Pinterest Inspired!

One of my favorite go-to places for design is Pinterest.  I found these two images recently & loved the idea of incorporating this diamond pattern into a layout.

Using my Wishing Well kit, I got to work cutting various pattern papers to create my diamond pattern.  I cut my photo in a diamond shape as well.  To make it easier, I created a 3.5" x 3.5" diamond shape in my Cameo.  Then I just cut a variety of patterned papers.  I knew I wanted my photo and title block to be a full diamond, so I drew a vertical line where these would be.  I adhered them down & simply adding in diamonds around them until I liked the design I created.  Then I used my cutter to trim off any overhang of diamonds at the edges.

In my title block I used some of those gorgeous Maggie Holmes rub-ons from the kit, as well as those fun, glittery Thickers!!  Here you can see a close-up of my stitching.  I stitched diagonally through the edges of each block.

I kept my journaling simple.  A simple layering of some fun tags, a sticker, and a brad from the kit made the perfect spot for these few words.

I Couldn't Love Him More

Hi everyone! I'm here today with one last layout using the Book of Love kit, so far I've made 4 layouts, 2 cards, and a mini album just with one kit! I especially love the small alphas Noel included in this kit, they are perfect for long titles which I incorporated here.

Don't be afraid to use pink for a boy layout, it's the perfect accent color!  Have a great Wednesday everyone :)

Your Dreams

Hi all!! I have my first layout using the Wishing Well kit to share with you today. This kit is absolutely gorgeous with all of the gold tones and embellishments. I believe that there are still a few available, so pick yours up here!!

When I was going through my prints to decide what I wanted to scrap, I stumbled across an older photo of my daughter...she was about 3 in this one. I have scrapped this before, but I just couldn't get it out of my mind as I kept looking for a photo to use. So, I decided to just scrap it again. There is no specific "story" behind this photo, so I just thought about what I wanted to say to her, what this photo made me feel or think about.

This picture just made me think of her sweetness, how full of love she is, and the wonderful dreams and goals that she already has for herself. So when I found this saying on Pinterest, I knew it would be the perfect fit. I kept this layout pretty simple. I wanted the scattering of embellishments along the side to be the main element. That paired with all the gold, to me, just added even more to the meaning and "theme" of the layout.

It was fun to go back and reuse an older photo, I definitely think I will have to do this again! Are any of you ever inspired to "rescrap"?

Beautiful Darling Daughters- Wishing Well Kit!

Yesterday, I doodled a few little sketches in church while I listened and used one as the inspiration for my layout today. I've recently become quite taken with floral laurels, and I wanted to use one on my layout as a feature. Some of my inspiration has come from the wonderful artist Katie Daisy, with designs like this one:

I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in the Silhouette store, but I did find one called "cute flower badge" that I just adjusted the sizing for what I wanted.

I used the beautiful "Wishing Well kit" (there are still a couple available- grab one while you can!) to create the rest of the accents on this page. I especially loved the little photo frames and thought they added a lovely lightness to the edges of my photo mat for journaling.

How fun is that little rolling stamp?! Adore! The "beautiful" cut out with my Silhouette machine is from a fellow scrapbooker and instagrammer, Jessy. You can download it for free, along with a few other brush words she created, on her blog here.

This was such a fun layout to make. What design features are catching your eyes lately that will make their way to your pages?

Scraplift of Lindsey Dixon

Hi, everyone! Jana Eubank here. This has been such a fun week on the Noel Mignon blog! I have loved seeing all of our members' creativity, along with the scraplifts by our design team! The page I chose to work with is this lovely page by Lindsey Dixon using the January 2014 Fresh Start kit.

I love the different strips of patterned papers in the background I loved the scattered hearts over the top and the way that Lindsey cut and lifted the pennants of the pink paper to add more dimension. I selected a horizontal photo from Valentine's Day last year, grabbed my February 2014 Book of Love kit, and got to work! Here is my take on Lindsey's darling page.

I duplicated the four columns of patterned paper from Lindsey's page, but added a 5th strip going horizontally to anchor my photo.

I tried to imitate the hearts and dimension on Lindsey's page by cutting out the icons and scribbly polka dots in the patterns and popping them up with foam squares.

I also created a grouping of pennants in the upper left corner. Two of the flags are from the sticker sheet in the kit. I used a pennant punch to cut the gray tag from one of the 3x4 cards included in my kit. I stitched across the top of all three of the banners and then added a paper doll garland cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine.

To the right of my photo, I added a title, journal block, and a few die cuts and stickers.

I had so much fun putting this design together. Thank you for inspiring me, Lindsey!

Happy Scrapping!

Jackie George - You've Been Lifted!!

Welcome back to our week of scraplifts!! I had the pleasure of getting to play around with the fabulous style of Jackie George.   I have noticed some recent layouts of Jackie's that included AWESOME quilt-like patterns in the background.  If you know me, you know I love the quilted look on a page - as well as the opportunity to break out some sewing!!!  Here is Jackie's inspiring page . . .

And here is my take on that gorgeous quilted background using the new Wishing Well kit. . .

I cut various lengths of patterned papers, just as Jackie did on her layout.   I then adhered them to the bottom half of my page in rows.  I also machine-stitched across each row.

Rather than create my typical oversized title, I chose to keep it simple with this cute photo frame and one of the GORGEOUS gold rub-ons from the kit.  Right below I added my journaling and then a few fun embellishments on the side.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Feel free to check out more of Jackie's work in our Facebook Group :)

Scraplift Week- Molly Rose You've been Lifted!

Hi everyone, Cassie here today! Do you love Scraplift Week as much as I do?  It's SO much fun but it's so hard to choose what to lift because there are so many awesome projects on the Facebook page :)  I decided to lift Molly Rose's beautiful layout seen below

I really liked the strips of paper behind the photo and the large block of journaling so I translated both of those elements into my layout using the Book of Love kit.

I decided to expand the journaling to all of the negative space in the layout, making it become the background.  It was actually hard to come up with journaling to fill all of the space, I'm so used to keeping it brief in my layouts :) Thank you for the wonderful inspiration Molly!!
