February 2017 Project Life - March DD Kit: Delightful

Hi!  Sarah here with another project life spread for this year, February!  I loved using up lots of the "lovey" things from the kit to highlight February.

For the title card, I again used a stamped 3x4 card that a friend made for me.  I also layered it up with a coffee sleeve from Starbucks and added a transparent circle from Freckled Fawn (not included in the kit).  I also added a wood veneer label with the month on it.

On the right side of the top, I used a 3x4 card with the word "you" on it and added some stickers to it to highlight that my daughter Layla received the Character of the Month for her class.

For the center, I documented my dog Brody's birthday...my sweet boy turned 14.  Next is a journaling card where I wrote about Chipotle opening up in our town.  I had a card from the restaurant that I cut out the circles from to add to the card.  I added a sticker to a picture of my daughter Caylan and I.

For the bottom, I have a picture of myself cross-stitching and watching Vikings.  I used a banner die cut, a Carta Bella sticker and a flair badge (all from the kit).  And I used some letter stickers from my stash.  I finished off the left side with my daughter's Valentines they gave out at school this year: Moana and Descendants.

For the right side, I started with Caylan's first overnight sleepover!  I used a couple of Freckled Fawn chipboard pieces.  I had run out of cards and paper, so I needed to use some 6x6 papers from my stash.

The photo on top is of the book fair at school, where I volunteered.  I used the diamond die cut to journal about it.  I also saw Fifty Shades Darker with some friends so I added the ticket stub to the awesome 3x4 card from the kit and added a feather from Freckled Fawn.

There is also a yummy Denny's picture and a funny picture of Layla wearing two robes one day.  I added some of the word strip stickers to them.

And finally, on the bottom, I documented a fun charity event I attended with my friends.  We all had movie themed tables and our was "How to Train Your Dragon" so we were all vikings.  I included a group picture with the ticket along the bottom and a picture of me with my two best friends at the table, along with a chipboard banner and sticker.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I can't wait to see what you are making with your March kits!!!

spreading sunshine

Today I have one more project to share using the Delightful Classic Kit before I dig into my brand new "Get Lost" one for April.

Do you know people who just seem to radiate light?

My youngest daughter does just that, so my project this week is to spotlight her:

This blue and white striped paper was one of my very favorites from the Delightful kit and I had been saving it for just the right picture ♥

I cut my white cardstock down a bit on all sides to show off the blue and white stripes behind the white. I misted my background with this mustard color to match the bright yellow of the slide. I don't tend to use yellow a lot in my projects but this time it was front and center as a major accent of my page. I really like the shade of blue from the patterned paper mixed with the yellow hues from the spray mist, buttons and doily from the kit.

I used the scraps of white cardstock to add texture to the striped paper and then adhered my white misted cardstock background to the patterned paper.

The fun diecut is one I'd cut on my Silhouette machine quite a while ago and I thought it went perfectly with this sweet picture of my little girl.

I added the strip of ribbon after cutting the edges as you can see in my picture and topped it off with a couple of cute wooden buttons to add more yellow accents to the project.

Lastly I added some puffy border stickers as well as chipoard accents, adhering some of those straight to my page and adding foam adhesive to others.

Please come visit us again tomorrow for more inspiration from our design team.

Silly McGilly

On St Patrick's Day, my daughter's Kindergarten class set out traps to try and catch Silly McGilly the Leprechaun. Well of course, he managed to give them the slip but not before he played some silly tricks! He knocked over some of the traps, left green footprints on others, and messed with the sight word cards (among other things!).
I pulled out my Delightful Daily Diary kit along with one of the patterned papers from the classic kit to pull this page together. You can see I used a couple of the 3x4 cards and although I could have easily made a pocket page I ended up opting for a more traditional layout instead.
I also photographed a couple of my daughter's papers from school so I could add those to the page. I've found over the years that with 3 kids this is one of the easiest (and least bulky) way to include their artwork & memorabilia in their scrapbooks. And in case you're wondering - yes, after I've taken photos I will usually throw away the artwork. Gasp!! I know, I know. But there's just no way I can keep it all. However, I do keep some of my favorites so not everything gets thrown out!
I love that it worked out that I happened to have '2' and '3' cork numbers in my kit since that is the exact number of tricks that Silly McGilly played on the class ;)

Side note: be careful when using adhesive with the cork embellishments. They have a tendency to rip easily! I had that happen with one of mine but managed to fix it :)

Spring Decor with the Delightful Classic Kit

A few years ago I began to take stock of our holiday/season décor and realized besides Christmas and Halloween the decorations were pretty sparse.  Each year I have been adding a few things.   I decided with the rest of my Delightful kit I would add to our Spring/Easter décor on our fireplace mantle.

The first thing I decided to make was a banner using the colored doilies from the kit.
I counted the doilies and determined from there I had enough yellow to spell out Spring and with one blue I could do one accent in the center.  I didn't want to break up the word spring but decided with the amount of dollies in the kit I would make it work.

I cut the pendants from several different pattern papers, matted them with cardstock, and attached a strip of pattern paper to the top.  Using my trusty score board I made the folded paper medallions and topped them with pattern paper and letter stickers.  Once the pendants were put together I hot glued them to the ribbon and finished with smaller bows tied with a button and baker's twine (from my stash) at the ends.

The center accent pendant I embellished with a paper butterfly.

After I got the banner finished and hung I decided to make a bunny box to compliment the egg shaped box I put together last year.

He (she?) was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.  He was a bit of a pain to glue together, but once finished I determined it was worth it.  I finished him off with a bow and some of the puffy flower stickers from the kit.

And there you have it a few more holiday items for my house.  Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today.  I hope you were inspired to make holiday décor with your kit.
Happy crafting!

Cardmaking with the "Delightful" Daily Diary Kit

Happy Monday!  I'm here today to share a few cards I made with the "Delightful" Daily Dairy Kit.  The kit is so versatile, not only can it be used to make project life pages, but I used it to make a few 12x12 scrapbook layouts, and some cards.

I mainly used the Echo Park "Flora" alphabet sticker sheet and a few of the Becky Higgins 3x4 project life cards from this month's kit to create these greeting cards.  I used a little bit of cardstock from my stash, and a few enamel dots and silk ribbon from a previous Noel Mignon kit.

The cards went together pretty easily, I concentrated on adding layers with stickers and pop dots to create some dimension.  But I kept them pretty clean and simple.

I added some handwriting to the "you are my sunshine" sentiment on the front of this last card.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I can't wait to see what other projects our design team posts this week.

May 2016 Project Life - March DD Kit: Delightful

Hi!  Sarah here with a project life spread from May of last year.  Yep, I'm going back and getting some of last year done.  This is actually a continuation of the month for me, it's after school got out and right when we went on our trip to Florida to visit family and went to Disney World.  This week, we are challenging everyone to use spring colors!

For the left side of the spread, I focused on the Disney part of our trip.  One of my main starting points was the Magic card on the left.  It came in the kit and gave me the inspiration to work on this month.

For the right side of the spread, I focused on our time with Josh's family and some friends we got to meet up with.

For the title card, I layered up a 4x6 and a 3x4 card from the kit.  I did some journaling on it and added the wood label with the month and a Freckled Fawn feather.  I also included one of our plane tickets.

For the center of the spread, I included two of my favorite pictures of my girls from Disney.  I also included a package from my FAVORITE sweet treat ever that they gave us on the plane....STROOPWAFELS!!!  These are amazing little caramel wafer cookies from Europe.  I was shocked when they handed them to us!

For the bottom, I included a big family photo of us on the last day of Disney.  We had dinner at BOMA at Animal Kingdom and it was delicious.  We all had on matching family reunion shirts that we wore all day.  I added to the photo with a cut up card that says "happy together" and a chipboard circle from Freckled Fawn.  And another 4x6 card where I journaled and cut up a couple of 3x4 cards with the mason jar and the "remember this" sentiment.

For the right side of the spread, I focused on our time in Tampa with Josh's mom.  The top cards focus on a tea party that the girls had with their Mamaw.  I used the Pebbles cut apart sheet and cut it into a 4x6 card, gluing the picture on the right side.  And on the right, a fun date night Josh and I got to sneak out for.

For the center, we went to a delicious Peruvian restaurant.  I included the business card and some alphas from the Carta Bella sticker sheet.  Then, my mother-in-law started teaching Caylan how to play with piano.  I also did a journaling card about spending time there, cutting a sentiment out of another card and adding it to the journaling card along with a red heart from Freckled Fawn, and ended with a cut from a mini golf place we went to one day.

And for the last part of this month, I included a photo of some friends we got to get together with.  They live on some property with horses and we got to pet and feed them, which is why I included the gold horse shoe (not included in the kit).  And I ended with journaling about our NIGHTMARE of trying to get back home.  It includes canceled flights, nights in hotel rooms and a rental car to finally just get home.

I hope you all enjoyed it!  Don't be afraid to cut up your project life cards and use them in different ways.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I can't wait to see your spring-colored layouts and spreads!

Butterfly Whisperers

Hello again!

It's me, Becky, back with you today to share another project that I created with the Delightful Classic Kit.

In many parts of the country it is warming up and flowers are blooming and we are spending more and more time outside.

When I think of spring I think of sunshine, flowers and butterflies.

Last year on my youngest's birthday we went to a butterfly exhibit at our local science museum and we got some pretty fun pictures.

Before I tell you about my page, I must ask that you please forgive the quality of my photos this week. My kids lost my camera battery charger and as a result my camera battery is dead as a doorknob. So, I resorted to taking pictures with my phone camera for this week.

I started out with a white cardstock background on the pink patterned paper. I added some pink and gold spray mist splatters since pink was going to be the focal color of my page. Imagine that with four girls! We have gone through lots of pink at our house.

From there I added the packaging (black and white speckled paper) from the Pretty Little Studio stickers, some washi and my collage of photos.

I added the cute aqua-colored Freckled Fawn puffy border stickers and my title with the pink American Crafts Thickers and the yellow Jillibean Soup alphas.

I then added some Maggie Holmes butterfly embellishments ( of course!) and some buttons and chipboard bits and added some gold liquid pearls accents to finish off my page.

Here is one more close-up:

Hangin' at the ballfield!

Hey guys, today I'm playing with the Delightful Daily Diary Kit and a little bit of the Happy Together Classic Kit. I will often 'shop' from previous kits if I'm looking for a particular embellishment or certain colored paper. I didn't have much left from the Happy Together kit but I did manage to grab the red/pink striped paper that added a nice little hint of contrast for the background of my layout.
I also added some of the alphas from both kits for my title. You may notice that I altered a "T" to make an "L"...I've used this alpha set so many times that it was bound to happen that I'd run out of letters! I'm ok with it not being perfect - embrace the imperfection!!

I loved the cork clouds & they tied in perfectly with the cloud paper from the classic kit. I used red line tape to hold it in place and it seems to be holding well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
And I couldn't resist using that gorgeous pink ribbon along the bottom of my page. Originally I thought about tying a bow but was worried that it would add too much bulk to my page. So I opted for the 'messy' look that I've done before on pages...no rhyme or reason, I simply add some adhesive, press the ribbon down, & the stitch to keep it set on the page.

Easter Eggs with the Delightful Classic Kit

The first day of Spring!  My favorite season hands down.  I love the spring flowers, warm but not hot weather, the longer days.   Yeah Spring is pretty great.  This week the design team was given the theme of Spring.  I chose to make a bright Easter layout featuring photos from our egg dyeing a few years ago.

I started with the white cardstock and layered pattern papers on top.  I then used glitter mist from my stash to splatter ink on the top and bottom.

I placed the letter stickers to spell out my title and used labels from my stash for my date and finished this area up with one of the arrow paperclips.

I kept most of the layout pretty simple besides the pattern paper and title and finished the embellishing off with three of the Maya Road resin flowers.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, Happy Scrapping!
