Tea Time and My Guys!

What a mix of a title huh! This kit is so versatile it is great for boys and girls!
I was inspired by the paper doily in the kit and remembered a birthday party my daughter went to when we were stationed in Germany and knew this kit would be perfect to scrap that moment! I dug way back in my photos and came up with these photos of Madison at her "tea party" from 2004!

I have had these pictures of my boys sitting around for years and have never pulled them out to scrap, but when I saw this paper with "My Favorite Guy" on it I remember this photo, I simply added an "s" to the end to include them all!

This page pretty much scrapped itself with the large decorative label on the background page... I added a couple pictures and embellishments and it came together in less than an hour! (which for me is pretty quick! lol)

I am SO very excited to be the Guest Designer this month for Noel Mignon... I have been a stalker of her beautiful kits for awhile and was over the moon when she asked me to guest design for May. I have to admit though when I saw it was going to be a vintage kit I whacked my own forehead... anyone who knows my styles knows I am far from vintage! lol...
BUT...
As soon as I pulled pictures for this kit the layouts totally FELL INTO PLACE!! Everything is coordinating and so beautiful together, it makes it hard not to put together a great page quickly! I love knowing too that they pulled me a bit out of my normal comfort box and got me to scrap pictures that I normally wouldn't scrap... if you are on the fence on this kit or thinking you aren't a very vintage scrapper like me I say GO FOR IT... grab up this "Penny Arcade" kit and get to scrapping!!

I know there are not many left so click here to snag one of these beautiful kits for yourself.

Crop Projects and a Layout!

My challenge at our crop this past weekend was to Just Do It! and alter something! :D We all have things that we've collected and held on to with a plan to alter them *someday*. This was a challenge to get you to pull out one of those items and actually do it! :D

Here are the projects I created for this challenge, both were found at the dollar store.

This first one is a craft organizer that I altered for my kids to use as a Treasure Box. They love all the compartments, and enjoy sorting their rocks, leaves, seashells and other special finds into their own little spots. I usually just write their name on them with a Sharpie, but have always wanted to make them "cute" and this was the challenge that got me to finally do it! :D I used the Lovely Day Kit (sold out).

This second project is a wood plaque that I found in the craft section of Dollar Tree. I loved it's shape and knew I could create something with it. When I opened the Penny Arcade kit I realized that all the papers matched the paint in my scrap room perfectly!!! I decided to create a new blog header and then afterwards display the plaque on one of my shelves. :D I LOVE the way it came out!

Finally, I have a new layout to share with you! I made this page using the Penny Arcade kit. This kit is just packed full with so many special touches. LOVE IT!!! The pearls and pins are two of my favorites! I used flower punches from my stash to create the book paper flowers. I also used spray inks from my stash to enhance my background paper! LOL! Thanks for looking!

Take care!

Cousins

I am totally in love with Noel's latest kit......Penny Arcade. It is filled with vintage goodies that will make your heart soar!!! Totally beautiful kit!!! I made this lil' chipboard plaque (Comes in the kit too!) for this sweet picture of my son and my niece. She idolizes my son and follows him everywhere he goes......he rather enjoys that, I think!

Love these papers, the vintage playing card, stick pins....gold Artchix scalloped border......Heck, I love it all! Go HERE to get your kit!!!

Small Space, Big Style

We had so much fun on the boards this week playing with our NSD challenges!

I started off with a sketch that Michelle designed for us, and then kind of veered off on my own route.

I got to use the brand new Penny Arcade kit for this layout. Oh. my. gosh. I'm in love with the vintage/shabby chicness of this kit!!! It is beautiful! (Pssst- Noel still has a couple left, so if you're thinking about getting one, go grab it!)

I got the title for this layout from a show on the DIY network. I like to look at their list of shows to get ideas for layout titles... there were a lot of good ideas there!
I had a lot of pictures that I wanted to include of the details from Emerson's bedroom makeover, so I created a little accordian style booklet that attaches to the page.

A little Penny Arccade

Well I have so lucky to have been able to scrap this entire weekend! Of course there were little interruptions - but none that didn't allow me to keep scrappin'!

And of course I played with the new kit --- PENNY ARCADE -- here it is...

and it is more beautiful in person - seriously!

I created this one for a Challenge we had over on the message boards.

and a couple close ups...
