A Beautiful Summer Day

This is one of the last escapes we will have as a family for summer as school is starting up and the days are all about to shift to routine and learning here, so I really wanted to create a page that would  highlight this gorgeous memorable day!

The colors of the cards and papers and sweet sentiments on the stickers really pulled the design together in a fun bold way! I love how the little flower added the perfect little pop of color on the woodgrain sentiment card, too!

the clip and circle die cut were also perfect for layering on one of my favorite pictures

punches of color with the South Shore kit

Hello again!

I have one last South Shore project to share with you before I dig into my "Tea For Two" kit that arrived yesterday! It is even more gorgeous in real life than it is in the pictures! There are only a few more of these kits left in the shop so hurry to the shop and get yours if you haven't already and check out the other new items while you are there.

I love the bright colors in the South Shore kit and thought they would go well with this summery picture of one of my girls.

I started with white cardstock on the polka dot background and added some spray mist. 

I then added some layers of different patterned papers in the kit, lots of punched butterflies which I stapled to the page and tucked a journaling card under my photo. 

I like using punches of color and I think it turned out cute with the butterflies on this page.

Project Life: A Neverending Story

Good morning!

Today I want to share with you another page in my Project Life album. It's not terribly complex, but I'm loving making progress!

I really like to keep things mostly flat in my album, otherwise it's going to end up taking 10 albums to get through a single year. But occasionally I'll either choose to do one or two bulky pockets on a page, or after several fairly flat pages, I'll add a whole page with lots of bulky pockets.

I had a decent amount of journaling on this spread, but I didn't want the whole page to be dominated by my handwriting. So I made a little flip book from that adorable chipboard frame. All I did was back it with some patterned paper, stitch on a little piece of ephemera, and add some embellies. Oh, and of course those gold glitter thickers for the dates. love those.

 Loved this 3x4 cutout. I just added my own handwriting in between, and slapped a brad on the O. Love those Summer Bliss Brads <3 .="" br="">

 Another fairly simple card. Just cut out the center from the Elle's Studio sheet, coated the sides with a little glue, and sprinkled on some gold glitter. Glued it down, then added that sweet little dove over the top.

My Girl Sunshine

Hello friends and hello Friday! So glad it's Friday is finally here! Today I'm sharing a layout that is the direct result of a conversation online--my tendency to create layouts about my oldest daughter and not as many about my younger daughter. SO I specifically set out to design a layout about my 2nd girly, the one who shies away from the camera, in order to document a little bit of HER too. These pictures totally capture her sweet little personality, the one that doesn't like being the center of attention.

 Layered flair, trios of brads, deconstructed Elle's Studio tags, stacked chipboard pieces...there's a little bit of everything on this layout. I also borrowed the little label stickers from my Balboa kit (on sale now), but for the most part this layout is entirely the South Shore kit.  (hint: these two kits make a great compliment to each other) And I know it's been said before, but I LOVE that I can get so many layouts created with just one kit. And they're not skimpy, paper-only layouts. Anyway, I'm really loving all the patterns and embellishments in this kit!

Hello friends!! I have a fun card to share today using the South Shore kit!! The bright colors in this kit are perfect for a simple everyday pick me up card! I like to make a few general cards, and have them laying around for different occasions, and I knew this kit would make for some super happy cards! :)

I knew I wanted to use one of those adorable pin wheels for the focal point, and I just worked out from there. I added in lots of fun little bits and pieces, love these anything goes cards!! This took me just 10 minutes to put together, and I love how everything in the kits work for fun, quick, and easy projects!! Here's a close up for you!

Summer Memories: Make it a Mini

 Sometimes all you need for a whole summer of fun is a mini album. It can be a cute way to celebrate your summer memories and it is sweet (and small) enough that you can even keep it out on your desk or coffee table.

I decided to use a simple 4x6 design using cards and embellishments in the

South Shore Daily Diary Kit

 layering them together in a stackable little book.

The best part is that these cards can stand alone on their own, which means this can still be placed in traditional pocket pages, if I ever would like to do that .

I love all of the many sticker options in the kit this month! That tends to be consistent month after month with the  Daily Diary Kits and I adore that there are so many "flat" layering options, but even the "thicker" options look lovely and are not too bulky, like the bathing suit wood veneer on this card

I hope this inspires you to create some special  pages or albums with your summer photos and memories!

Summertime!

Summertime is winding down for us and I'm savoring every last bit of it by scrapping some of our fun summer moments! I mentioned in my blog post about my summer mini that I wasn't going to give a whole lot of detail or descriptions because some of those photos would be scrapped on a traditional layout and this is one of them.

I have family scrapbooks (including Project Life) along with scrapbooks for each of the kids. This one will go in my little one's scrapbook since it's all about her :)

I'm using the South Shore kit for this layout (the kit is sold out but there are still papers left!)

It worked out well that the photos of the splash pad had an orange background since they matched so well with the papers in this kit. Don't you love when that happens??!

I created a sort of starburst with some of the papers & stitched them to my cardstock. I printed out my photos at roughly 3x3 with a white edge & added that fun pink glittered photo frame around one of them. 

Then a bit of layering with all the fabulous embellishments that always come in Noel's kit!

By the way, you might notice that my page doesn't have an "offical" title. I do that sometimes and I'm totally ok with it :)

{Adventure} with the South Shore kit

Hi there friends! I'm still playing with the South Shore kit as it's been a PERFECT kit for me to scrap our summer. One of my favorite papers in the kit was the canoe paper by Studio Calico. It could NOT have been more perfect for the picture of my Caroline suited up to go canoeing while she was at camp. So to capture that memory I created this layout.

To create this one, I layered papers and clustered embellishments using the canoe paper as my color scheme and inspiration. I usually don't scrap with a lot of green, so even though this looks like a normal layout it was a bit of a stretch for me. But stretching is good. (wink, wink)  I chose my embellishments according to the color scheme too, not really worrying if they matched perfectly or not. I thought I'd let Caroline journal in her own words in the space where the Elle's Studio tag says "Snapshot notes". In all, I'm glad I was able to get this one created. Thanks for letting me share!

The Pier

Hello friends!! I have a fun beachy layout to share with you today using the AMAZING South Shore kit! This kit is so fun and full of bright colors, perfect for all of those summer photos...or in my case, fall photos!!

We went to Florida last fall, and one of our favorite places that we visited was this gorgeous pier at Palm Beach. I loved this Elle's Studio paper for the background, and how it sort of worked as a neutral and make it easy for me to add in all of those fun brights!

I kept everything centered on this layout, and loved that fun ombre paper from Simple Stories for the base of my photo. The wood veneer arrows, made for a great simple embellishment by my title.

I layered in a tag with a few lines of journaling, and pairing it with some fun flair and a chipboard piece, I was able to create another cluster of interest, and keep my journaling hidden so it didn't compete with all the text on the background paper!

Summer Memories Pocket Album

Good morning, my friends! I sent my three older kiddos off to their first day of school a little bit ago, and thought it would be the perfect time to share with you our summer memories album that is in the making! 

My kids asked me the other day "Why haven't you made our summer memories album like you ALWAYS do?" Hahah! I'm glad I've set a precedent for them to expect, and that they enjoy it! 

I have been using the smartphone app, Collect , to save a photo every day and put a little journaling to go with it. It has been a LIFESAVER on trying to remember details! I absolutely love this little app. To pair with it, Persnickety Prints has a way to sync the app with their website and print off these adorable little photo cards that are custom made to fit perfectly into all the popular pocket pages. I can't tell you how much I love this, and how easy it is to have everything prepped this way! 

I have been using the South Shore Daily Diary kit for this little album. It's the exact vibe I want for a happy, fun, summer memories album! 

One of the things that always has me hesitant about pocket scrapbooking is that I love layers and texture... but you just have to get creative with it! I even layered a little behind the pocket and had something sticking out above the other pockets! 

Don't forget to get those summer photos scrapped before we move into fall and the warm summer months & details start fading from memory!

summer is coming to an end

Hello again!

I hope you had fun and were able to participate with our Cruise Crop!

I know that I had a great time and those who created projects for the crop did a fantastic job.

Thanks to all who joined us.

Now we are back to the daily grind and in my neck of the woods that means getting ready for school to start in a couple of weeks, making sure we have everything in order for that first day of school.

I am reluctant to send my kids back because we've been having a lot of fun and even with how crazy things can get around my house with everyone home I really do like having them here with me.

I am pushing out the back-to-school thoughts and am trying to relish summer for just a bit longer.

Today I have a new layout to share using the cute South Shore kit (there are still some papers available!) which is so perfect for scrapping your summer memories.

One of my favorite papers in the kit was this cool rainbow one from Simple Stories. It goes perfectly with those cute little stickers from Heidi Swapp that I used as accents on my page. I also did just a bit of doodling to give a handmade touch to the layout.

I cut this "love" title word on my Silhouette Cameo and then painted it with acrylic paint. I used the cool green glitter Thickers to finish off the title. 

The heart with the jewel is from the brad pack in the kit. It was actually part of a tag but I just wanted to use the heart part so I trimmed the rest off. Just a reminder to not limit yourself with what you can do with the kits. They are always PACKED with so many fun papers and embellishments that you can use in so many creative ways.
