Halloween is Around the Corner!

Good morning and happy Sunday to you!! Can you believe it is already October? This year just seems to be flying by! I am getting in the holiday spirit......I've been decorating my house for Halloween all weekend! So I decided to pull out last year's Halloween kit, 31st! Just a quick, cute lil' card for my niece and nephew!
I did add some googly eyes from my stash! Can't have an eyeless pumpkin now can we? ; )

Have a great Sunday! Thanks so much for poppin' on by! : )

Spooky Princess

This year we started a new tradition of going to Disney's Halloween Town with some great family friends. Since the trick or treating is at night and it is really crowded I didn't get too many photos - but I did get these when we got there.

I used Noel's 31st kit. The polka dot background is the transparency (make sure to take off the the protective film before using). I attatched it by stapling it to the white cardstock.

Underneath the big I place a circle a little bit smaller than the one on the transparency. It added a bit of color to the page.
To make my photo pop I made one black and white and one color. I also matted it and used pop dots to make it stand out. And can I just say right now how much those Pink Paislee alphas rock? I love them and those little swooshes add a perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween 2003

In case i haven't told you i dig halloween. I love dressing up probably just as much as my kids. My best friend and her mom(who happens to be my neighbor) always has an adult halloween party. I still haven't decided what i am going to be this year. better get to thinking huh?

Anyway..this is a layout i did when mason was around 18 months. I was pregnant with Melana so I was pregnant minnie. Truth be told I was struggling to take these pics because i was soooo not feeling well at this point in my pregnancy. LOL!

I attempted to glitter my spiders but either i don't know what the heck i am doing or what the malfunction is but those spiders looked quite jacked up in my opinion. ahhh better luck next time i guess. As much as i love bling and glitz and sparkly...glitter and i have NEVER got along unless it was stickles. Maybe because i can't seem to get stickles in my ears and up my nose like i do glitter. Is it just me or does everyone dig glitter out their ears and nose for days after playing with it. Inquiring minds want to know. Now is the time to fess up and make me feel better.....or like a dork... tee hee!!

See ya next week!

Well hello there

I apologize for the late posting -- it has taken me over an hour to do this - I left my computer on and it was so slow - so I finally rebooted it and all is good:)

So I have been in a bit of a creative slump - BUT I have been wanting to create - just no time! I did create this little witch hat using the 31st kit. The hat was bought at a local craft store for under 3bucks. I picked 3 pieces of pattern paper that I liked and went with my sort of vintagy Halloween theme.

I then just tore strips of paper and got the good ol modge podge out. And just a little hint - if you can't open the top because it has been so long since you've used it and it is glued shut - just run in under hot water for about 5 minutes and it will be good to go.

And then there was no rhyme or reason to how I placed the pieces on - just had fun with the pieces. I overlapped them and added the Modge Podge as I went.

And because the podge was still tacky I added some clear crystals and some shimmerz for extra sheen!

And I apologize for such a bad bow - LOL! I am mad I didn't notice it when taking the picture - but you can all rest assured that all is well now!

I hope this inspired you to use the kit in more ways than just a layout or a card!

The 31st Kit- it's not just for Halloween!

My friend Whitney took these beautiful shots of me and my new girly while we were in the hospital- on my 30th birthday! I couldn't wait to scrap them and my very special birthday gift. :)

I used the new (and sold out) "The 31st Kit"- and even though it's mostly Halloween themed product, I was able to incorporate it very nicely into this girly-girl birthday layout.

(I did add a piece of October Afternoon paper from the Five Foot Two kit, along with these fabulous labels .. and for what it's worth, the labels are on sale for $2.16!)

I loved that the Making Memories word stickers had more than just "spooky" words- perfect for my layout!
I've been on a kick lately of punching different sized, randomly placed holes into my scalloped borders. I think it adds a fun touch, especially when you layer something with color peeking through underneath.

Diggin' up Old Photos....

We are redoing many rooms in our house, which means many picture frames were cleaned out and I had put pictures behind pictures. I came across this old picture of my girl when she was only 6 months old. Do you see those cheeks? Aren't they the most pinchable cheeks you've ever seen? Her dad had taken her for her first Halloween portrait all by himself as a way to surprise me. (Cuz everyone knows how picture crazy I am! ) What a sweet guy.......

Now my girl is 14........*sigh* Where does the time go?

Used Noel's 31st kit! (sold out already!) But don't worry, cuz the November sneaks are starting soon.....so click HERE to see 'em!

Monster Invites:)

So I was playing around with the 31st kit - and having a BLAST! I can't wait to really dive into it with some Halloween pics. But I did make a little something to whet my scrappy appetite!

Last year was our First annual Halloween party - yep first time! Alyson wanted one really badly so - of course I thought - we should do it! We just invited my mom, sis, and her fiance - and it was so fun! So of course this year we have another one planned but this time we are inviting a few more people --- yay! Every year it may get bigger and bigger! :)

Well I decided to make some official invites -- because last year I just called everyone and of course I could do that again this year - but that's no fun! Especially since I have all this Sass Monstrosity paper around - I had to use it!
They are really simple cards - that are only 3.5x4 in size. I ran them through the cuttlebug, litghtly painted over the embossed circles and then used some pop squares to adhere the monster frame. I then used the embriodery floss that was in the kit to embellish a bit. SUPER easy and fast! Give it a try!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! It's almost Friday ;)

5 items for the challenge

hello...hello....
i thought there for a moment i lost my mojo but it seems i stole Kim's :)

i could not WAIT to dive into the new halloween kit noel just released.
so naturally my 5 items came from this kit.

i don't know about you but i have tried many cutting systems and although Creative Memories is not my style i have to admit i love their cutting systems. Recently i bought the big mammy jammy circle cutter..well...it came package in this cool cardboard with the circle already cut out. So i lifted the top took it out and IMMEDIATELY went to town on this. I think I will habg it on my door at work. If i hang it on the door at my house i get the evening sun and it is hot as hell so i think my stuff would fall off.

I took some bubble wrap and black paint and stamped all over the white cardboard then used the new circle cutter and cut the circle out of the purple paper and used the negative (i will use the circle on another layout) then i lined it with the black ribbon that came in the kit and went to town from there. I haven't yet but i will add a hanger to it and some more ribbon and then it will be fully finished.

Thanks for taking a peek and can't wait to see what you do for the current challenge.

Pumpkin Patch '08 and a little something "For You!"

How crazy is it that the new Halloween kit, "The 31st," already sold out on pre-order??!! You guys are the best!

I got a chance to start playing with this beautiful kit, and after I got done skipping around with glee and clapping my hands at its coolness, I got to work.

The first thing I made was this altered frappacinno bottle. I'm making a basket of fall goodies for my secret sister at church, and no fall collection is complete without candy corn!

I also pulled out some pumpkin patch pics from last year, along with Sketch #28 from Inspired Blueprints, and whipped this layout out.

I used message board member Deanna Misner's cool, non-digi vignette technique to add some depth to my pictures. I am loving this kit and can't wait to show you more!

Beware of Lobster!

I have been playing with the newest kit, 31st (Which has already sold out!).......and let me just tell ya......SO FUN! Such an adorable assortment of goodies in this kit!

I don't know if you know this or not, but I have a sickness......I like to dress up my dog......for every holiday. yep....I spend my hard earned money on clothes. For a dog. But really, when you see this furry lil' guy all dressed up and lookin' so stinkin' cute.....isn't it worth it?? I mean really...just look at him in all of his "lobsterness!"
Told ya I was sick....... : )

Everything on this page was from the 31st kit except for the Thickers. Those were in my stash of stuff.

Have a fabulous weekend!
