I love being a mom...

Hey there!! This is Lisa today!

Since Mother's Day is on Sunday I wanted to take the time to write my kids a letter to let them know how much I love being their mom. I know this is a very simple layout, but I did that on purpose. I wanted to keep the focus on the letter I wrote them. It's not a profound or perfect letter, but they loved reading it...and I'm glad I have it documented! I want them to know how I feel. 

Now is a perfect time to create a page to let you child(ren) or your mother know how much you love them!

Making Quick Cards with Jack & Jill...

Happy May Day!!! This is Lisa today!

I have a tip for making quick and beautiful cards!!

Look for papers that are already well established for your base of your card. For my card I started with this sheet of My Minds Eye paper from the Jack and Jill Kit.

Then I cut the base to 4.5 x 5.25 and used the lower left and the upper right portions of the paper. Then I simply played up the elements that were already there, added a few embellishments and sentiment and then I was done! Easy peasy!!

5 things challenge

Hey there! Lisa here today! I totally love the Primrose Lane kit. The soft colors melt my heart! And the awesome combination of all the textures. LOVE!

Playing with the kit gave me the idea to challenge you all with this...use the following 5 things on one layout...1. Stamps 2. Rub-ons 3. Metal  4. Wood  5. Bling/Pearls

In this closeup you can see where i used stamps, wood, metal and rub-ons. I loved this challenge because it forced me to keep layering and I ended up loving this layout SO much.

I love the girly paper here...I wasn't even sure I'd use it when I got the kit but I'm so glad I had it. It was perfect for this layout!!

And the cute paper clips...LOVE!!! 

I hope you find this challenge as much fun as I did!!

Happy Birthday with Primrose Lane

Hey there, Lisa here again today!

The other day I needed a birthday card and when I was going through my stash I noticed that I didn't have many very many, and those are the cards I need the most!

Then I got the Primrose kit and it is perfect for birthday cards!!

Like usual I used the same design and made 2 cards. I love the soft colors in this kit!!

Project Life with Primrose Lane

Hey there! Lisa here today!

I'm quickly learning that using a Noel Mignon kit is the easiest way to complete a project life layout. I'm having so much fun working on this project.

Noel does such a good job combining products. The papers all coordinate so perfectly and the extra little embellishments especially the journaling cards (I added some from the store too) work together effortlessly to make the weekly layouts beautiful!

I'm working on getting caught up right now so this is the week of March 12-18, but the April kit still worked perfectly with my pictures and stories.

Thanks a Bunch Cards

Hey there! This is Lisa today!

I'm doing really good at creating extra cards each month out of the kits. These ones are so pretty! I love the little Thanks a Bunch on the stamp set in the Homespun Kit.

I used the same design for both cards and just flipped it on the second card!

 

I love using bits from each kit to put together a couple of cards!

I totally love this homespun kit. The best thing about it is that the products mix so perfectly and are so versatile that you can really scrapbook any topic you want!

This first layout here is just a quick page about an impromptu lunch we had one awesome saturday afternoon! I love the colors in this kit and all the elements that mix together so well!

And this page here is from my Take 12/Green challenge last week. I loved how easy it was to pull this together and keep the focus on the green photos!

Happy Spring everyone!!!! There's a lot of crazy weather going on...we are like 40 degrees warmer than normal here in Michigan. I've already got a farmers tan going on...in March...it's CRAZY...crazy AWESOME!!!

Green Challenge...

Hey everyone, this is Lisa today!

Since March is the month of green I have a fun challenge for you today! I was doing the take 12 Challenge from Ella Publishing yesterday and I decided to focus on the color green and take pictures of all the things during the day that represent the color green.

So I challenge you to take 12 pictures during the day of the color green...and then create a layout about it. I bet if you start looking you'll find lots of things in your life that are green!!

Here's how the color green represented my day yesterday: 1. Lots of green on the radar...rain, rain rain. 2. Love my green coffee much and green coffee bag. 3. Spinach...love spinach. 4. Oops, ended up with green pain all over my hand working on a project. 5. Added a splash of green to my layout yesterday. 6. My view of the green(ish) outdoors while I was working out. 7. More green on the radar, with a bunch of thunderstorms that brought some excitement in the form of tornado watches. 8. My green car is in much need of a washing. 9. My radio in the car is even sporting some green for the month. 10. Dreaming of cutting down these ugly trees and putting in a garden this spring and growing lots of new green things. 11. My husband painting our daughters toes green. 12. My nails painted green for the month!

I was busy taking my photos until late last night so I'll be back soon with my layout that I'll be putting together using the awesome Homespun kit...which is perfect for focusing on the color green for March!!

A pleating good time...

Hey there!! This is Lisa today!

I have a fun and simple layout to share with you all today. Pleats are nothing new, but they are a fun way to dress up an other wise flat layout! I created this layout using the awesome Homespun Kit!

I used a scoring board to create my pleats.



First I adhered my pictures to the middle of the paper and then I scored my paper at a 1/4" and then another 1/4" and then 1/2" and then a 1/4" and then a 1/2" and then a 1/4" until I read the end of the paper. I did this on the top and the bottom of the pictures.

Then I folded the pleats at the top of the page to go towards to the bottom of the page (towards the pictures). And then I folded the ones on the bottom of the page to go towards the top of the page (towards the pictures).

Then I adhered it to the middle of the layout and then went kind of crazy with the sewing machine to stitch down the pleats! 

I added my title and went even more crazy with the sewing machine!! I just had fun with the sewing machine!!
