All Fall Kits: Feeding the Birds

Happy Wednesday, friends! Jana Eubank here. I'm tackling the Recipe Challenge this week where we were to use the following on our project:  1 sheet of cardstock, 2 alphabets, 3 photos, 4 patterned papers, and 5 embellishments.

I did squeeze in an additional wood button and some photo corners, but I have to say, I followed the recipe almost exactly and love what I was able to come up with. Here are my results!

FEEDING THE BIRDS

I created this page about my son feeding three lost baby birds using elements from both the All Fall Classic kit and All Fall Daily Diary kit and a sheet of white cardstock from my stash for the base.

My one piece of cardstock is the white cardstock I pulled from my stash. I used some distressing stamps by Stampin' Up (Watercolor Wash and Gorgeous Grunge) to add the ink splotches to the background.

The two alphabets I used are from the All Fall Classic kit. While I was building this page, I kept singing the Mary Poppins song, "Feed the Birds" in my head ... so that is what I went with for my title. Ha!

I have three photos on this page. One of my son feeding the lost baby birds, one of the birds, and one of the mother feeding her babies once she had figured out where they had gone off to.

For the four pieces of patterned paper, I used one to mat the photos and then layered three strips together as a band across the page.

For my five embellishments I used five chipboard leaves from the All Fall Daily Diary kit. I also added in a wood circle embellishment and some gold photo corners from my stash ... but you're okay I threw those in, right?! :)

I used the green glitter dots from the Thicker alpha stickers as embellishments, but I'm counting those as part of my two alphabets. :)

I hope you feel inspired to create something this week. Give our recipe challenge a try. It was fun to use these guidelines to think a bit differently about my page elements as I was putting this together ... and I think you'll have fun trying it to!

Have a great week!

A Recipe for a Fall Pocket Page

Hello Everyone! Lynn here hoping you all survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Did you score any good deals? I was tempted but settled with a BOGO calendar for Christmas gifts.
Today I'm sharing my final pocket page with the "All Fall" Daily Diary Kit. Our challenge this week is a fun one! It's a recipe challenge. Here are the ingredients we incorporated into our projects:

1 - sheet cardstock
2 - alphabets
3 - photos
4 - patterned papers
5 - embellishments

Here's my whole page.
I used my vintage typewriter for my journaling this week.
For my 1 sheet of cardstock I cut up a piece of cream cardstock and used it under my photos. 2 different alphabets can be seen on the following card.
3 photos was easy peasy. I printed my photos on my Instax Printer for cute polaroid type pics.
4 patterned papers was another easy peasy ingredient - plaid, floral, wood grain and burlap.
5 Embellishments: Simple Stories Clips, Cardstock Stickers, Enamel Dots, Die Cut Shapes and Washi Tape.
Here's the last few close ups. How cute is this bear ...
And the final two cards.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and checking out our latest challenge. Hope you join us and create something with this recipe!!
Have a great week and I'll be back next week with a new page with a brand new kit!!

A Recipe Challenge with the "All Fall" Classic Kit

Hello all!  Today I will be sharing another layout I made with the "All Fall" Classic Kit.  I'm happy to say, I got quite a few double page layouts out of this month's kit, and a couple of single pagers too!

This week's Design Team's Challenge...it is a recipe challenge, and I think these types of challenges are so fun. The recipe we are following this week is:

1 sheet of cardstock
2 alphas
3 photos
4 patterned papers
5 embellishments

Well, I kept finding things that I needed to add to my layout in this month's kit, so some of these things I used "at least" that many.  For example, I used more than one piece of cardstock.

Here is the layout I created...

1 sheet of cardstock---check!  Well, actually 3 sheets.  Both the maroon and the yellow cardstock came from this month's kit, the cream cardstock was a scrap from a past kit that I punched with a border punch.

2 alphas---check!  The word "just" is from a set of Thickers from my stash, the word "us" came from the Pretty Little Studio Mini Alphas in this month's kit.

3 photos---check!  These photos were some maternity photos from last November, just 4 weeks before the baby was born.  I knew this would be my last pregnancy, so these pictures are really special to me.

4 patterned papers---check!  I just love the hounds tooth and wood chevron papers in this month's kit.  I added another woodgrain branding strip from the "All Fall" kit and a scrap of brown patterned paper from October's kit.

5 embellishments---check!  And then some... I started with a few rub ons, a wooden chip, a couple of brads, some enamel dots, a label sticker, a printed chipboard sticker, and finally a punched heart.

Here are a few close ups of my layout.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I can't wait to break into my December "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit.  Stop by all week to see the rest of our design team's recipe challenges.  Have a great week!!!

Planning with the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit

Welcome!  Wendy here today to share my December calendar using the Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit.  I didn't have enough Christmas pictures to work in my Project Life album yet, so I decided to plan instead.  I love that my planner allows me to create in a small place, it is great for a quick creative pick-up.

Here are some close-ups of the details...

I love the clips and flowers that were enclosed in the kit, but the flower was too bulky for my planner.  I took the foam adhesive off the flower and instead adhered it with liquid glue to the clip, giving me a very festive marker for my planner for the month.

This week your challenge is a Recipe challenge; your challenge is to use 1 sheet of cardstock, 2 alphabets, 3 photos, 4 patterned papers, and 5 embellishments.  If you play along, remember to share what you have created on the Noel Mignon FB page, we'd love to see!

Thanks for joining me today!

Autumn Traditions | All Fall Classic Kit

Hello there!

Laura here sharing a new layout today!  This week the DT members are creating projects about traditions. Our family doesn't have much in the way of Thanksgiving traditions, other than to enjoy a nice meal together.  So I opted to document one of our Fall traditions,  which is to find fun places to go for walks to absorb all of the colours of Autumn.

I had fun making this page, although parts of it got away form me (or my original vision) and other parts were a bit of a struggle.  But that is all part of the journey, right?

After layering up the three patterns that make up my background, I applied Gesso to my page to fade out some of the pattern and make it easier for me to add some paint and mist.

I laid down a base of teal water-colour paints using both a brush and the packaging technique. Once that was looking how I had hoped, I went in with some green, teal, and brick coloured mists and added some splatters to pull the colours from my photo.

Then I used the mask from the kit and gold texture paste from my stash to add  leaves onto my background.  I was going for a "blowing leaves" sort of look, although I am not quite sure I got there.

After my background was complete, I layered my photo onto patterned papers and worked on a main embellishment cluster.  I used a combination of die cut leaves and elements from the kit to adorn the right side of my photo.

My title combines chipboard and alphas stickers, just the way I like it!

I create another smaller cluster on the top left side of my page, I love the way this pulls the colours from the other cluster over here.

I an sharing another process video today, you can watch the video for this layout below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List for the kit:  Simple Stories  Warm & Cozy patterned paper; Pebbles Woodland patterned paper; Jen Hadfield Sprigs patterned paper; Carta Bella Family Gathering and Fall Forest patterned papers; American craft cardstock; Jen Hadfield rub-ons; Pretty Little Studio Oakley Avenue alphas stickers, vellum sticker tape and flair; Maya Road wood buttons; Prima Felt Leaves; Tim Holtz Distress marker; Echo Park brads; Carta Bella Crisp Autumn stencil;. (from my stash:  Sargent Gesso; green and teal Mr. Huey's; Brick Glimmermist; Leow's water colour paints; Heidi Swapp gold texture paste and Color Shine).

Thanks so much for visiting today!

turkey tradition

Hey friends, Michelle here! I hope you all have survived Thanksgiving without too much adjustments to your waistlines!! haha I myself am enjoying this Friday without any crazy shoppers (only online shopping for me!) and *hopefully* a bit of Gilmore Girls later today when the house is quiet and I can enjoy it to the fullest!
We're doing layouts on traditions this week so I thought I'd do one about my daughter's Oreo turkeys that she makes every year for Thanksgiving. It has become her tradition to make them every year so I thought it'd be fun to do a layout about it!
I just *love* those green glittery thickers that came with the All Fall Classic kit!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Documenting Week 45 with 2 Kits!

Happy Thursday! Danielle here today and I have Week 45 of my Project Life to share with you! I did something a little different this week. I mixed the ends of my Noel Mignon Falloween & All Fall Kit to create this spread. Look at how perfectly these 2 kits blended together!

I love to add inserts, so here are photos of the entire spread with it and without it.

On a few of my cards, I added some stickles from my stash in the colour "Orange Peel" to add a little bling to this week. I also stapled a piece of the orange & black gingham ribbon to my date card. I love little bits sticking out from my pages!

How cute are those witch legs? I added them behind my photo, so they too, could also stick out of the top of my page. I layered lots of die cuts and stickers on my photos this week.

Here is the insert I created this week. I used a piece of white cardstock and adhered my photos and journal cards, then trimmed it down. Next I put it in an 8.5 x 11 page protector. I used a binder clip on the bottom to hold it in place, then used my ATG gun to add adhesive along the edge and stuck my ribbon down (front & back). I used my sewing machine to stitch the ribbon down. Then I took my scissors and trimmed away the excess page protector!

I used my hot glue gun to adhere the fabric flowers and rubber charms to the outside of the page, for some added texture.

Here are some close ups

How are you making out on your Project Life 2016?

All Fall Scrapbook Process Video: Fall

Hello Friends! Jana Eubank here. Today I have a scrapbook process video of a two-page layout I created using the All Fall Classic and All Fall Daily Diary Kits.

First, here is a look at this spread, followed by the video and detail shots. Enjoy!

FALL

Let's talk about the left side of the page first ...

Of course I had to use some forest critters on this page, right?! I chose to cut out the Echo Park Fall is in the Air Bear and Fox from the 3x4 Journaling card paper and combine them with a couple of the trees from the Pebbles Woodland Forest sticker sheet. I also fussy-cut several of the leaves from the 8x8 vellum Pretty Little Studio paper to sprinkle at their feet.

Here I used some of the cut apart Pretty Little Studio phrases accented with scribble heart stickers and the Echo Park Paper decorative brads. So cute!

I cut the title from brown cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo machine and then embossed it with a woodgrain texture using an embossing folder.

Now for the right side of the page ...

Aqua blue is my favorite color, so of course I had to sprinkle in a bit with the Pretty Little Studio flair!

The Echo Park Fox keeps my journaling company at the bottom of the page with more handcut vellum leaves, decorative brads, and heart stickers.

The hedgie chipboard sticker found a home in the top right corner of my page along with more leaves and brads.

I added a date to this page by die cutting a tag from the yellow cardstock and stamping it with the month and year.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you enjoyed this tour through my page.

Happy Thanksgiving!
