Paper Piecing with Stamps

An easy way to get the paper piecing look without too much work is to put those stamps to work.

I started by picking my stamp and the colors that I would need to "paper piece". Since I picked a candy corn stamp - I picked white, orange, and yellow cardstock.

I then stamped the image on each sheet of cardstock with the same black ink.

I then chose for my " base" to be the white cardstock paper. So I cut out the orange and yellow secions of the cady corn. After I simply adhered them to the white paper - leaving the whit tip the same.

I then cut all the images out (this step can be skipped - it just depends on your design) and adhered them with pop dots on a little tag that I made to add to a Halloween gift.

This is really easy and simple and allows you to use your stamps a little differently -- hope you enjoyed it!

*Here is a layout where I simply added to the strip of stammped images -- the only cutting was the layering that I did!

I must confess out of all the Halloween lines this one by far was my favorite.
So much so that i used every bit of it up except for all the stickers and a few chipboard pieces that came with it. I ran out of paper and was still on a roll so i resorted to cutting the packaging where they had samples of the strips. LOL!

My Favorite (Blue Skies Kit)

I did this one with papers from the Blue Skies kit. I added a few extras, some older Heidi Swapp letters, tiny MM letters, Grungeboard shape and I am still making little flowers with my new favorite punch from Martha Stewart. :) TFL!

Costume Party (Ghost Story Kit)

Here is my take on Inspired Blueprints first sketch. Congrats to them on the new site! I did this one with papers, buttons, flowers, brads and little die cuts from the Ghost Story kit. I did the edge of the purple paper with the Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch and even though it's not perfect I really like how it looks! I also added a couple of black shape thickers and I like the "party" feel of the tinsel thickers, so I added those as well. TFL!!

School Days (Blue Skies kit)

This is done entirely with the Blue Skies kit except for the addition of the Jenni Bowlin Frame and the Maya Road sheer. TFL!!

So Thankful

Well needing to send family Alyson's latest school pictures called for some "FALL" inspired cards. Using the Blue Skies kit, I used the fall leaves as embellishments. Applying the crackle paint added the perfect texture.

The Collage Press die cuts were the perfect way to layer on the card. On the inside, I created a pocket to place the pictures. It should keep them nice and safe until family members get them.
Just another way to use some layout scraps from the kit!

Golden Birthday Mini Album

This year was my "Golden Birthday," a new concept to me that a friend told me about, just in time for mine!

(Basically, it's when you turn the same age as the number of the date of your b'day- that sounds confusing- but my b'day is on the 29th, and I turned 29. I've heard that some families do really big stuff for the golden birthdays in their family. Pretty cool.)

I loved all the golden yellow accents in the Homeroom Kit, so I knew I had to make a little mini album about my golden birthday using this kit.

To make the album, I cut pieces of the Hambly overlay in the kit into 4x6 sheets, and then folded 2" x 6" strips of the newsprint October Afternoon paper on one edge. Then I sewed all the newsprint edges together to bind it.

I did some reflective journaling in here, along with some snippets of my life "right now," including prices compared from the year I was born to now, who my friends are, and what music & tv shows I like. I think it'll be fun to look back on!
