I'm a little late but here is my LO for the Hometown Challenge.

I loved this months DEVOTED kit and it is perfect for these photos!!

When I was 6

It's official...my style is evolving! And I would like to thank the team for the fantastic tip and techinques because I think that is pushing me (stiching and pen use on this one)!

So I found this old sheet of wallet size photos of me from 1st grade and I though I would scan them and use a good portion of them, rather than blowing one up into a 4x6. I think i love how it looks! I used a piece of MME paper from my stash. Also used a bunch of stuff from the passionate kit (hambly, artchix border, stickers, pen, thickers), found an old felt iron on patch in my sewing box which is in the top left corner. Jenni Bowlin bingo card, Fancy pants felt shapes, KI memories stickers (from the Devoted kit), BG raw #6 which I painted black, random chip star which I painted red, and a page out of the making memories journaling book.

Passionate Kit

I LOVE LOVE this kit!!! The colours are so perfect and the pattern papers are so perfect to mix and match! This is two layouts I have done with the kit.

Lisa's Hometown

I grew up and lived in San Jose my whole life, until i moved to Fresno with my boyfriend. it was HARD! even still, i'm very sad to be so far away from my family and the city i know the most about. Although Fresno is also a big city, it will never compare to my home.

A "Passionate" Layout

Jana's Hometown

I have lived in the same town my entire life. The first idea I had for this challenge was to do a page with all of the homes I have lived in (which I will still do). But recently I read a book on the history of my city and discovered several things. My ancestor, Joseph Holbrook, was a co-founder of Bountiful, Utah. He helped build this church, donating supplies meant for his own home to rebuild the roof of the church when a big windstorm blew it off. He was the first judge for this town and owned a brick manufacturing company that I'm sure supplied lots of the brick for some of the historic homes.

The other thing that is special about this building is that my dad grew up attending church here. He lived in a home just a few blocks away. When Kevin and I were first married, we purchased a home around the corner from my dad's childhood home. This was the first church we attended as a married couple. We even blessed our first baby there. Last year, we decided to have our family picture taken in front of this church because of the significance it has to our family. I'm proud to have such a strong heritage here. I love this place and am proud to be raising our family here. :)

Ashley's Hometown

I had a different take on the upcoming "Hometown" challenge . . . to put it bluntly, I have a love/hate relationship with the town I live in! The journaling is all about how I both loathe the smalltown cliques that won't go away and how I love it here because it's where my family and friends are. I also love it because I know where everything is, and those things are usually minutes away. Like it or not, it's home to me!
