Happy Camper

Hi there friends! Happy Monday! Today marks my girls halfway point in their summer camp experience. Their camp graciously posts pictures every day of the previous day's activities, so I've gotten to see what they've been up to. These pics could NOT have been more perfect for the Sweet & Simple kit. So I picked on of my favorites, my oldest and her cabin, and got to work. I LOVE that I've been able to scrap some of their pictures before their even home! This is such a great kit!! And it makes me so happy to capture her in the moment.  (She's the one in the blue t-shirt arms wide open, on her counselor's back.)

Anyway, for this layout I chose to marry the Fancy Pants burlap cardstock with the bold stripes of the My Mind's Eye paper in an attempt to get just the right touch of rustic and colorful. I think it worked.  And then of course the kit includes so many "happy" embellishments, and I went with the HAPPY theme, thus "Happy Camper."

I combine my Sweet & Simple DD kit with the main kit a little bit. This arrow flair is from the DD kit as well as the Memories wood veneer and the little yellow arrow.  They were just too perfect for the page, I couldn't resist combining the two kits.

Have a great week!

Sweet and Simple layout to share!

Hi there!

It's Becky with you again today and I sure hope that you had a wonderful weekend.

I am here to start off the week with a layout using the brand new Sweet and Simple kit.

I believe there are still some available so get yours here!

I really like the mix of colors in this kit! For this layout I cut lots of strips of patterned paper to show off the variety of prints in the Sweet and Simple kit. After adding the strips to my patterned paper background I added the cute woodgrain border sticker from October Afternoon. I also added some spray mist droplets. I love getting things like the mist in kits because they last a long time!

I layered lots of elements: this cute journaling card from Chic Tags, a kraft envelope from Basic Grey, cardstock elements from Crate Paper, tape from Queen and Company and a rub-on (P.S. I love you) from Chic Tags.

I really liked how we got two sets of alphas with this kit, like we do with many of them. I like to mix up the different sizes in my title and the little alpha stickers are great for adding journaling or phrases right on your pictures.

What are you creating with the Sweet and Simple kit so far?

We'd love to see!

Berry Pickin'

Hi there friends! I've got yet another layout to share with you using the fabulous Balboa kit (Hurry! there are a few left!) This time of year is perfect for the bright bold colors of this kit. The pictures I took last weekend while we were picking berries were just right. I love the bright pinks with the soft blues and greens.

This layout started out with inspiration of a pocket style page, but it quickly turned more into a layering of photos, papers and embellishments page. Isn't funny how you start out in one direction and the page just kinda winds up going another? Anyway, that's what happened here and I just went with it. I chose to layer a couple of rub-ons underneath the corner pictures, then added papers, tabs, and even a few enamel dots for some added dimension.  The title section was also layered--Thickers, stickers, hand-cut frame on top of another hand-cut out. Just a lot of layering. "On the other corner I hand-cut the butterflies and since they were on the busier side, I chose to leave the rest of that corner to itself. I added a tab to the top and a Chic Tag sticker or 2 to the bottom and called it done.

Anyway, that's a little bit of my thought process and how I go about approaching a layout, or this layout at least. I'm trying to "go with the flow" more and trust my instincts. So far I'm happy with the outcome even if it doesn't look the same as the picture I started with in my head.

Have a happy weekend!

using lots of stickers and rub-ons

Hey there!

It's my turn to share another Balboa project today:

I started out with this grey background from Pink Paislee- one of my favorite papers from the kit ♥ I added some mist to the background and then cut two journaling spots to use to ground my picture.

I wanted to use these Hazel and Ruby conversation bubbles in a fun way so I created this collage near my photo. I added lots and lots of word stickers and Dear Lizzy rub-ons as well as some of the Chic Tags from the kit.

I used my Uniball Signo white gel pen for my journaling to add to the chalkboard look. I also added some small doodles and little hearts on my page with the same pen. This pen is my favorite! You can get one from the Noel Mignon store here.

What are you creating with the Balboa kit?

Have a good day!
