Design Team Announcements!

NoelMignon is consistently blessed with amazing talents on the design team, and we wanted to take a moment to thank our last team for all of their amazing inspiration, creativity, and excitement as they worked with the NM kits. We sure are gonna miss them, but are looking forward to seeing new things from them as they continue on their creative pursuits. :)

Our new team is all on board and we are really excited about what they will bring to the table! Are you ready to meet them?! :)

First up, meet a long time kit subscriber, Cassandra Cyr!

If you've been a scrapbooker for any length of time, I bet you've used on of our next designer's amazing tags- Veronica Milan of Chic Tags

Celebrating

Hi there and happy Thursday!
Gretchen here with another layout to share using the Beach Blvd kit.
I know this is a bright, summer-y kit, but I've managed to pull off 2 wedding layouts with it!
This layout is all about the makeshift bridal shower we had at work for my friend Melody.
It's also about the shower that almost got us all fired because we did not get it "approved" first.
Oh lordy!
That's another story for another day!
:)
But here is the layout that I hope you "approve" of!

Here are a couple close up shots...

I reeeeeally love the cute Basic Grey candy buttons!
Of course, I still love brads so certainly I would also love these!

Every now and then I like to go a little vertical with my titles.
:)

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
Have a great one!

Happy . . .

Hello everyone!!  I'm here today to share my most recent layout featuring the fabulous Beach Blvd. kit :)  As soon as I saw the "Beach Bicycle Rental" sticker, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap!!! While at the ocean recently, my husband suggested we all hop into a family bike & try our hand at cruising the boardwalk.  I'm not going to lie, it was hard!!!  It takes a lot to keep that machine running - what a workout :)

 photo bike600_zps393ba340.jpg

I decided to use the stamp from June's kit to create a border.  I stamped the "Summertime" image in all four corners and then added some hand-drawn lines to connect them.  Such a quick & easy way to add a unique border to your page!!  I also used a Silhouette file for the title that you can find HERE.  I cut it twice, once in black and once in yellow.  Then I overlapped them, and stitched them down onto the page.  The patterned paper I used for the title work came from past Noel Mignon kits.  I also added in a lattice type background that I cut from kraft paper.  You can find the Silhouette file I used HERE.

On the left side of the photo I layered up some of the fun stickers and chipboard from the kit . . .

And on the right side I added in a journaling card tucked under the photo . . .

Have you uploaded your Beach Blvd. layouts to our Facebook group?  We love to see our member's work :)  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

The Sweetest

Hi everyone, Diane here with my very last post as a design team member at Noel Mignon! If you've been paying attention you know I like to use banners...A LOT! :) So, I thought it would be fitting to go out with a banner layout and a little tutorial on how you can make your very own paper chain, like the ones you received in the Beach Blvd kit.

Here is how I made my homemade banner:
You can make your banner/paper chain with any shape you want. I decided to make my banner using the Crate Paper hexagon paper (Love!).
Using the lines on each hexagon, I cut them apart into triangles.
Next, I set my sewing machine at the longest stitch, leaving a long tail, I fed the first pieces under the foot. After it goes all the way through stitch 2-3 more times (or more). The more stitches you leave in between the bigger the gap between each paper piece.
This is how each piece looked when finished. For a little variety, I also added in a couple die cut tags that coordinated with the Crate Paper collection that was included in the Beach Blvd kit.

If you like stitching on your layouts, you can adjust the width and length of your stitches for more variety. This little sample below shows a zig zag stitch done at different widths and lengths on my machine.

Pretty cool, don't you think? Here are a few more ideas for stitching:

  • Use stitching to add a decorative element to corners
  • Stitch on top of a photo
  • Did you know you can stitch over chipboard? Yes you can, just take it slow with your speed
  • Use stitching as a form of adhesive (think transparencies and vellum)

Don't be afraid to experiment with your stitching, test it out on a piece of scrap paper first if you are unsure. If you have any stitching questions, leave a comment here on this post and I'll do my best to answer them.

Thank you so much to Noel and Virginia for having me on the team and to all of you for the friendships and sweet words. It has been a fabulous year!

Last Monday - Happy Summer

Hi everyone!

Leslie here today with a little card I put together for today's post:
Before I share my card, I want to say thank you to Noel, Virginia,
all the sweet girls on the team and ALL of you out there!
Today's my last post here at Noel Mignon as a design team member.
It's been a FAST year - but it's time for me to move on & let
other lucky girls get a chance to play with Noel's beautiful kits!

So with that - I wish all of you a wonderful summer & thank you again
for letting me share so many of my inspirations with you.

Today's card - using June's Beach Blvd. kit:
Hello Summer:

I hope you've enjoyed today's quick post!

NoelMignon July Project Life kit in action!

I got to use the very first NoelMignon Project Life kit this week, and I had a blast doing it! Make sure to scroll down to check out the two videos at the bottom of the post.

I kept it fairly simple this week, but I did make the below page a little extra special, featuring this sweet picture of one of my babies as she welcomed me home from being gone for a week. My heart.

Another fun detail I added was accenting the side binding strip with washi tape and then re-punching  the holes. I thought it was a special detail that adds another little punch to the page without going crazy.

I love seeing little accents poking out of the top of an album. They're so inviting to me.

Below is my NoelMignon Project Life kit review! Obviously, I've already used a few of the pieces of the kit in the layouts above, but the rest is below. :)

This week is a bonus video- the Hello Sunshine July kit review! Woop woop! :)

Using the pinwheels!

Hi there!
Gretchen here again and I've been playing with my Beach Blvd kit!
Don't you just love the fun and cheerful pinwheels from Crate Paper in the kit??

I made a couple of cards with the sole purpose of using the pinwheels!
The design of these cards is pretty similar. I do this a lot on my cards. I will use the same basic design and just change the papers and embellishments...I can make more cards in less time using that strategy!
I cut up this sheet of Crate Paper to use as part of the background for each card.

Then I made sure the pinwheels were front and center!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
Have an awesome day!

It's Sketch Time!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!  I'm here today to share a new sketch challenge for June - YAY!!  This month's sketch features a fun page element that I have seen popping up all over - speech bubbles :)  Check it out . . .

 photo nmjune600_zpse4320d0e.jpg

Here is my take on this month's sketch using June's Beach Blvd. kit . . .

 photo chasing600_zpsb6028171.jpg

I took advantage of the adorable chipboard speech bubbles in this month's kit, and used all 3 to surround my center speech bubble.  This one was cut using my Silhouette.  It was actually more of a journaling card with a speech bubble :)   You can find the cut file in the Silhouette store HERE.  For the title work I mixed the bright teal alphas with an Elle's Studio tag & LilyBee Designs sticker - all found in the kit!!!

Here's a close-up on my journaling . . .

Ready to break out you speech bubble embellishments & start scrapping??  Your entry to this challenge is due July 5th.  Once you have completed your entry, be sure to post it in our Facebook group.  One lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a $10 gift certificate to the Noel Mignon store!!!  Can't wait to see what you all come up with :)

The Terrific 2's

Hi everyone! I'm up with another Beach Blvd layout.

This picture says it all with that look on my daughter's face and me holding her hand back from the candles and cupcake...she's going to be an explorer. I thought it would be fun to showcase the photo with the title "Terrific 2's" instead of "Terrible 2's."

Here are a few close-ups.

In hindsight, the 2's were terrific. It was fun watching her learn and grow and she really wasn't all that terrible, in fact she was a lover, rather sweet most of the time. :)

All supplies are from the Beach Blvd kit, with the exception of the die cut envelope which is from the February, Lasting Love kit.
