Monster Invites:)

So I was playing around with the 31st kit - and having a BLAST! I can't wait to really dive into it with some Halloween pics. But I did make a little something to whet my scrappy appetite!

Last year was our First annual Halloween party - yep first time! Alyson wanted one really badly so - of course I thought - we should do it! We just invited my mom, sis, and her fiance - and it was so fun! So of course this year we have another one planned but this time we are inviting a few more people --- yay! Every year it may get bigger and bigger! :)

Well I decided to make some official invites -- because last year I just called everyone and of course I could do that again this year - but that's no fun! Especially since I have all this Sass Monstrosity paper around - I had to use it!
They are really simple cards - that are only 3.5x4 in size. I ran them through the cuttlebug, litghtly painted over the embossed circles and then used some pop squares to adhere the monster frame. I then used the embriodery floss that was in the kit to embellish a bit. SUPER easy and fast! Give it a try!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! It's almost Friday ;)

Core Curriculum Pages

I have a couple more pages to share with you today using the Core Curriculum kit. :)

List Maker
- I'm a list maker . . . and I've recently discovered that my daughter is too! For the first day of school, my daughter had written out a darling list of things she didn't want to forget and things she needed to do to get ready. I found it sitting in her room after she had left for the day and swiped it to include on this page. Hehehehe! :)

On a recent trip to the dollar store, I was drawn to the wall full of kitchen towels. I decided to grab a few to play with on my pages. Here I used a section of one as a layer on my page, stitching it to hold it in place.

I ran another one through my die cut machine to create these cute layered flowers. I can't wait to make more! :)

Stream - My son and his buddies love to explore the stream next to our home. They love to dig for worms, catch bugs, build bridges and collect rocks. I just love how "down and dirty" they look in these pictures! LOL!

I didn't have the right letters left over on my sticker sheet to spell my title, so I dug through my stash and found some orphaned chipboard letters to fill in the empty spaces. :)

I again used a dollar store kitchen towel to create the star accents on this page. I also used the edge of one as a layer along the bottom of my photo grouping.

Thanks for coming by!

Dollar Store Find: Kitchen Towels

I admit it. I LOVE to browse dollar stores! :D I don't know if it's the thrifty side of me, or the creative side of me . . . but I like to find things that I can change up or alter in some way. Especially if I can use it in scrapbooking. :)

This time when I went to the dollar store the kitchen towels caught my eye with all their lovely colors and textures! I've been wanting to play with fabric a bit on my pages so I thought this would be an inexpensive way to try it out. :)

On these two pages I used sections of a towel as a layer on my page, the same way I would use a sheet of patterned paper. I used large stitches and machine sewing to keep the layers in place.

I also used a gold textured towel to create page accents by running it through my die cut machine. I made layered flowers and stars. LOVE the way these turned out and I can't wait to make a bazillion more.

Next time you are at the dollar store, try to see materials in a new light. It will get you thinking creatively and push you out of the box. Have fun!

5 items for the challenge

hello...hello....
i thought there for a moment i lost my mojo but it seems i stole Kim's :)

i could not WAIT to dive into the new halloween kit noel just released.
so naturally my 5 items came from this kit.

i don't know about you but i have tried many cutting systems and although Creative Memories is not my style i have to admit i love their cutting systems. Recently i bought the big mammy jammy circle cutter..well...it came package in this cool cardboard with the circle already cut out. So i lifted the top took it out and IMMEDIATELY went to town on this. I think I will habg it on my door at work. If i hang it on the door at my house i get the evening sun and it is hot as hell so i think my stuff would fall off.

I took some bubble wrap and black paint and stamped all over the white cardboard then used the new circle cutter and cut the circle out of the purple paper and used the negative (i will use the circle on another layout) then i lined it with the black ribbon that came in the kit and went to town from there. I haven't yet but i will add a hanger to it and some more ribbon and then it will be fully finished.

Thanks for taking a peek and can't wait to see what you do for the current challenge.

Pumpkin Patch '08 and a little something "For You!"

How crazy is it that the new Halloween kit, "The 31st," already sold out on pre-order??!! You guys are the best!

I got a chance to start playing with this beautiful kit, and after I got done skipping around with glee and clapping my hands at its coolness, I got to work.

The first thing I made was this altered frappacinno bottle. I'm making a basket of fall goodies for my secret sister at church, and no fall collection is complete without candy corn!

I also pulled out some pumpkin patch pics from last year, along with Sketch #28 from Inspired Blueprints, and whipped this layout out.

I used message board member Deanna Misner's cool, non-digi vignette technique to add some depth to my pictures. I am loving this kit and can't wait to show you more!

Beware of Lobster!

I have been playing with the newest kit, 31st (Which has already sold out!).......and let me just tell ya......SO FUN! Such an adorable assortment of goodies in this kit!

I don't know if you know this or not, but I have a sickness......I like to dress up my dog......for every holiday. yep....I spend my hard earned money on clothes. For a dog. But really, when you see this furry lil' guy all dressed up and lookin' so stinkin' cute.....isn't it worth it?? I mean really...just look at him in all of his "lobsterness!"
Told ya I was sick....... : )

Everything on this page was from the 31st kit except for the Thickers. Those were in my stash of stuff.

Have a fabulous weekend!

A little "Core" Card

Hello there and Happy Wednesday! I have a quick card to share with you. I used bits and pieces from the Core curriculum kit. The stamps are not in the kit.

I made this a 4x4 card which is my new favorite size. I love how easy it is to work with - you ought to give it a try!

That's all for now! Have a wonderful day!

Crazy Girl...

Happy Tuesday! I'm still having fun with my Core Curriculum kit, and now I'm creating layouts that aren't back to school pages! This is my crazy girl, Taylor...she has such a fun sense of humor and is always being silly and telling jokes.I actually started out with this idea to create buckles with the Scenic Route rub ons. Then my page took off from there. I applied 2 of the rub ons onto the craft paper, cut them out, and cut slits in the ends of each one. Then I pulled the ribbon through and attached them to my page. (Ribbons weren't included in the kit, they are from my stash.) The title was hand cut by me. I don't have a cutting machine of any sort, so I drew it out on the paper and cut it out with my Cutterbee scissors.
I wanted sort of a colorful, wacky page to go with her colorful personality. What do you think? :)

First Day of First Grade

I decided to use an earthy color scheme on this page of my daughter's first day of first grade. I really love the way the blues, browns, and red play off of each other.

I used the Melissa Frances Die Cut journal blocks as a mask before building my page. I attached them lightly to my page and then misted over them using Rock-a-fella Blue Spritz by Shimmerz. After a few minutes when my page was dry, I doodled around the resulting shape with a black pen for more definition. After building my page, I used these two masked areas as homes for my title and journaling.

As a final touch I added a bit of shine to the paper flowers using Antique Lace Shimmerz paint.

Page created with the Core Curriculum kit along with bits and baubles from past Noel Mignon kits.

Thanks for coming by!

First Day of School

I used the Core Curriculum Kit to do a LO this week...finally!! The only addition outside of the kit were the silver Thickers and then navy blue small letters. I love this photo of the boys on the first day of school.

On another note the new October kit "The 31st" has sold out on pre-order, but I may have a few extra after the 28th. If anyone would like to be notified of any extras please shoot me an email (noel@noelmignon.com) and I will add you to the wait list.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

About to Pop & One Fall Day

I've had this layout planned in my head for quite a while, and finally sat down to do it!

I cannot tell you how many times I hear the phrase "You look like you're about to pop!" whenever I go out and about these days. I've heard it soooo many times in the past few years, that I've gotten a little... well... irritated about hearing it! hehe I figured this was something I definitely needed to document!

As soon as I saw the die cut paper from the Five Foot Two kit, I knew that was what I was going to use as part of the whole "popping" theme. I continued that concept along with lots of circular accents.
Layers of patterned paper, die cuts, and lollipop flowers....

A little sparkle is added to the alpha stickers with some stickles.

I'm writing this post early and setting it to post later... wouldn't it be wonderful if by the time this posted, I'd "popped!" ;)

*****

Here is my layout for the current challenge! If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure to! The prize is PHENOMENAL!!!

I used bits and pieces from older kits that I've been hoarding:

Day By Day
Cornucopia
Lovely Day
Five Foot Two
I kind of got a little carried away with all my embellishing, but I was really in a "Fall" type mood! :)

8th Grade

I took these cute pics of my daughter on her first day of 8th grade. She had her new little skort and sweater on! I used Noel's Core Curriculum kit for the entire LO. (Which is sold out!) I adore this kit with these pictures of my girl together!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

When I first saw this paper in the Core Curriculum kit I knew I wanted to do a page about our ever going life... and the arrows pointing this way and that were perfect! (I swear that's how I feel all the time, don't we all? lol)

Thanks for taking a peek!

Check out the store I *think* there are a few more of "The 31st" Halloween kits still available for preorder... hurry though, they are going fast!! :)

Core Curriculum

Hey there! Just popping in to bring you a couple of things I have made with the Core Curriculum kit (sold out).

First, I made this card. It is a 4x4 card and I used the Jillibean sketch and have a card ready for my daughters teacher that I am sure I will use sometime this year.

And this one - well lately we have been playing at LEAST 1 game a night. This night it was Hi-ho cherry-o - which is a favorite of mine. I finally got smart and started taking pictures. So here is the layout - using the core curriculm kit. I also used it as my example for the awesome Challenge that Noel has going on. If you haven't heard she is giving away a full version of Lightroom (which is amazing) so get on over and put your hat in the ring. All the details are here.

oh and that cherry - I made with my silhouette. I was originally going to put 2 on the layout but I cut them too big - and I could've re-cut them - but nahhh- just went with the flow and worked around it.
Thanks for looking!
