2 yrs.

Have you dug into the new "Evening Stroll" kit?! I love it. You guys. I have no words!

This is the reason you want to be a subscriber to Noel's kits. They are so amazing, and pictures don't do them justice. I will be scrapping off of this kit for a WHILE. It's hitting my top ten all time favorites.

This is really a simple layout... just basic layers and shapes. It pretty much fell together while I chatted with some friends. I love it when that happens!

"No Worries"

Photobucket

I received my "Evening Stroll" kit just the other day & just couldn't wait to dive in!!!  The color scheme is simply gorgeous and there are SO MANY fun goodies to play around with :)  As I was pouring over the contents of the kit, I came across a paper from Basic Grey.  I often find the patterned papers that already have "layered" elements on them to be challenging to use.  However, as soon as I saw this one from the Basic Grey Clippings line I knew I had to find a way to use it!!!

Photobucket

In the close-up below, you will notice the adorable Studio Calico Scraps.  I loved the look of this border tissue and decided I would fold it back & forth and tuck it behind some of the patterned paper to  add a little dimension to my page.

Photobucket

Here you can see a number of the Echo Park chipboard pieces and stickers.  I love layering these type of embellishments around my photo(s).

Is there an intimidating patterned paper in YOUR stash???  Break it out & challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone and get creating!!!

My cutie pie!

Hello everyone! Yesterday I sent the kids off for their first day of school. After taking a photo and sending them on their way I realized I only have one more year to send them off together and then my son will be going to college. sniff. sniff.

One of the reason I love scrapbooking so much is that I can pull out old photos and reminisce about days gone by and things that were significant at that time, like this photo of my daughter when she was in 5th grade sporting her braces and the ever popular lip gloss. She started 10th grade yesterday, but I had fun putting this layout together!

All supplies for this layout are from the August West Coast kit. For the background, I cut apart the Studio Calico journaling paper, layered them and then stitched them down with my sewing machine.
The pink doily was the perfect backdrop for the MME die cut title, accented with the layered butterfly.
Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut a small butterfly in the center of one of the journaling cards and layered the pink washi tape behind it.
To complete the layout I added my journaling to one of the journal cards and embellished it with a couple butterflies and flower for the finishing touch.

The colors and mix of products in the West Coast kit are amazing. If you missed out on the kit you can get a West Coast Limited kit in the shop!

Click * Click * Click

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!

hope you've had a fantastic weekend!

I'm here to share a quick layout I made this weekend of my 2 kiddo's using
the gorgeous August West Coast kit:

That kit is now totally sold out but Noel packed a limited edition West Coast kit
you'll want to get your hands on fast!

Noel sure knows how to pack a huge, delicious, amazing kit!
I've only made 4 layouts with this kit this month & could go on and on making
so many more!

Here's a few close ups of my layout:

I also used some elements from the July Boardwalk kit such as the mask, ink & rub ons.

I loved Echo Parks Everyday Eclectic by Allison Kreft. Especially the hot air balloons.
I thought they were perfect examples of my kiddo's heading off to college again for their 2nd
and 3rd years.

My title represents the one sound they could recognize from miles away. Me clicking
my camera. They're so used to it, they automatically know what to do. Well most of the time.
ha!

I hope you've enjoyed the examples from this kit.
It's such a great one & I sure hope you were able to get your hands on it!
Just wait until you see next month's kit. I just got mine & am already diving into it.
It's DIVINE!!

Have a great week everyone!

Sunday Scrapping

Hey Everyone!

Popping in really quick to show a lil something I made with West Coast Kit.

I wanted a little work of art style lo that I could keep on my desk at work without taking too much space.

Michael's carries these little wooden easels that are perfect for this.

I painted it pink and "white washed" it with some white paint to tone down the hot pink-ness of it.

Using my silhouette, I cut out a design for a 3x5 pocket and scrapped on that with various embellishments from the kit.

I plan on making a few more of these for gifts during the holidays.  The size is perfect!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

And if like me, you are in Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac's path, please be safe :)

Ana

Our baby girl is not so "baby" these days... she's almost 3 and I don't know if it's because she's the baby or what, but she just delights the heck out of me. She's got her own spunky little personality and I want to make sure to be able to capture the details of her at this age.

I played around with the West Coast kit  for this layout. (did you know this is my fourth layout from this kit? And I also made two cards? And STILL have a ton left?! Noel's kits have SOOO much in them, I love it!) For the background, I just ran that paper through my Silhouette machine and cut out a stencil font. I really like the peekaboo look it gives!

I asked Noel a while back if she would include a "kraft" colored marker or pen in a kit, and I love this one she chose. It's a great color, so if you handwrite your journaling like I do, it is like another design element.

It's also a stamp marker, which I haven't experimented a ton with yet, but is really handy to have!

Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for a kit video of our new kit, "Evening Stroll!"

Lego Love!!!

Photobucket

My 5 year old has recently become OBSESSED with legos.  He just loves the whole process of pouring through the directions & piecing together these fun little creations :)  I wanted to scrap some pics I had snapped the other day & also was really wanting to use the adorable Heidi Swap frames from the West Coast kit.  I didn't have enough pics to fill in all 4 frames, but decided to use all 4 anyway.  I alternated my design of the frames between text and photos . . .

Photobucket

For some reason I have always been intimidated by those Studio Calico Fabrips, I don't know why.  However, I decided to really have fun with this layout & branch out a bit :)  I just folded the Fabrip back & forth to create this ruffled edge . . .

Photobucket

Speaking of trying a few new things - I have seen the scattered punches on layouts around the web and loved how they looked.  I decided to break out a few hole punches from my stash (including that cute heart one) and got busy to "scattering" . . .

Photobucket

This year I have vowed to make an effort to journal on every layout.  It is my least favorite thing to do, mostly because I tend to struggle with what to say, but I know it is probably what will be treasured most by my children :)

Photobucket

Thanks for letting me share today everyone!!!  Feel free to break out into your own kits and/or stash & try something new today :)

Simple cards with flair...

If you are like me, you are always needing a card. It always seems that I need one when I'm short on time too. I thought I would fix that problem and whip up some quick & easy cards using the same design for each one.

The Retro Flair in the shop has a greeting/saying on each one so I decided to use those as my focal point for the coordinate set.

Each card has a combination of 3 strips of paper/washi tape/fabrips with the flair as the focal point and greeting. Most of the supplies are from the West Coast kit, with the exception of some of the washi tapes and the flair.

The first is an all occasion card using the adorable typewriter flair.

For this next card I flipped the orientation to vertical and included a greeting on the inside, drawn using the sketch feature on my Silhouette Cameo.

I like to recognize people for a job "well done" so I included a congratulations card in my set. Once again, I drew the greeting on the inside with my Cameo.

With the sewing machine flair I created a card that can be used as a general greeting or congratulations/best wishes card. I left the inside blank so I can customize it for the recipient.

Last, but not least, a belated Birthday Card. I'm sorry to say, I need this type of card far too often.

If you need some cards in a hurry, give this design a try. You'll be able to make up several in just one sitting.

Have a great day everyone...make it a crafty one!

Serenity Now

Good Monday morning!

It's Leslie here with another Monday post for you!

Ever have those moments of needing "serenity now?"
I know I do!
For me it's one of several things. A nice long bubble bath,
a trip to Hobby Lobby AND Starbucks,
a chat with a good friend on the phone (who am I kidding...texting is more like it, ha!)
or my number one:

escaping with a GOOD book. Along with a cup of coffee or something yummy to drink.
That's my "serenity now...."

For this layout I used the August kit: West Coast.
I added some ink & rub ons from July's Boardwalk kit.
**West Coast IS sold out but Noel made some LIMITED  West Coast kits
They'll go FAST so go get yours now!

Here's some closer shots:

What's your way of escaping today for a few?
Scrap about it...
enjoy it!

have a great day, friends.
