Awesomeness!

Hello!
Veronica here using Miss Nelson! This is an insert into my Project Life album. I am SO behind on this project, but I refuse to give up! Here is a week in MAY!! Yes, I know.... I used the Amy Tan paper, some free cut files on the CT blog, SC and MME labels, sequence and some enamel dots from the previous kit!
Sometimes I get overwhelmed with size of Project life and so, I use sleeves from my Basic Grey Capture album.
Hope you have a great week!!!

Not Again!!

Hi everyone! Amanda here with a layout to share with you!

I really loved this chevron paper from Fancy Pants that was included in the Our Summer kit. The colors were awesome, and I really wanted to use it. I couldn't bring myself to cut it up though, and its way out of my comfort zone for a background. I decided to just go for it though!!

So since I was already out of my comfort zone,  I decided to just have fun with this. I literally just started adhering, and went with it! I really love the way it tuned out too! I might have to try this method more often! :)

I thought all these fun bright colors went perfectly with my photo and story. We were at a skate party this past winter, and my youngest daughter wanted to get out there and skate so bad, but she had never been before. So, of course, she never got very far before falling. Every time she went down, her hands would go to her head, and she would give and frustrated "Not Again!!" lol. I loved how even though she got frustrated with it, she had a blast, and never gave up!

I have had so much fun being the guest designer this month! Thank you to Noel, Virginia, and the rest of the team for welcoming me in with open arms...and thank you to all of you for all the sweet comments you left for me! :)

Pick of the Patch & Project Life

I can't lie - when I opened my Union Square kit this month I was SUPER excited at all the goodies in this one. The perfect mix of muted tones of autumn with a few pops of color to spice it up :)  I couldn't wait to dive in & start creating!!  We recently went to our first pumpkin patch of the season & Nicholas bypassed all the usual pumpkins & went straight for the bumpy, lumpy, odd-shaped gourd :)

 photo pick_zps1dc792e0.jpg

I loved the block font of the large brown alphas & decided to break it up a bit with some words cut from patterned paper & my Silhouette.

 photo pick1_zps6350eb0a.jpg

Up to this point I hadn't jumped on the feather trend, but the paper ones in this month's kit were perfect to tuck behind this tag :)

The included stamp set was awesome.  I stamped the "good stuff" sentiment on some vellum & punched it out with a circle punch.  Then I tucked it under some embellishments & stapled it to the page.  I also used the arrow border to create a fun accent above the photo.

In addition to my Union Square layout, I have a Project Life spread using the Miss Nelson PL kit from last month to share :)  I did not have a lot of pics for this particular week so I used an 10" x 12" page protector for the left (Design G)and a 4" x 12" for the right (Design H).

There are still some extras of both kits so head on over to the store & shop it up!!  I'm having a blast creating with them :)

Charlie's First Haircut

Hi friends!  Here's my latest layout using the Miss Nelson kit, which I have fallen in love with.  I made 4 layouts in ONE weekend using this kit, which might be a new record for me and my super slow scrapping abilities ;)

These pictures are from about a year ago, and back then I saved a cute little curl of my son's hair.  I went to retrieve it (I had been carrying it around in a pill dispenser in my purse like a weirdo) and found it had become all tangled together.  So I retrieved what I could and used a staple and some Gloo to adhere it to the layout.  There's actually a bit more than what it looks like in the photo, some of the thinner strands didn't photograph.
I loved the washi tape to add a dark frame for the upper and lower halves of my layout, plus it made all the pinks I was using a bit more 'masculine'.

And for any of you that haven't signed up for the Masquerade Mini Album class- you should!  There will be fun giveaways offered and it will be full of lots of great ideas.  If you bought the kit remember to save your boxes ;)  I just got my kit in the mail and LOVE it!

A peek into "Union Square"

I got my "Union Square" kit in the mail yesterday and was able to do some playing with it last night! I love that it is a transition-into-autumn sort of kit... not themey, but definitely has fall colors and touches, with fresh patterns and accents!

My scavenger child, Sabby, caught a salamander in our yard the other day. She was so pleased with herself and asked me to take some pictures. Of course I obliged!

I may need to step away from the gold glitter... but Noel sure didn't make my obsession any easier with this kit! Oh my! The sparkly gold accents contrasted with the woodsy colors make me swoon. :)

I cut these leaves out of paper and then decorates the veins with gold stickles. I will probably do this 100 more times because I love it so much.

Make sure to check out the Union Square Project Life add-on kit. It's yummy and complements this kit beautifully!

Try and Try Again

Hi everyone! Amanda here with you again to share another layout using the Our Summer kit!
Do you ever have those times, when you get this picture in your mind of how a layout or project should go, and you get so excited about your "vision" that you can't get past it? That totally happened to me on this layout. Would you believe that I actually tore apart and reworked this layout 3 times!
Usually I am a glue and go girl, but apparently not today! lol

Here is my layout, which never did quite live up to the picture I had in my mind, but that cute baby makes it all ok! ;)

I'll be back next week, with my final project for the month! Thanks for the warm welcome you all have given me, and all the sweet comments! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and take some time to create something you love! :)

Documenting August . . .

Guess what??  I'm back to tackling my Project Life album again!!  The truth is I began earlier in the year & then let it fall off.  I think I was struggling with the process of it.  It seemed to take so long to pick photos, edit them, print them, and then finally fill in all the in between spaces with journaling cards and other embellishments.  As the summer drew near an end, I realized HOW MANY photos I had when I decided to organize them on my computer one evening.  Then the realization came to me that I would never be able to create 12 x 12 pages of all the memories I wanted to document.  I jumped back into Project Life & have finally streamlined the process down over the past few weeks to a point in which I feel is pretty easy to manage.  Not to mention it feels great to be documenting all these moments!  I typically use an hour or so in an afternoon or evening to choose & print photos, as well as lay them out on top of the page protectors.  Then I use another evening to get creative with all the spaces in between the photos.  Here is one of my most recent spreads using this month's Miss Nelson PL kit . . .

 photo fullplnm_zpsf41002f2.jpg

Overall I am trying to keep my pages fairly simple.  I typically begin by filling in all the larger blocks with either pre-made cards, or cards made from patterned paper.  In the title block I added a strip of patterned paper to house my title that I cut from my Silhouette.  I also added one of the Fancy Pants Designs tabs to document the specific week.  The block below that was created from two pre-made cards.  The smaller card was intended for journaling, but I printed a small photo and placed it in the middle of the card.  It made the perfect photo frame!!  The card to the right of that was simply some patterned paper that I added the fun washi tape from the kit on :)

 photo leftplnm_zps040a9942.jpg

For the second page I decided to use a smaller page protector.  To dress up the black card, I added a few sequins that I stitched down.  A few additional stitches here & there, as well as a fun heart Silhouette cut were the perfect way to add some fun details to the  page!!

Selfies and Tassles

Hi friends! I'm so sorry for the late posting today- I was having computer issues last night and didn't realize the photos didn't upload until this morning and I was at work so I couldn't post them....ugh!

Anyways, I'm here today to share a fun technique to try with the awesome paper twine that came with the Miss Nelson kit (sorry, sold out!).  There are so many possibilities with this fun supply-- and I didn't even know it existed! That's why Noel's kits are the best :)  I decided to make mini tassles using the twine and they were so easy. I simply cut an inch and a half of the twine, tied a knot in one end, fanned out the other end and snipped it with some scissors.  Easy peasy!

And don't forget, if you like fun techniques check out my Masquerade Mini Album class with coordinating kit :) Available now to add to your boxes!  Click HERE for the kit and click HERE to purchase the class

Still crafty

Hi there and good morning!
I've got another layout to share using the "Our Summer" kit.
I'm telling ya...this kit is packed full!
I think I've made 2 double-page layouts, 4 single-page layouts, & 4 cards and I've still got a 4 sheets of patterned paper that I haven't even cut into as well as lots of leftover embellies!
Love that!
Anywhooooo, back to my layout...

This one is kind of a "therapeutic" layout if you will.
I've recently cut back on some of my "crafty" obligations (some by my choice; some not).
And that is probably good because I sure have been spending a lot of time on my bike!
:)
Regardless of what happens in the scrapbooking world and in other areas of my life, I will always love making stuff!
OK enough of my rambling!
:)
Here are a couple close-up shots of the page...

I *heart* those corkboard Thickers!

Some times I get on a kick with my heart punches.
This is one of those times.
:)

Thanks for looking and thanks for stopping by the blog today!
:)

Hello, Quiet Days

This is one of those layouts that has been "percolating" for a while. The journaling is me, trying to be honest and true, along with a reminder to myself to savor this time. (Scroll down if you are interested in reading the journaling!)

To create the title, I used my handy dandy Silhoeutte machine and then added to it with one of the awesome chalkboard style labels in the Miss Nelson kit. I love the contrast between the black and the pastels! To make the "shadow" effect behind the word "days," I used the distress marker first, and then went over it with a white gel pen.

I was inspired by a layout my friend (and former DT member) Leslie Ashe created a few weeks ago and wanted to do a BUNCH of hearts. I love how they look layered on top of the scribble and paint splatters on the patterned paper.

Y'all know I love my sequins, and these added just the right amount of random sparkle to the dots on the paper. :)

Journaling reads:

"For a very long time, I have counted down the days 'til my oldest would be 8 and my baby would be 4. In my head, that would be the perfect equation of ages. they would all be roughly interested in the same activities, there wouldn't be nap times to contend with - nor diapers and bottles. I  had longed to be a mama for so long and babyhood turned out to not be my forte`. 'When they're older,' I thought, 'THEN I can have a handle on this whole mama thing.' (Ha!) I suddenly realized that the ambiguous "then" is all of a sudden NOW. My loud days are now quiet mornings with one little girl at home. Lord, let me embrace the NOW with a passionate and brave heart. I don't want to miss a minute of it."

Sweet Little Girl

Hello Noel Mignon fans!!
I'm here with another layout. I an IN love with this kit. The colors are just...spectacular! Can't say it enough! I was hoarding the frame tag that cam in the Miss Nelson kit and decided to use it this time:
I have never used gelatos. I was dying to perk up the card stock in Miss Nelson. You can find gelatos at any craft store

Squirrelly Girly

Hi everyone! Amanda here again with my second guest designer layout!

While I was going through photos for my book theme layout last week, I stumbled across this oldie of my daughter. Its an adorable picture, of course ;), but what stood out to me the most, and brought back a fun memory was the little squirrel on her shirt.

I'm not sure how or why it started, but from the time she was about 6 months old, my husband nicknamed her squirrelly. It actually started out as squirrel, but it changed over time, as nicknames tend to do, lol. When I saw that shirt, it instantly made me think of that, and I realized that I had never scrapped anything about it. This was something that he still does on occasion, and she still gets a kick out of it, so I really wanted to get it documented.

The photo was taken in the fall, but I still thought that the colors in the Our Summer kit worked perfectly with it. I just picked up on all the shades in her shirt, and layered them up adding in hints of the brown and kraft. I found that cute little squirrel border in the silhouette store, and it of course had to go on here!
Everything on this layout is from the Our Summer kit, except the mist and enamel dots. Two things that are go to's for me on most every layout! I am having so much fun with this kit, and can't wait to share the rest of my projects with you!
Hope you all have a great weekend, and take time to create something you love! Link me up in the comments, so I can be inspired by your recent creations! :)
