Fall Banner with the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit

Fall y'all!  I love, love, love fall.  This year I am a little sad since I am usually crazy decorating our house for the upcoming holidays and this year my living room is full of boxes.  To make myself a little happier as moving day is quickly coming I bought a few little pumpkins and whipped up this little fall banner with the Apple Crisp Daily Diary Kit.

I used foam adhesive to place the large die cut letters on the Becky Higgins Project Life cards.  To add a little more color I added some teal ink around the edges of the cards.

I then cut tabs from the Echo Park pattern paper and stapled them to the top of each card.

I strung them on the yellow Maya Road twine and hung it off the pumpkin stems since I have already taken down on the hooks from my mantle.  I am so happy with this cute little banner and the decorator inside of me is incredible happy to have a little color added to my mantle for the last time.

And for a real life look here is a snap of my current mess.  ;)

Crafting can be such a nice break!  Hope you are all enjoying a little craftiness in your own neck of the woods.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

2016 Priorities-"Sweet Charlotte" Classic Kit

It's "New Year's Resolution" week here on the blog so I decided to create a 12x12 layout about my priorities in 2016.  I used the "Sweet Charlotte" Classic Kit for this layout.

The first thing you will probably notice is that there are no photographs on this layout.   Every so often I will create a layout without photos. I decided that I do not need any photographs to document the planning of my goals this year. If I decide to do a "follow up" layout at the end of 2016---to document how many of these goals I met, I will probably include photos.

This layout in particular, I created with the idea that it will not go into an album. But instead I will display it either in my kitchen or my front room. This way I can see it and be inspired to keep plugging away at my goals all year long. Since I am not planning on putting it into an album, I felt very comfortable using thick embellishments, like the Pom Poms and the flowers.  I would typically not use these thick embellishments on a layout, but rather a card or some type of home decoration.

I "painted" the wood veneer banner using the Heidi Swapp mist that came in this month's kit.  I like it better painted than plain because it is more visible on the layout when it is teal than it was when it was plain light wood color.

I liked the challenge of not having any photos on this layout. It was more about the process and the artwork than trying to enhance the photographs.  Do you ever create layouts without photos?

Thank you for stopping by today!  Happy New Year!!!

About to Pop & One Fall Day

I've had this layout planned in my head for quite a while, and finally sat down to do it!

I cannot tell you how many times I hear the phrase "You look like you're about to pop!" whenever I go out and about these days. I've heard it soooo many times in the past few years, that I've gotten a little... well... irritated about hearing it! hehe I figured this was something I definitely needed to document!

As soon as I saw the die cut paper from the Five Foot Two kit, I knew that was what I was going to use as part of the whole "popping" theme. I continued that concept along with lots of circular accents.
Layers of patterned paper, die cuts, and lollipop flowers....

A little sparkle is added to the alpha stickers with some stickles.

I'm writing this post early and setting it to post later... wouldn't it be wonderful if by the time this posted, I'd "popped!" ;)

Here is my layout for the current challenge! If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure to! The prize is PHENOMENAL!!!

I used bits and pieces from older kits that I've been hoarding:

Day By Day
Cornucopia
Lovely Day
Five Foot Two
I kind of got a little carried away with all my embellishing, but I was really in a "Fall" type mood! :)

You Blockhead

Here is one more I have done so far. One of my favorites. I used the Crate Paper "Cowboy Collection" paper, foof a la "dad's ties" buttons, fine line glue, and prima florals.
