Thankful for Ten: Home Sweet Home Daily Diary Kit

Hi!  And Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American readers!!!  Today I am coming at you with a layout about how thankful I am for our rescue boxer, Annabelle.  We adopted her when she was about a year old and stray on the streets of San Antonio, TX.  We met her at a rescue center and it was love at first sight for both of us.  She is the perfect dog for us.  She's sweet, gentle and brings us so much joy.  She has just turned 10 this month, and she has been with us for 9 years.

This is an 8.5x11 layout that will go in Annabelle's album.  I used a brown plaid paper from my stash as the background and then used the 6x6 papers from the kit that I still had left.

The Simple Stories chipboard "Thankful" sticker was perfect for my title.  I used the Thickers from the kit to finish it off.  The red project life card was great for my journaling since we definitely felt like she completed our family when we brought her home.

I cut out a piece from the Simple Stories cut apart sheet to create the "so very blessed" collage and added the chipboard "together" to help it round out.  The Elle's Studio cut aparts were great as a sentiment along the left-hand side as well.

The chipboard hearts really helped it come together and finish it off.

Thanks so much for joining us today.  Have you used this kit to document something you are thankful for?  Please share it in our FB group so we can see it!

{2017 Goals} with the "Little Bird" Daily Diary Kit

Hi!  It's Meridy here.  Before I share my layout, I want to share a link to my video showing everything you get in the January 2017 "Little Bird" Daily Diary Kit.  There is so much great stuff in this kit, I wanted to share it with you!  I think there are still a couple of these cute kits available in the Noel Mignon store.

Onto my layout share for today...The Design Team is sharing layouts about our GOALS this week.

Since I will be using the Daily Diary kit every other month, I decided I needed to create a pocket page album, and I wanted to go in a little different direction than a typical "project life" style album. I'm not sure exactly what direction this album will go, but for now, it's to track my goals and progress on my goals for 2017.  This is an 8 1/2x11 album.  I purchased one of the Becky Higgins Project Life Fuse Tools so that I can create my own page layouts and pockets in various sizes.  I really love his little tool, it give me so much creative freedom!

The first layout in my album is where I documented my main goals for 2017.  I used the "Reset Girls" 3x4 cards, since they were preprinted with "plan" and quotes about resetting your life.  I decided to add a photo of my family, so every time I look at my goals, I will be reminded of why I am working so hard to achieve them.

I used some green Thickers from an older NM Kit to write "2017" and stickers from the "Little Bird" Kit for the subtitle "goals".  I added stickers from this kit to all of the cards to dress them up a bit. I also added some of the pretty silk ribbon to one of the cards.

My "word" for 2017 is REDUCE.  I would like to reduce things in all areas of my life, so I noted that on the card as well.

I decided to make one of the pockets into a shaker pocket.  I filled it with a few sequins and sealed it up with my Fuse tool.  I added 2 heart stickers from the kit to the outside of this pocket to complete it.

That wraps up my first pocket page of my new album.  If you made a layout about your 2017 goals, please share it on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page.  I would love to see it!!!

Hearts All a Flutter with Heart of Gold

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Lynn here with another layout I created using February's lovely Heart of Gold Classic Kit.  I decided to make a 8.5 x 11 layout this week to continue with our design team challenge "Hearts All a Flutter". The challenge this week is simply to incorporate an interactive or moving element on your project. This can be a dangling charm, or hidden journaling for example. I chose to hide some journaling on the back of a tag that can be removed and put back easily from my page. Here's my layout ...
I used mostly Pink Paislee Memorandum papers for my page - such a fun collection!
The tag behind the photo of my two love bugs has some journaling typed on it. I can remove the tag easily making it an interactive element.
Come join us in this week's challenge - we would love to see what you create!

Stamping Through the Snow with Sweet Charlotte

Hello Noel Mignon Peeps! How are you all doing? Lynn here to share this week's theme: "Stamping Through the Snow". This week we are showcasing how we used the adorable stamps and Heidi Swapp Color Shine included in this month's
Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit. Included in the kit is a wood veneer frame which I "painted" with the color shine - remember to shake the mist well before using to mix the mica that settles to the bottom (there is a mixing ball in the bottle.) I grabbed a paint brush and painted the color shine onto the frame. Once dry I used one of the stamps on the frame. Here's my page - it's an 8.5 x 11 in size.
Here's a few closeups ...

I roughly laid out the papers on my page and penciled in where the typing would go. I then typed out my journaling on my typewriter and then adhered my papers. I also added some splatters of Color Shine in a few corners of the page.
How cool is the American Crafts cork bow! They are so fun! Here's a peek at some more misting ...
We would love to see how you use stamping and/or misting on your projects! Stay tuned for more projects from the team using these techniques! Have a great week everyone!!!

Oh, Christmas Tree!

What do I remember from our trip to the Christmas Tree Lot this year? Not the adorable picture of Reed by the tree we chose. Nope. I remember him making the mad dash to the netting contraption, with the chainsaws next to it. Because that's my boy. Luckily, the worker guys were beyond sweet to him, and great sports for letting me snap some great pictures!

Kept it pretty simple for this one. And can I say? You can totally use a Daily Diary kit to scrapbook layouts with. This was such a nice little challenge for me - one I haven't done in a while.

This is a true story, but also a pretty big departure for me - I have a hard time just sticking letter stickers to the page. Just feels wrong to me. But oddly, I love it this time! Those little puffy stickers from Evalicious are to die for amazing!

And can I also just say, that "a good memory" sticker was supposed to be above the journaling on the page. But I dropped it. And it stuck. So there it stays. Forever. A love a happy accident!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season so far!

Members Scraplift Week

Hello Everyone! Hope you are all doing well! This is such a busy week, isn't it? Shopping, cooking, cleaning and traveling - I'm tired just typing that! The end result is so worth it - quality time with family and friends! It's a time to appreciate all that we have!
This week the Design Team is taking the time to appreciate our awesome Noel Mignon Members by scrap lifting a member's project! I decided to create a layout this week based on a member's layout. I stayed true to her design except I adapted it to a 8.5 x 11 format. I haven't created this size layout in a while and I forgot how fun it is! Here's my page using this Month's Golden Delicious Kits.
I based my layout on Julie Evers lovely layout. I loved her layering and design. Here's Julie's page.

Here's a few close-ups of my page. I layered lots of patterned papers and bent the edges to give the papers some dimension.
By layering lots of papers together it's easy to tuck embellishments in here and there! Here's a close up of the embellishment in the upper right corner of my page.
Thanks Julie for the inspiration and we appreciate ALL the members of our online family.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Be safe and have a great time with family and friends! See you soon!!!

Happy Halloween!

Yay for a Saturday Halloween this year! I love having this whole day with the hubbs at home, Mamala visiting for the weekend, and lots of time to go parading around with Reed in his costume!

Did you see this work in progress picture? I just love Buddy the Elf, and lucky for Reed, he does too!

Unluckily for me, I don't have any pictures of that little booger in his entire costume yet, and I could SEE the layout I wanted to do in my head. Ever have that? Where you instantly know how you want to scrapbook something, before you've even taken the pictures? Happens to me all the time.

So I decided that rather than waiting to get that perfect picture, and probably lose the layout idea and umph in the mean time, I'd just go ahead and get the layout done, sans picture. I used my Blue Moon kit, and a few items from past kits, as well.

I kept it pretty simple this time, just grabbing a few things, only layers a few papers, and keeping as much white space as I could possibly manage, so that the focus will be on the two small pictures that will get placed over that layering of papers.

And guess what? Now I'm totally inspired to make up a TON of pages like this. It was fun. It was stress-free, and I can always add more "ME" touches after the photos are placed.

I hope you all have a great Halloween!

Together at the Pumpkin Patch...

Happy Monday! Today I want to share with you another layout that I created with the

There were so many fantastic papers in the kit this month, and I instantly fell in love with this one from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane - Arrow Avenue.  I love the pink with white arrows on the A side, and the gorgeous grey woodgrain on the B side!

That little crochet heart from Bella Blvd was perfect to layer behind my embellishment cluster.  I really love the Simple Stories Self Adhesive Brads too! How perfect is that one with the heart?!!

For my background, I added some touches of mixed media.  I did not use gesso this time, so I was careful not to add too much water.  I used 3 different gelatos and scribbled them on a piece of packaging, then spritzed some water, and smooshed it onto the white cardstock. Next I used the triangle feathers from the owl stamp that came in the kit, and some grey ink and stamped around in a circle.  I repeated this technique with my date stamp and another roller stamp from my stash. I also used my White & Blush Heidi Swapp Color Shine and splattered some all over the page.

For this little embellishment cluster, I really wanted to use the blue Maya Road Polka Dot buttons that came in the kit, but the blue was not the right shade for this layout, so instead I flipped it over, and used the white side! Perfect!

I hope I have inspired you to created some layouts using your Blue Moon Kit!!!

Hello There Punkin Face

Happy Wednesday!!

Over on our Facebook Members page, we're having a super fun crop this week! Today I am presenting a challenge called, "At the Patch," and I'd love for you to play along! To play in this challenge, you must make a layout using the color palette you associate with going to the pumpkin patch.

For me, those colors are coral-ee-pink, orange, brown, and a touch of black and white. I know, weird. But I like those Cinderella-type pumpkins, with the warts, and the funny colors, all squat and wonky-shaped.

Of course, I had to layer as many patterned papers as I could manage, and mixed in a ton of stickers, cut-outs amid the layers. I even fussy-cut some flowers and leaves. And can we talk about those wood veneers!? swoon

I have such a hug stash of ephemera, it's embarrassing. So you know how happy it makes me to dump a bunch on my layouts! Layering in some Bradz and epoxy dots, and voila!

Now if I could just manage to get to the actual pumpkin patch to pick out some of my favorite wonky gourds!

Hop on over to the Facebook Members page to share your layout for this challenge - I've got an album all made up for you to add them to!

Day 1 of the Fall Harvest Crop!!!

Happy Monday & Welcome to Day 1 of the
Fall Harvest Crop with Noel Mignon

Please join us this week on the Noel Mignon Blog and over at the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Group to play along for your chance to win some fantastic prizes!!!

Today I am kicking things off with your first challenge

Fall Fashion

My take on "fall fashion" for this challenge is "LAYERS".  As the weather gets colder here in Canada, we start adding more layers of clothing to our wardrobe, so for this challenge I decided to add lots of "LAYERS" to my layout!

I used my Noel Mignon Blue Moon Scrapbook Kit, and some tissue paper to create this layout.  I did a lot of fussy cutting of the flowers from the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane paper that came in the kit.

And here is my finished layout.  I also used some grey and pink watercolour paints underneath my layers to give some depth to my layout.

I challenge you to play along for your chance to win some prizes!  For this challenge you can scrap a layout with lots of "LAYERS" like I did and/or scrap a photo of your favourite fall fashion.  When you are done you can upload your project to the album on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Page!

Also don't forget to stop by the Noel Mignon Members Facebook Group tonight for another chance to play along and win a prize

Changing Seasons

Yes, we're changing literal seasons right now. Fall is (hopefully) upon most of you. I can't say that I'm seeing much of it, surrounded by 96 degree heat and nary a hint of a crisp fall air in sight. BLAH. I just want sweaters and lattes, and cinnamon-scented everything and butternut squash soup and excuses to go shopping. Like, a lot.

A lot.

And I want to make changes in my own life, as well. I feel myself being pulled in new directions, and it's a good thing. Most people feel refreshed in the New Year, or in Spring, but this is usually the time of year for me that I feel most ready for a change of pace.

So it's a Changing Season for me right now. It's time to spend more time. To take more time. To enjoy more time. Because it's easy to forget to do that.

It's also easy to forget to buy printer ink.

So you get a no-photo layout. Because I was not about to take the time to go to Staples, when I know I can just as easily say what's in my heart. And you'll get that.

So take some time for yourself. Document where you're at right now, with this change of season. We love seeing what you do!

And in case you're like me, and blocking all things out but your desire for anything pumpkin-spicee and forgetting about our fun upcoming crop next week on our Facebook Members page, DON'T. Don't forget to join in on the fun with us. Take some time for that.
