Stapling Felt
So I was working on a layout today and I thought my little felt heart would be adorable with some ribbon attached. So of course i whipped out my stapler to attach is to a corner of the heart. Well that didn't work. I just smooshed the felt..tried again..another smoosh.
So I thought about it and put a piece of scrap heavyweight paper on the backside of the felt and voila...worked like a charm! So remember when you want to staple felt you need to add card stock behind and then trim around to avoid the "smoosh".

Ho Ho Ho
I did this with a mix of the NoelMignon holiday kits plus an added HS silhouette image and red thickers letters instead of green. It looks complicated, but took me no time. And I love edging LO's with scraps!
New design team!
Hi everyone and Merry Christmas eve eve!
Well as you can imagine I have had a rough time making these decisions but please join me in welcoming the new DT for the next 6 months. I am so lucky to have all of them joining the site and blogs and I'm sure they will be providing TONS of ideas and inspiration.
First off...we have Ashley Smith. Ashley is returning to the team, and she is going to be the DT coordinator. So welcome back Ashley!! YAY!
Next up.... is the amazing Adrienne Nixon!!
Adrienne simply rocks and is super fun! I'm sure a lot of you know her, she's "kind of a big deal", lol!
Third....the oh so talented and stunning Jana Eubank. If you have not seen her work...it literally takes my breath away! The way she layers and coordinates....it's fantastic!
And last, but certainly not least we welcome Patti Hozack. Patti is one of my all time favorite scrappers! She is constantly featured on ScrapJazz and is a pro at using different shapes and direction in her work. She has joined in on my challenges from the beginning and was always a favorite!!
So there we have it. The new team.
I would like to take a minute to thank Jael Calvillo for providing STUNNING work throughout the last year. Jael is truly a "natural" scrapper. Everything she does is so full of life and, as with any true artist, when you see Jael's work you know it's hers before you even see her name on it. She owns it and I'm going to miss her so much. She is a great scrapper and a great friend and a true sweetheart! Please browse through the months below to see what I mean. But I warn you "prepare to be amazed".....seriously...lol!
Also, I would like to thank Elizabeth Manna, who has been GDTM for the last few months. Again, she is awesome! Awesome scrapper, awesome person and awesome friend! I would also like to thank all of you who entered the call....again I'm humbled and awed by all of your amazing work!
And because of this I have made a decision....a fun decision! As you all saw, the winner of this challenge will be getting to choose a paper kit and will be guest DTM for January. Well, I thought "why not do this every month?"...so I am!! The beginning of every month I will be holding a challenge, and the winner of that challenge will get to be on the DT the following month. Then I can offer the position to more of you and we will all win by getting to see all the talent out there!! Sound good?? I hope so!!
So that's what I have to share today! Make sure you check back tomorrow to see who will be filling the first guest spot! Again, decisions...decisions. Have you seen the slide show??? Oh my goodness....guys watch it all the way through and then tell me how I'm going to pick! Ahhh...you're killin' me (in a good way)!

Update...
Hi everyone!! I'm just going to give everyone a quick update as to where I am as far as getting a new DT together. I have received over 50 entries to be considered...that's so amazing, and overwhelming and humbling! I am just in awe at the level of work EVERYONE has submitted! I will be taking the next several days to go through and think very long and hard about my choices!
Now I know I said that the winner of the Holiday challenge will get to pick a paper kit....but I would also like to extend an invitation to the winner of this challenge to be the first guest design team member for January!
I am having such a hard time picking 3 people out of this lot...there is just so much talent to chose from....again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for wanting to be a part of the team!
Have a great weekend! And keep submitting for the challenge...it runs through the end of this week.

Fun with Felt!
One of the latest trends in scrapbooking is the use of felt on any and all projects. Many companies are releasing felt embellishments, and on these cards I used embellishments by Fancy Pants Designs. I love the texture that felt adds to a layout or card, and it sometimes even lends a "retro" feel to your project. The main obstacle to overcome with felt is attaching it to your project. After trying many of my mainstay adhesives and having no luck, I discovered that KI Gloo is an awesome alternative to regularly used adhesives. If you are planning to use felt on many projects at all, KI Gloo would be a great investment. As an alternative, I used brads to attach my flowers to these cards--no adhesive was necessary at all in those cases. You could easily use brads on other felt shapes as well. And if you're feeling really ambitious, sewing felt embellishements onto your project would make any layout or card look awesome! So have lots of fun with your felt embellishments--they are sure to add lots of texture and dimension to all your projects!

What I'm doing with the kits!
So here's what I have been doing with the Holiday Kits over the last few days! Making a really fun little mini book (Basic Grey luggage tag)! Most of the papers are from the kits...but I threw in some of the Cosmo Wonderland pages at the end. And here are some of the other embellishments I pulled out too! I inked all the edges with the Tim Holtz distressed ink in fire brick. Then I also added some Cosmo rub ons, Queen and Co. felts, FP felts, few other thickers, velvet ribbon (green), Hambly rub ons ,buttons, and stickers from the Cosmo Cricket sticker book.
