DIY "Life Lesson" Embellishments-"Country Life" Classic Kit

I have made quite a few layouts using my "Country Life" Classic Kit.  So today I decided to use up some of the scraps and leftover bits and pieces to create some unique layered embellishments. I will use the embellishments on future layouts that feature various life lessons.

I started out with these scraps and leftover embellishments from the kit...

Then I grabbed a few of my favorite punches...

Next, I cut some of the "life lesson" sentiments from 2 of the papers...

After cutting the sentiments, I matched some of the scraps to each sentiment.  I tried to use scraps with colors that coordinated, yet popped with the colors on the sentiments...

After I choose the scraps that matched, I started pulling leftover embellishments from the kit to coordinate with each set.  A sticker here, a button there, some lace, a rub on, and the mason jar paperclip completed this step...

Finally, I started working on putting everything together and gluing it into place...

A few close up shots...

I can't wait to use these up on some layouts!!!

If this inspires you to use some of your scraps to create embellishments, post pictures (or a link) in the comments, I would love to see them!!!

Happy Scrapping!!!

Life Lessons with the Country Life Daily Diary Kit

Our Life Lessons theme continues this week with my Project Life page using the Country Life Daily Diary Kit. My lesson is to embrace the everyday. It's very easy for me to get wrapped up in commute, work, commute, repeat. The routine becomes boring and tedious and I forget to enjoy the small things! I love summer ... it's a time to enjoy the longer days and embrace the everyday. Here's my PL page.
I used my handy dandy Fuse Tool again for this page to create a small shaker pocket with various sequins inside and adorable epoxy bees on the outside.

All my photos were printed with the Collect App and Pic Monkey.

Here's my last few close-ups.

We would love to see how you incorporate your Life Lessons in to your Project Life Pages or Layouts - please share them on the Noel Mignon Members Page. Stay tuned for more Life Lessons ideas from the DT!!

Learning From Daddy

This week, we are celebrating Life Lessons. We'll be bringing you our versions of our life lessons through our layouts, and we very much hope that you will show us yours, over on the Facebook Members page!

Here's mine:

I can't even tell you how happy this photo makes me. I was washing dishes one afternoon, and looked up to see Eric teaching Reed how to water the tiny little patch of grass we have. And it was awesome. Reed was watering like a pro, and you could see how proud of himself he was. Heart. Melted.

You know what else melts my heart? That denim pocket. Lots. So much so that I had to make a 12x12 layout to accommodate it. Now that's love!

Career Day-"Country Life" Classic Kit

Hi again!  I have another layout using the "Country Life" Classic Kit.  I totally ADORE this kit, it's so bright and fun!!!

When I saw the sewing/crafting themed papers and rub ons from Jillibean Soup in this kit, I knew exactly what photos I wanted to use.  My daughter had to dress up as a career she would be interested in for Spirit Week at school last spring.  She decided to dress as a Fashion Designer.  Best of all, the colors in the photos I took worked PERFECTLY with these papers!!!

The denim pocket from Inaginisce could not have been more perfect to add to a page about fashion design.

The little stitches on the Jillibean Soup rub on sheet were a subtle little addition to the journaling strips on this layout as well.

And to add some texture, the May Arts blue lace was just what I needed!

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope you are inspired to pull out some bright fun photos to use with the "Country Life" Classic Kit.  If you don't already have the kit, I believe there are still one or 2 left in the store.  Have a great weekend!!!!!

more pool party!!

Hey guys!! I had last week off and I'm back to share another layout with the Pool Party kit!! I believe the classic kit is sold out but there's still a couple of the Daily Diary kits left. And even though they are geared toward pocket scrapbooking you can certainly use them for traditional scrapbooking.

I know a lot of kids are heading back to school but we still have a few weeks of summer vacation left here in WA and I wanted to get these memories scrapbooked before the fall hits and I'm in total pumpkin mode!
I bought my little one a new pool this year and, of course, my golden decided that it needed his seal of approval as well!! He gave it 2 paws up ;)
I really liked the cloud paper with that cute sun. But using the entire sheet caused my photo to get lost. So I decided to cut some rays, sunbursts, big triangles...whatever you want to call them. I did a similar layout last year - you can see it here. I love using this style because it adds a lot of movement and visual interest to your page and the bonus part? It's super easy to create!! I simply cut one edge of my paper down by 2" so I can then slide my paper around in my paper trimmer to cut the angles I want.
I added stitching to further add detail to my page. Add some of those super fantastic embellishments that came with the kit and voila!!

Country Life Daily Diary Giftbox

Hello! Michelle Zerull here, soaking up the Summer sun and enjoying the Country Life Daily Diary kit. In my heart, I will always be a crafter first and foremost. The papers in this kit are gorgeous and perfect for a fun craft project. I fell in love with the pretty pink calico print "B" side paper and couldn't wait to cut it up and make something.

I only used half of my 12x12 paper. The rest I can use later for another project. I used my Sizzix to make my little giftbox, but you could easily use the kit to decorate a pre-made box as well.

All of the papers and embellishments came directly from this kit. The only thing that I added was some matboard and glue. Even the green gingham button embellishments are in the kit. They made the cutest little drawer pulls!

Each month the NoelMignon Daily Diary kit consists of many papers and embellishments that can be used for pocket scrapbooking a lot, lot more. I hope that I've inspired you to look at the supplies a bit differently. Don't forget to share your projects on our NoelMignon Members Facebook page. We love seeing what you've created!

Hello, I Adore You!

Pardon the crappy lighting. I procrastinated myself right into the wee hours this morning. And wow. Does my studio light not flatter anything. Not a thing. Anywhooo....

This Country Life kit is so stinkin' fun to play with! I am not normally a primary color kinda gal, but this is just so fun and cute and wholesome and and and and... I could go on....

We took a trip to see my mom a few weeks ago, and my little guy fell in love with the backyard watering bowls and ponds. Couldn't get that kid back in the house.

But, can I just say that I am loving that 50% photo concept? I printed this right into the center of my 8.5x11 cardstock, and built around it.

I just can't help but cluster all those fun little doodads. The red gingham ones? Swoon!

Those watering cans. You you just not even handle it? Nomnomnom!!!

And you know what else? Noel put that date stamp in a kit about a thousand years ago, and I use it ALL THE TIME! Probably my very favorite thing in any kit, ever. LOVE!
