Not Again!!

Hi everyone! Amanda here with a layout to share with you!

I really loved this chevron paper from Fancy Pants that was included in the Our Summer kit. The colors were awesome, and I really wanted to use it. I couldn't bring myself to cut it up though, and its way out of my comfort zone for a background. I decided to just go for it though!!

 

So since I was already out of my comfort zone,  I decided to just have fun with this. I literally just started adhering, and went with it! I really love the way it tuned out too! I might have to try this method more often! :)

 

I thought all these fun bright colors went perfectly with my photo and story. We were at a skate party this past winter, and my youngest daughter wanted to get out there and skate so bad, but she had never been before. So, of course, she never got very far before falling. Every time she went down, her hands would go to her head, and she would give and frustrated "Not Again!!" lol. I loved how even though she got frustrated with it, she had a blast, and never gave up!

 

I have had so much fun being the guest designer this month! Thank you to Noel, Virginia, and the rest of the team for welcoming me in with open arms...and thank you to all of you for all the sweet comments you left for me! :)

 



Try and Try Again

Hi everyone! Amanda here with you again to share another layout using the Our Summer kit!
Do you ever have those times, when you get this picture in your mind of how a layout or project should go, and you get so excited about your "vision" that you can't get past it? That totally happened to me on this layout. Would you believe that I actually tore apart and reworked this layout 3 times!
Usually I am a glue and go girl, but apparently not today! lol

Here is my layout, which never did quite live up to the picture I had in my mind, but that cute baby makes it all ok! ;)

Squirrelly Girly

Hi everyone! Amanda here again with my second guest designer layout!

While I was going through photos for my book theme layout last week, I stumbled across this oldie of my daughter. Its an adorable picture, of course ;), but what stood out to me the most, and brought back a fun memory was the little squirrel on her shirt.

I'm not sure how or why it started, but from the time she was about 6 months old, my husband nicknamed her squirrelly. It actually started out as squirrel, but it changed over time, as nicknames tend to do, lol. When I saw that shirt, it instantly made me think of that, and I realized that I had never scrapped anything about it. This was something that he still does on occasion, and she still gets a kick out of it, so I really wanted to get it documented.

The photo was taken in the fall, but I still thought that the colors in the Our Summer kit worked perfectly with it. I just picked up on all the shades in her shirt, and layered them up adding in hints of the brown and kraft. I found that cute little squirrel border in the silhouette store, and it of course had to go on here!
Everything on this layout is from the Our Summer kit, except the mist and enamel dots. Two things that are go to's for me on most every layout! I am having so much fun with this kit, and can't wait to share the rest of my projects with you!

I'll Love You Forever

Hi everyone!! Amanda here today with my first post as guest designer!! First off, I just wanted to tell you all how much fun I had playing along during the Summer Camp week!! You guys are some of the sweetest people I have came into contact with in the scrapbooking community, and the talent! Wow! I was blown away, and super inspired that entire week! :)

When the ladies here told me about the book theme week, I had so many different ideas come to my mind. So I instantly went to my pile of "to scrap" photos, to see what inspired me, when I came across a photo that a friend had caught of my son and myself, I knew what I wanted to do.

 

Who doesn't love this book? When I stumbled across that photo, it easy conveyed everything it made me feel, about the photo, the stage he is in now, and what I know is to come in the future. This little guy is beyond words wonderful, and no matter how rotten he gets sometimes, and let me tell you he can be rotten, lol, he is always going to be my baby...even when he doesn't want to be! ;)

 

So of course, the famous lines from this book made for a perfect title to go along with my photo.

 

 

I loved all of the greens, blues, and yellows in the Our Summer kit. So I focused mainly on items that used those, though I couldn't resist adding some pops of red and pink! :) I kept this pretty simple, I really wanted to photo and title to be the stand outs in the layout. Lots of layering brought the photo up front and center, and I loved that the little "2" veneer made it into my kit. Perfect! :) I am having so much fun creating with this kit, and can't wait to share more with you throughout the month!

Growing

Ever have a layout that looks one way in your mind, but it turns out totally different when you're done?  That's exactly what happened here.

My layout started with the rulers in the Crate Paper Measurement paper found in the Country Lane Kit and the idea to focus on how much Hartly has grown in the past two years.  I especially love that the rulers have months on them, so I could mark the date the pictures were taken.

Originally, I pictured the rulers being vertical and neatly tied with a bow and the flower. However, once I added my pictures and began to layer various elements from the kit such as the butterfly polaroid, journal card and rub ons everything kind of shifted.

And that's the exact reason I love these kits.  Everything coordinates and makes putting a layout together so much easier.

I also love the veneer pieces in this kit especially this little guy which I  inked and stamped with a sentiment and added to my twine bow.

Even though it's not a thing like what I originally planned, I like it. A lot.

Hey Batter Batter

As you can see I stayed fairly close to Julie Bonner's May Sketch for my layout. 

                             

And you can also tell that I had a lot of fun playing with the Basic Grey Hipster pieces from the Country Lane kit.

In fact I think I used just about the entire sheet of decorative tape on this layout alone.  I love how bright and bold the tape is, yet it's still transparent.

Since I'm not big on journaling and the sketch allows for a lot of it,  I thought I would use the Hipster Vintage Stamps and Studio Calico letter stickers as my "journaling blocks."

 

 

 

I used a Kerri Bradford Hey Batter Batter cut for my title which I paired with the adorable H for Hipster stamp. 

You might be wondering why, but he is the spitting image of my son before contacts. Of course, my son totally disagrees!

I can't wait to see what you create using this month's sketch!!

Sweet Dreams

Each night my littlest and I have the same exchange before going to sleep. So, there was no question what I was going to do with the  Dear Lizzy Lucky Charms papers in the Country Lane kit.  I just love that phrase "love you to the stars and back" and it reminds me of the cute phrases Hartly comes up with.

This was the perfect time to try out my new Silhouette sketch pens by drawing the American Crafts mason jars found in the Silhouette store. I am beyond excited that they turned out so well.

I also chose to use the matching phrase which I cut out of the coordinating cardstock.

And what is a layout about loving you to the stars and back without actual stars?

So, I tucked the star tipped pins into my title.

Most importantly I now have this little nightly ritual documented. Because, who knows what she'll come up with next!

Love You More Today

For my Mother's Day Inspired layout I used the Country Lane Kit and dug out pictures of my twins that are just a tad bit old. Ten years old!  Yikes! However, they still remain some of my favorites. I still remember their excitement from this day. It's not every Sunday you get to play with dirt and plant flowers in Sunday School to give your mom.

 

 

My layout started with wanting to use the Crate Paper DIY Project today paper and Elle's Studio tag together.  I just love the typed text print on both. 

 

My title came rather easy as I realized that as much as I loved those two little angels in the picture that my love for them has grown each day.

I used my Silhouette to cut the cream cardstock for portions of my title and added those wonderful Treasure Thickers to finish it.

I wanted to mimic the Elle's Studio tag, so I used the Serendipity Stamp to repeatedly stamp the text onto cream cardstock.  I stapled a punched butterfly as well.

I'm thinking I might display this as a reminder for those days.  You know those days that they act like the teenagers they are.

Heart This Moment

I don't know about you, but when my kits arrive I always tend to have a favorite paper or embellishment. This month's Country Lane Kit was no exception as I think I actually gasped when I saw the Sky's The Limit Layered Ephemera paper from My Mind's Eye.

So, it's no wonder that it was the first piece I  reached for when I decided to use this photo of my oldest daughter and her friends from Friday's 8th Grade Formal Dance.

Not wanting to cut it at all I simply trimmed the edges and stitched it to my base paper.

As a fan of banners I created mine from punching several coordinating sheets of paper and adding the paper pieces from the decorative brads set.

And just when  I thought the Gold Daiquiri Thickers from last month's Melrose Kit could not be topped along came these Dear Lizzy Treasure Thickers. Love them!

I used the top portion of the Elle's Studio Serendipity Stamp to complete my title.

All of the items used on my layout are from the Country Lane Kit with the exception of the American Crafts Pool ribbon which was from an earlier kit.

Snow Day

Hi, Everyone! My name is Jana Eubank and I am so excited to be Guest Designing at Noel Mignon for the month of December! I have been a long-time fan of Noel Mignon kits, and in my opinion, they are the only kits you will ever want or need. Noel has such a talent for combining the latest and greatest products together in such a way that gives me my monthly "fix". She always seems to read my mind and include the exact products I have been pining away for, as well as new ones that I wouldn't have thought to try . . . and quickly become new favorites! She has such a talent for making me feel creative with her kits. Thank you, Noel and the rest of the team for having me!

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you using the brand NEW Mistletoe & Holly kit (Hurry! Only two left!). The first snowstorm of the year is always a magical day. My kids can't wait to don their snow clothes and head out for some slippery fun with their sleds. It doesn't matter if there are only a few inches on the ground, they find a way to make a snowman and take several rides down the hill before it melts away again.

For the color scheme on this page I decided to pull out the white, kraft, pink and blue colors from the Mistletoe and Holly kit. These colors look great with my daughter's snow clothes and portrays the ice-y feeling that I was going for. I used my Cricut machine to cut a few snowflake accents from the white cardstock and added a My Mind's Eye pink gem to the center of each one to make them sparkle and tie in with the rest of the page.

I am in love with the Pink Paislee wood accents included in the Mistletoe and Holly kit. They have such a great vintage feel about them with their cream color. I gave them a "dusting of snow" by adding glitter to them. I also added glitter to the pennant border strip, as well as the top edge of the blue patterned paper layer at the top of the page. I love the way glitter always adds that perfect wintry touch!

two layouts to share

hey guys! stephanie howell here. :)
hope you are having a fabulous, scrappy tuesday!
i have two layouts to share today.
i'm a fairly simple, easy to lift scrapper...no complicated techniques or ideas for the most part.
because of that , most of my layouts don't require explanation. hmmm, maybe i'm a no frills scrapper? i like that and it suits me right now. :)

so anyway, here you go...gosh, i love the colors in this kit.
made me want to scrap so many fresh, happy memories.



first up is an 8.5x11 layout i did. it's on white cardstock, sorry it blends into the blog background!!

i peeled the top layer off of the chipboard alphas to give them a kraft look...this suited my layout better than red did. the other thing i did was cut one of the KI Memories border stickers in half down the center.

here's my second layout, the colors against the kraft are so delicious!

it makes me happy!

First and foremost, I want to say a big thank you to noel and the fabulous DT by allowing me to guest design this month.

I had so much fun playing with the Playdate kit and I thought the happy colors were just perfect to scrapbook this sweet birthday photo of my daughter, Harper.

Do you ever scrapbook photos just because they make you happy? No stress, no rules...no "catching up", just scrapbooking whatever catches your fancy?

Well I do. I often call myself a "fly by the seat of my pants" scrapbooker.

I chose this photo just because it makes my heart so happy I can hardly stand it. Simple, yes?

i just love the gorgeous Pink Paislee rubon. it's so elegant and so...well, me! i have a thing for scrolls and damask.

i embellished it with red jewels:


and of COURSE i had to add a bow and some scallops.
a tiny touch i added was cutting a "4" from the JBS bingo card to signify the birthday harper was celebrating:



so there you have it.
my challenge to you this week? scrap a photo just because it makes your heart happy.
