Happy Halloween!

Yay for a Saturday Halloween this year! I love having this whole day with the hubbs at home, Mamala visiting for the weekend, and lots of time to go parading around with Reed in his costume!

Did you see this work in progress picture? I just love Buddy the Elf, and lucky for Reed, he does too!

Unluckily for me, I don't have any pictures of that little booger in his entire costume yet, and I could SEE the layout I wanted to do in my head. Ever have that? Where you instantly know how you want to scrapbook something, before you've even taken the pictures? Happens to me all the time.

So I decided that rather than waiting to get that perfect picture, and probably lose the layout idea and umph in the mean time, I'd just go ahead and get the layout done, sans picture. I used my Blue Moon kit, and a few items from past kits, as well.

I kept it pretty simple this time, just grabbing a few things, only layers a few papers, and keeping as much white space as I could possibly manage, so that the focus will be on the two small pictures that will get placed over that layering of papers.

And guess what? Now I'm totally inspired to make up a TON of pages like this. It was fun. It was stress-free, and I can always add more "ME" touches after the photos are placed.

I hope you all have a great Halloween!

good little witch

Hey guys, Michelle here!! I'm playing with the new Golden Delicious kit this week. I still have some projects brewing with my Blue Moon kit but once I saw this kit I had to dig in and at least create one page!! Tell me I'm not the only one that gets totally distracted when new goodies arrive in the mail!!

And let me just say - you need this kit!! It's the perfect mix of fall colors and gorgeous embellishments!!! The photos never do the kits justice and I'm always so, so, so happy when I open my Noel Mignon box every month!!
Now, there are a lot of fun Halloween themed papers and goodies out there but sometimes they're a bit too busy for my layouts. So a lot of times I'll stick with more traditional fall colors/patterns to let my photos shine!

One of my favorite things in this kit are those skinny gold thickers. Perfection!!! I thought adhesive brads were the best thing ever invented...til I saw the adhesive sequins in this kit!!
Happy fall everyone!!!

October Daily Dairy...The Last Pages

Hello everyone! Welcome to the LAST week of October. That is SO crazy.  Wasn't it just August?  Seriously, right?  Well today I am happy to share the last pages of my 6x8 album that I created with this month's Daily Diary Kit.  These kits make the most fabulous pocket page mini albums.  I think I have met my newest addiction!

I chose to use 2 different styles of page protectors.  I love how it mixes things up.  The kit contains so many fun and varied patterns.  On the left hand side of my spread, I used the gorgeous Pink Paislee "Happy Memories" card.  Even though it is probably ideally meant to be used as a horizontal 3x4 card, I decided to use it as a vertical card instead.

I also added in this really cute pink polka dot tone on tone 4x6 card.  I added some typed journaling onto it and then stitched on this cute "a thankful heart" banner from the kit.

On the right hand side, I chose a 4 pocket spread.  I love how this kit came with so many fun cards that keep pocket scrapping simple and time efficient.  For instance the "every family has a..." card alrady comes so cute that no additional embellishing is needed.  I also just loved this grey and white stripe pattern paper so I trimmed this down to size and left it as is.

This bottom right hand card I decided to add a little bit more dimension to it so I adhered a chipboard heart and speech bubble on to it.  I also placed the 'creating a beautiful life' sticker onto it as well.

Voila!  A fun super cute and another complete pocket page spread for my mini album!  If you love pocket pages and mini albums...you will be sure to love the Noel Mignon Daily Diary kits.  Thanks for stopping by. :)

"Pneumonia"-Blue Moon Classic Kit

I have a 2 page layout using the Blue Moon Classic Kit to share with you today...

I like to document real life, and sometimes that means documenting hard times---such as illnesses.  In this particular layout, I chose to document when my daughter came down with pneumonia last winter.  I chose to use the Blue Moon Kit for this layout because the colors in the papers and embellishments matched the photos really well.

Here's a closer look at the left hand side of the layout, this is where I included a majority of the journaling...

And a closer look at the right side of the layout, I try to take some photos close up, and others farther away, in order to portray the whole scene...

I really liked playing with the embellishments in this kit, and added in a couple of items from my stash.  The washi strips from Pink Paislee were lots of fun to add to the embellishment clusters, like the floral one in the photo below.

I seriously love the variety of texture of the embellishments in the Noel Mignon kits every month.  This month, not only did we get some paper die cuts, but we also got a package of crochet hearts, a tulle flower, puffy stickers, and even some glittered die cuts.  The combination of all of these textures work together great on this layout!!!

Thank you so much for looking!  Please share some of your Blue Moon Classic Kit layouts on our Members Facebook Page.  I would love to see how you used your kit.

It's not too late to sign up for the next Noel Mignon 6-month subscription here!!!  Only a couple of more weeks left to sign up for January-June of 2016.

More fun with October's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit

Good Tuesday Morning! I'm back with another Project Life page using October's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit! There are a few of these kits left so grab 'em while they're HOT!! For this page I focused on the Maggie Holmes journaling cards - I love the color palette of these cards. Here's my whole page ...

For the title card, I layered several items, including a frame to give the card some depth.
Here's a few close-ups ...

I fussy cut a few hearts and used one on the door of this adorable house card...
I layered a few embellishments on the card below ...
Of course, I have to include my furry friends as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you grab one of these amazing kits before they are gone! Have a great week!!

Together at the Pumpkin Patch...

Happy Monday! Today I want to share with you another layout that I created with the

There were so many fantastic papers in the kit this month, and I instantly fell in love with this one from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane - Arrow Avenue.  I love the pink with white arrows on the A side, and the gorgeous grey woodgrain on the B side!

That little crochet heart from Bella Blvd was perfect to layer behind my embellishment cluster.  I really love the Simple Stories Self Adhesive Brads too! How perfect is that one with the heart?!!

For my background, I added some touches of mixed media.  I did not use gesso this time, so I was careful not to add too much water.  I used 3 different gelatos and scribbled them on a piece of packaging, then spritzed some water, and smooshed it onto the white cardstock. Next I used the triangle feathers from the owl stamp that came in the kit, and some grey ink and stamped around in a circle.  I repeated this technique with my date stamp and another roller stamp from my stash. I also used my White & Blush Heidi Swapp Color Shine and splattered some all over the page.

For this little embellishment cluster, I really wanted to use the blue Maya Road Polka Dot buttons that came in the kit, but the blue was not the right shade for this layout, so instead I flipped it over, and used the white side! Perfect!

I hope I have inspired you to created some layouts using your Blue Moon Kit!!!

Falling Leaves Challenge

Hi There, Lynn here wrapping up our Fall Crop week over on our Facebook Members Page! Hope you've had fun - we LOVE seeing your projects based on our challenges - keep them coming! My challenge for you today is to use a leaf in some form on your project. This could be leaf paper, leaf ribbon or leaf shapes. I created a Project Life page and incorporated leaves that I cut from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane paper from this month's Blue Moon Classic Kit. The PL cards are from October's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit. Here's my page ... I apologize for my photo quality - I need a new CF card reader so these were taken with my iphone late yesterday after work :(
I added leaves as embellishments to several of the cards - including my title card.
It's hard to see but the leaves have yellow stickers on them that say "WK 40". Here's another card where I layered some leaves as an embellishment.
I created a few shaker pockets with my Fuse Tool around this 4x4 card which also has lots of fussy cut leaves as a border.
So, lets see how you incorporate leaves on your project. Please upload them to the "Falling Leaves" album on the Noel Mignon Facebook Members Page. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week and keep those projects coming!!

recipe challenge

Hey guys, Michelle here! We're nearing the end of our Fall Crop week and I have a recipe challenge for you. I love to bake so when fall rolls around with its cooler temps I'm in heaven because I can fire up my oven and whip up some yummy treats!! And my favorite ones go in my recipe book.

I like to use a 6x8 Project Life album because it's a nice size to have on my counter while I'm baking and I have the option of using a full 6x8 pocket page like this page for larger recipes and the 4x6 size for smaller ones.

Sometimes I include a photo in my album, sometimes not. This recipe deserved a photo since these cookies are ridiculously good!!! I printed out the recipe on patterned paper from the Blue Moon kit (excuse the typo) and used some embellies from the kit. I don't go all crazy with decorating these pages. Afterall, they will get a lot of love over the years (i.e. food splatters on them!)
So the challenge for you croppers is to scrap your favorite recipe, food, place to eat, whatever! You could do a pocket style page, traditional layout, or even a recipe card!

Upload your challenge project to the "Recipe Challenge" album on the Noel Mignon facebook group page here.
And here is the link to the pumpkin snickerdoodles in my layout. If you love pumpkin and snickerdoodles you must try this recipe!! I've already made them twice and now that I've done this post I might have to make them again today ;)

gratitude. a layout.

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday!  I hope you all have been joining in and have been having SO much fun with the Noel Mignon Crop this week over on our Facebook page.  If you have not heard about it yet, please make sure to pop by.  There are a ton of awesome prizes for playing along, and as always loads of inspiration to get you in the mood of changing seasons and sweater weather ;).

So up is my challenge.  I was challenged to document/scrapbook something I am grateful for.  Hands down, this choice was easy.  Even though I am so very grateful for a lot of things in my life.  My family will always and forever top my gratitude list.

In celebration of this gratitude and to play in the crop, I created a 9x12 layout using the October Daily Diary kit.  Even though this kit is created for pocket page type documenting...the products that fill it are so versatile and there is always SO much stuff that I decided to create a layout with it's contents instead.  So here is what I came up with:

I added a photo collage I created on my iPhone and then simply downloaded it onto my computer and printed at home.  I then added a lot of the gorgeous elements from the kit to create some fun textures, dimension and embellishments using pocket cards, chipboard pieces and die cuts.

i also wanted to make sure that i had included journaling on this page.  it is always so important to note down gratitudes and i could not not include journaling on my page.  so i simply added some type text onto my page and then added a few stickers and embellishments i punched out with my circle punch from patterned paper from the kit.

I hope that my layout and challenge today has inspired you to create your very own!  Please make sure to hop on over to our Noel Mignon Facebook page to join in all the fun and enter your own layout to win an amazing prize pack!  Happy creating and see you over there! :)

Hayride!: NoelMignon Natural Elements Layout Challenge

Hello!
Michelle Zerull here this morning with a new challenge! As you recall, this is our Fall Crop week, so be sure to check out our Facebook NoelMignon Members Group to see how you can win PRIZES!

This morning the challenge is "Hayride".....
I would like for you to incorporate a Natural Element into your layout. If you haven't been on a hayride for awhile (neither have I!), you can use another subject. That's what I did.
Here's some ideas of things that you can use...
Leaves, Bark, Twigs, Cork, Moss, Burlap, Straw, Wood, Cotton, or any other natural element that you can think of.

For my Pocket Page Layout, I used this month's Blue Moon Daily Diary Kit, as well Natural Elements. Elements with a lot of texture make a large statement, so I kept my pockets simple.
Here's a tip for using moss:
Using a white glue that dries clear, apply the moss to Freezer Paper and let dry completely overnight. (Smoosh lots of moss down on the paper!) When the glue is dry, you will be able to cut shapes from the freezer paper with regular scissors.

Share your project with us on our Facebook Page. We are looking forward to seeing what you create!
