Lots of Things to Share Today!

Over the weekend I posted some photocorner tips on the Tip & Technique blog. Go check it out! Here is the layout I made using my custom-made photocorner.
( Most of the items on this layout are remnants from the previous Noel Mignon kits: Tree House and Picnic Basket. I also added a journal spot, flower and transparency from my stash.)
There is also a new recipe challenge being posted on the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog today! Come play along!
Here's another one using the Love Story kit! (I added the Chipboard Shimmer letters by Scrapworks and the gemstones.)

And then finally I have a "sneaky peeky" of a layout I made using the upcoming Nightingale Kit (will be up for presale on Feb. 15th). YUM!!! Loving these colors!
Whew! :D
Have a great week!

Photocorners

You're almost finished with your page . . . but it still feels like it's missing something. A little color? A little detail? But you don't want to go overboard. Hmmmm. Why not try a photocorner? :D

There are lots of fun photocorners on the market, but you can also make your own. The fun part is that you can make it out of anything to perfectly compliment your layout. Try using paper, fabric, transparencies, journal spots, stickers, etc.

Here's one technique for making your own photocorner:

Step 1: Choose your paper or material that you are going to work with. In this case I am using a Jenni Bowlin Mini Bingo Card.

Step 2: Cut it into a square.

Step 3: Cut the square from corner to corner. You will now have two triangle shapes. You can use them like this or continue with the steps to make it a little more like the traditional photocorner shape.

Step 4: Fold your triangle in half.

Step 5: Snip off the bottom corner.

Step 6: Open it up. Now you have your finished custom photocorner!

You can also create your own photocorners, by cutting off the corners of new or used envelopes. Measure in from the corner equally on each of the sides and cut! You can make them as small or as large as you would like.

Try using decorative scissors to cut your photocorner. Or decorate your custom photocorners with stamps, paint, doodling, brads, buttons, flowers, etc. The options are endless! Have fun with it!

You are my Love

This is my version of the current Pencil Lines Sketch, #120. Papers are of course from MME. Honestly, I think I have enough in my stash to scrap an entire year without shopping {blush}. My frame is a Jenni Bowlin mini paper that I cut the center out of and then stitched. I used some SR letters up top and my rub ons are from Hambly. The rest is just kind of stuff I had laying around that went with it. :)

Michelle L. is sick today...so everyone wish her well, and a speedy recovery! TFL!! Oh and I thought I would add some tunes up just for some fun. Thanks to Stephanie from Sunshine and Ravioli for a lot of the song inspiration! :)

And yes...My photo does look blurry because I dropped my camera and I think I broke my lens. that would be the 3rd lens I broke. But I immediately ordered a new one...UGH. The woes of life. :)

Little notes

I have had some major scrapper's block this last week, I don't know what's up with that! I have had the hardest time getting my creativity flowing again. Any tips out there for getting back into the flow?

I tried to make some cards last night and they were blah, so I got up again this morning and made these little notebooks for my daughter Em. She always is sneaking my notebooks out of my purse to color in, so I thought I'd make her some just her size.

They are simply covered tiny composition notebooks I found at our Dollar Tree. They are perfect for writing grocery lists in too- they fit right into your pocket!
These were all made from the Love Story kit (sold out!).

Blue Skies!

Living in Chicago and dealing with these frigid temps has really made me long for summer! Our family went to sunny Florida this past October and I took this cute picture of my silly boy! He thought he was being so funny placing the lei on his head! Lucky for me he turned to look at me with that adorable smile! I used the Blue Skies kit for this LO. I wanted to keep it simple with the emphasis being on my picture. I did some embossing for a subtle effect on the frame. I also made clear paper "tiles." for some pop of color and texture. How did I make these? Glad you asked! Head on over to the Tips & Techniques section and I will give you step by step instructions! : )

Did I hear that darn groundhog saw his shadow? 6 more weeks of winter? Are you kidding me? UGH!

Let It All Hang Out

I have been trying to teach my kids to have more responsibility and on this particular day I asked my daughter to try hanging up her clothes and putting them on the lower rod in her closet instead of putting them all in her drawers. When I came to check on her I found that she had proudly hung up her tights and underpants along with everything else! LOL! Too funny!

I used the Love Story Kit for this layout. I was out of the letter "a" for my title, so I cut down the letter "d" to make do! :) Everything is from the kit except for the Basic Grey Orange chip letters.

Happy Scrapping!
