The 31st Kit- it's not just for Halloween!

My friend Whitney took these beautiful shots of me and my new girly while we were in the hospital- on my 30th birthday! I couldn't wait to scrap them and my very special birthday gift. :)

I used the new (and sold out) "The 31st Kit"- and even though it's mostly Halloween themed product, I was able to incorporate it very nicely into this girly-girl birthday layout.

(I did add a piece of October Afternoon paper from the Five Foot Two kit, along with these fabulous labels .. and for what it's worth, the labels are on sale for $2.16!)

I loved that the Making Memories word stickers had more than just "spooky" words- perfect for my layout!
I've been on a kick lately of punching different sized, randomly placed holes into my scalloped borders. I think it adds a fun touch, especially when you layer something with color peeking through underneath.

School!

Yep! It's time for another challenge! Check out the Noel Mignon Challenge blog today to find out what it is . . . but, I bet you can guess by looking at my page! ;)

I created this page using the new Core Curriculum kit (sorry, sold out) and a few additional buttons from my stash. We have a tradition to take our first day photos on our front porch. I make a page of each kid for their school album of just them, and then I like to make a page with all of the kids together for our family album. My younger daughter Maryn was quite the poser this day! LOL! Check her out! Strutting her 1st-grade-stuff! LOL! Fun times! Fun times!!!

I created this next page using a sketch from the Triple the Sketch blog. This items on this page are a combination of the Five Foot Twoand Eyes of Blue kits (a few still available).

I coated the chipboard shapes with the white crackle paint and highlighted the texture with Hi-Ho Silver Blingz by Shimmerz (from my stash). I tell ya! That crackle paint is addicting! What a fun way to add texture to a page!

Well, I hope you had a beautiful end to your summer and are getting ready to enjoy the changing seasons. I know I am! See you next time!

Princess in Training

We have a new challenge up at the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog today; scraplifting Tara Van Moorsel! Wow! She is amazing! I love everything Tara creates, so this was a treat to lift her page. :) Here is my take on it using the Five Foot Two kit (sold out).

I love the texture that Tara puts into her pages. I tried to pull that into my layout by using the handcut leaf border, Sassafras Layered Blossoms , and the Blue Prima Cherry Blossom Branch . I loved that she used a variety of butterflies (stamped, punched, etc.) and copied that idea on my page as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Tara!

Have a great week!

Fish

My niece, Hannah, loves to come to my house and swim in our pool! She is a bit tentative about the water, but once she gets going with her big cousin, aka, Kyle, there is no stopping her! I adore the action shots of her legs and feet up in the air! : ) I used bits and pieces of Noel's Five Foot Two and Eyes of Blue kit!
Just a reminder that my on-line card's class over at Noel's MB, will start this coming Monday! It is going to be such a fun class that will include some fun techniques and some of the basics of stamping! If you want to join us, you can purchase the class in the right side bar! : )

Don't forget to join us too for our Sizzlin' Summer Crop over on the message board! Lots of chatter, games, challenges, and some prizes!

Have a FANTASTIC Friday and rest of the weekend!

My Sandcastle Buddy

Over the 4th of July weekend, my niece, Hannah wanted to build sand castles. So I happily obliged! We would pack the sand tightly in its container, flip it , and add sticks and such to create faces. (Who knew sand castles had faces? LOL!) I used Noel Mignon's Five Foot Two kit. (sold out!) I kept the LO fairly uncluttered to keep the focus on Hannah's cute pic!

Thanks so much for stopping by! : )

Making Trading Cards

My son has been into making trading cards. They are for some game, but I don't know what game it is.......cuz I am not a 12 year old boy apparently! It is kind of cute, because he will head up to my scrap room, sit at "his" table and cut "cards." He used markers to draw his images and places values on each card. I especially love when he tells me it is a "rare" card! I documented this creative side to him using Noel's Five Foot Two kit (sold out!) and some 7 Gypsies.
I snuck a few of his cards (Don't worry I didn't take his "rare" cards! LOL!) and made a little booklet for them. I tucked an envelope behind the photo to put the booklet in.
See? And the kid has no idea I have his cards in my scrapbook........: )

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!!!

Last Day

Here's a 2-pager using the 5 Foot 2 kit. :) (the cardstock and pearls are from my stash). I pieced together strips of the patterned paper, Hambly and cardstock, hiding the "seams" behind other elements so you wouldn't know I didn't use continuous sections of them. It worked out great! (click on pictures for a larger view)

Be sure to check out the New Noel Mignon Challenge going up on Monday!

Soar

This week's challenge over at Noel's challenge blog, is to create a LO based on a summertime tradition. In my house summer=swings. Both my kids love to swing, sometimes for hours...... I grabbed my camera and took some pics of Kyle with his big ole' bare feet stickin' out! I used Noel's Five Foot Two kit as well as some 7 Gypsies ephemera, which can be found HERE in Noel's store.

Have a great weekend!!

After School Buffet and She's Our Girl

The first page I have for you, is one using the brand new Five Foot Two kit (only 5 left!). I love the feel and colors of this kit! Perfect for all kinds of summer activities! You have red and blue for patriotic pages and juicy pinks and greens for those picnic photos! Very fun!

This page is about my kids coming home after school and raiding the kitchen. They are so hungry that they start to pull out as much food as they can and pretty soon the kitchen looks like it has a buffet set up in it! LOL!

Everything but the buttons are from the Five Foot Two kit. :)

*******************************************

Do you like to edit your photos before you print them? I am NOT a great photographer, but I feel like I can fake it a bit with the help of a photo-editing program.

I really couldn't live without my PhotoShop and LightRoom programs. They help me make my photos brighter, sharper, and more fun to scrap! :D Let me show you what I mean.

The photo in the layout below was actually a casual snapshot that I took of my daughter while we were playing outside. With the help of LightRoom I tilted it, cropped it, and added a fun preset action to give the photo more of a staged feeling. I included the before and after of this photo, so you can see the difference.

Isn't that AMAZING!!!! Now I'm no photoshop expert, so don't feel like you have to be. BELIEVE ME, if I could figure out how to do it, so can you! ;)

Everything on this page is from the delicious Rise and Shine kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Cards & A Little Surprise

Of course, I have waited until the last minute to make cards for our dads for Father's Day, so I pulled out the new Five Foot Two and Eyes of Blue kits to make a couple this morning... I knew that Noel's kits would make it easy to put some cards together fast!

I also needed to make a little something to throw into a gift basket for my secret sis, so I used the cute packaging from the Sassafrass brads in the Eyes of Blue kit to make a container for some Smarties candies. I made sure when I opened the package, that I peeled up the plastic "bubble" carefully, so when it was time to reassemble, I just added some adhesive and stuck it back on. Easy peasy and super quick!

Five Foot Two Layouts

Here are my first two layouts using the Five Foot Two kit!!! Don't you just love the happiness of this kit?!!! :D :D :D

Hawaii
Everything here is from the kit except for the Jenni Bowlin Kindergarten Rubons and the blue Prima flower.

Happy, Happy Easter
I just LOVE the Sassafras Lass brads in this kit . . . infact, I used the entire package on this page! :D LOL! The Making Memories Mini stickers are included in the kit. The blue and yellow Thickers are from previous Noel Mignon kits; and the sparkly, white chipboard letters are by Scrapworks and are available in the store.
