Scraplift of Lindsey Dixon

Hi, everyone! Jana Eubank here. This has been such a fun week on the Noel Mignon blog! I have loved seeing all of our members' creativity, along with the scraplifts by our design team! The page I chose to work with is this lovely page by Lindsey Dixon using the January 2014 Fresh Start kit.

I love the different strips of patterned papers in the background I loved the scattered hearts over the top and the way that Lindsey cut and lifted the pennants of the pink paper to add more dimension. I selected a horizontal photo from Valentine's Day last year, grabbed my February 2014 Book of Love kit, and got to work! Here is my take on Lindsey's darling page.

I duplicated the four columns of patterned paper from Lindsey's page, but added a 5th strip going horizontally to anchor my photo.

I tried to imitate the hearts and dimension on Lindsey's page by cutting out the icons and scribbly polka dots in the patterns and popping them up with foam squares.

I also created a grouping of pennants in the upper left corner. Two of the flags are from the sticker sheet in the kit. I used a pennant punch to cut the gray tag from one of the 3x4 cards included in my kit. I stitched across the top of all three of the banners and then added a paper doll garland cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine.

To the right of my photo, I added a title, journal block, and a few die cuts and stickers.

I had so much fun putting this design together. Thank you for inspiring me, Lindsey!

Happy Scrapping!

Jackie George - You've Been Lifted!!

Welcome back to our week of scraplifts!! I had the pleasure of getting to play around with the fabulous style of Jackie George.   I have noticed some recent layouts of Jackie's that included AWESOME quilt-like patterns in the background.  If you know me, you know I love the quilted look on a page - as well as the opportunity to break out some sewing!!!  Here is Jackie's inspiring page . . .

And here is my take on that gorgeous quilted background using the new Wishing Well kit. . .

I cut various lengths of patterned papers, just as Jackie did on her layout.   I then adhered them to the bottom half of my page in rows.  I also machine-stitched across each row.

Rather than create my typical oversized title, I chose to keep it simple with this cute photo frame and one of the GORGEOUS gold rub-ons from the kit.  Right below I added my journaling and then a few fun embellishments on the side.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Feel free to check out more of Jackie's work in our Facebook Group :)

Scraplift Week- Molly Rose You've been Lifted!

Hi everyone, Cassie here today! Do you love Scraplift Week as much as I do?  It's SO much fun but it's so hard to choose what to lift because there are so many awesome projects on the Facebook page :)  I decided to lift Molly Rose's beautiful layout seen below

I really liked the strips of paper behind the photo and the large block of journaling so I translated both of those elements into my layout using the Book of Love kit.

I decided to expand the journaling to all of the negative space in the layout, making it become the background.  It was actually hard to come up with journaling to fill all of the space, I'm so used to keeping it brief in my layouts :) Thank you for the wonderful inspiration Molly!!

Sara Andrews - You've been scraplifted!

This week, the design team is celebrating all the inspiration from our facebook group members by sharing their creations with you and scraplifting them. You should come play along!

I chose the talented Sara Andrews to scraplift. What inspired me was her fun use of color and lots of layering! I've been gravitating to softer, muted colors lately, so I chose her because I thought it would move me out of my comfort zone. Her layouts just shout "FUN" to me!

I picked this sweet layout from her blog:

And dove into the Wishing Well kit (now available!) with my scraplift.

To mimic her design, I gathered a bright, bold patterned paper for my background and several square mats from patterned paper for my oversized photo. I also layered a handful of brads and small embellishments around the two corners.

Thanks, Sara, for the inspiration! I've learned several new ways to look at my own creativity by watching yours! :)

Two Year Old Fashion and the Book of Love kit

Hello once again!

I have had so much fun being a little part of things here this month and have one more project to share with you using the cute February kit, Book of Love.

I have four little girls ranging in age from 2 to 9 and they sure keep life interesting. My almost-three year old is especially fun as she becomes more and more independent. She gives her sisters a run for the money, that's for sure! She also has quite a sense of fashion as you can see in this layout:

This little girl is a big Minnie Mouse fan so I had to use some of the cute Fancy Pants polka-dotted paper as part of the background as well as a couple of thin strips of other patterned papers, then misted the left side before adding my pictures.

As you can see- she has quite the amazing fashion sense- her sister's gymnastics leotard over her clothes, a stretchy headband around her face and she has flip flops on the wrong feet. Adorable, right?

I like to add little clusters of embellishments around my photos so I tucked in a Jillibean card and added a tab sticker and some hearts around the top photo and then used some Elle's Studio tags, a piece of Fancy Pants flair and My Mind's Eye epoxy hearts by the bottom picture.

This was such a fun kit! I hope that you feel inspired to create with yours and that you will share with us on the Noel Mignon Facebook page.

Have a great day!

Valentine Box

Happy Friday, friends! Jana Eubank here with another creation using the February 2014 Book of Love kit. I love when Valentine collections include a bit of blue. It is such a great color paired with red and pink.

When I was little, my mom would painstakingly help us create fun-shaped Valentine boxes for us to take to school. I have such fond memories of creating those boxes with my mom and wanted to give my kids the same experience. Last year, my daughter and I put together this Circus Tent shaped box. We even decorated each side with die cut animal critters. My daughter was pretty happy with it and asked me to take pictures of all the sides before it got ruined. :)

I used a cute polaroid camera digital cut paired with a polaroid frame as the main page accent. I cut one of the 3x4 cards from the Jillibean Soup sheet in the kit and added it to the polaroid frame. The excess phrase that I cut off the bottom of the 3x4 card was placed at the bottom corner of the small photos along with the enamel arrows.

I stacked the two chipboard hearts from the kit on top of each other and added a phrase sticker and more enamel arrow stickers as accents. Simple, yet perfect for this little corner of the page.

Thanks for stopping in today! Enjoy your weekend!

Everything Here Is Wonderful

Hello everyone!!  I'm here this week to share another project using the new Book of Love kit as well as a bit of last month's Fresh Start kit mixed in!!  This has definitely been the year of winter weather for us and I wanted to document this adorable pic of Ryan & his cousins in the snow.  I used the arrow stamp from the Book of Love kit to create a fun border around the edge.  When I create stamped borders such as this, I find it easiest to draw my lines first with pencil.  This helps me easily line up my images around the edge of the page.  Then when I am done stamping, I can just erase the pencil lines!!

I used one of the Elle's Studio 4 x 6 cards to house my title.  I combined the back of a bar code strip on one of the patterned papers, the small gray Elle's Studio alphas, and a die-cut word - "wonderful" - together for my title work. Also, I added a small punched vellum snowflake in the corner :)

On the right of the photo I added another Elle's Studio journaling card, along with a variety of tags & die-cuts.  I love how the pops of color look against the black & white photo!!

Kissing Booths Are The Leading Cause of Cooties

Hello everyone, Cassie here today with a layout to share with you!  I made a layout of my son using the Book of Love kit which I have been LOVING.  I thought this pictures of my son making a disgusted face were really funny compared with the background so I pulled out my inner Dwight Schrute to come up with the title (get it??)

I love all the little bits and pieces Noel includes in the kit, I had a great time layering and hiding elements all throughout the layout!

Pinterest Inspired

Hello!! I have a fun little pinterest inspired tag to share with you all today. I love looking to Pinterest for fun ideas and prompts. Last week, during the "Book Of Love" crop, I visited Pinterest a few times to find ideas for adding different textures and layers into the album I was making.

love you more wall art print

I stumbled across this image, which instantly made me think of the Fancy Pants, Devotion paper that was included in the February "Book Of Love" kit.

By fussy cutting out some of the hearts, and hand cutting letters, I was able to create this cute, fun, little tag that was a perfect addition for my album!

I kept it very simple, I really wanted to watercolor, tone on tone effect to stand out!

Snow much love!

Hi friends! I have a quick little layout to share with y'all today... I'm surprising myself because for the first time in a long time, I've almost used up everything in a kit! Whoop whoop! I've been working with the Fresh Start kit and only have a little bit left to try to knock out before the next kit (the "Wishing Well" kit for March- make sure to check out the sneak peeks on the NoelMignon facebook page!).

We've had a record amount/number of snows here in Alabama lately, so of course my camera has been busy documenting it. I love having pretty snow pictures to work with! I made a very simple page using some recent mpix prints I ordered and a large title cut with my Silhouette machine.

To add a little something "extra" to the title, I mixed some mod podge, a little water, and a dab of liquid watercolors for a light colored wash. I sprinkled glitter on top of it while it was wet. This is a technique I was inpsired by Kim from Happy Like Yellow with... and I can see that I'll be having lots more fun with it!

while we are on the topic of LOVE

Hello again!

We hope that you have enjoyed playing along with the Book of Love crop and that you have gotten lots of fun projects done this last week.

Today I am continuing on the love theme with a few cards.

Valentine's Day is a big celebration of love but I think it's important that we show our love and appreciation for those dear to us every single day.

All of these cards were made using the February kit, Book of Love.

For this card I used some of the Jillibean Soup banner stickers for the backdrop. I cut the heart from the Jillibean Bite Size Bits paper and added some alphas and a My Mind's Eye epoxy heart to the center. I added a few drops of spray mist as well.

For this card I used part of the Elle's Studio journaling card included in the kit and used the nozzle from my spray mist to color in a couple of the hearts.

I added a Fancy Pants sticker and finished with the Jilibean heart balloon and My Mind's Eye epoxy heart.

The striped paper was one of my favorites from the kit! I like the happy red and pink mixed with the mint, yellow and gray. I first used the blush mist Color Shine mist from Heidi Swapp on the white cardstock background, then added the striped paper and another of the Elle's Studio cards on this one.

To finish off the card I added some of the cute white and sparkly red twine knotted at the ends and a few punched shapes.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today!

I will be back next Sunday for one last project for the month.

♥♥

Book of Love Crop: Be Still My Heart Challenge

Hi Friends! I'm back again with my second challenge for the day.

Be Still My Heart Challenge: Use hearts as a predominant element on your page.

This week I cut out several glittery hearts to go on my daughter's Valentine cards. The negative piece was so pretty and I couldn't bare to throw it away! I decided to use it as a background for this page.

I backed the hearts with several papers from the January 2014 Fresh Start kit. The result is a whimsical page with a childlike appeal.

What kind of hearts are you going to add to your project? We can't wait to see!

Book of Love Crop: The Matchmaker Challenge

Happy Valentine's Day! Jana Eubank here with your next challenge for the Book of Love Crop.

The Matchmaker Challenge: Use quilting or paper-piecing.

.........................................

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

For my page, I used the February 2014 Book of Love kit and a triangle punch by EK Success that I recently purchased. I punched several triangles and then arranged them in a center column on the page.

Next, I used my sewing machine to add zig-zag stitching along all of the edges. I used the wood veneer hearts from the kit as an accent in the corner of several of the triangles.

I cut the heart from one of the 3x4 cut apart cards. Then I wrote my journaling on the back of the two tags included with my kit.

I love this cute die cut of two kissing birds. I "perched" them on top of an arrow die cut in the corner of my photo.

The embossed red paper that my photos are matted with is from the Jillibean Soup Core Impressions paper pad from Noel's shop. It can be found HERE.

I can't wait to see your take on this challenge! Have a Happy Heart Day!
