Hello friends!! I have a fun little layered card to share with you today! I always have so many fun bits and pieces left over from my kits, so I challenged myself to put some of those goodies to use on this fun card.

Layering the rub on under the photo overlay added fun dimension, then I decided to build up from the camera center. This cute flair badge added in some needed color, pins and clips added in even more texture and dimension. Cutting apart one of the chevron rub ons from the Maggie Holmes collection, I was able to make some small photo corners, and add in more of the gorgeous gold accent. Layered a few of the banner stickers, and I was left with a fun, colorful, dimensional, card for any occasion!

Are you ready for summer vacation?

It's the end of the school year for most of our kids and if your children are like mine they are counting down the days until they are FREE!

This week we've had awards assembly after awards assembly and today was both kindergarten graduation (for my 3rd) and the last day of preschool for my 4th so this post is a bit late but I hope it's worth it!

My kids love school and do well there but they are more than ready for summer vacation, time to relax, time to play, time to sleep in and do lots of fun things.

For my layout this week I decided to do something I don't usually do- create a photo-less page.

Have you ever tried that?

Our theme this week is "end of the school year" and I thought it would be fun to create a layout about what our plans are for summertime so I gathered my kids together and we came up with our "bucket list" of things to do while they are out of school. Of course we might not get to all of these things but it sure is fun to think about!

I created this page using the Carousel kit from this month:

I used that beautiful Pink Paislee paper for my background, topped it off with some white cardstock with edges painted with spray mist. I like that it helps set apart the patterned paper from the cardstock.  

I added a small banner piece to the top of the page along with a rose that I cut from the Dear Lizzy paper. I also added one of these roses to the bottom of the page. I added glue in spots and then some of the cool pink glitter from the kit. This adds lots of sparkle to my page to go along with the glitter alphas and frame that I also used on the layout.

After adding some spray mist splatters (you can find some in the Noel Mignon store here) I used the nozzle to draw some lines for my journaling. Here is where I put that pack of My Mind's Eye alpha and phrase stickers to work on my page in a major way. This is a fun way to spice up your journaling and give it some pop!

I added some enamel hearts from Chickaniddy here and there and some bits of Glitz washi tape.

Happy Wonderful

Good afternoon!! Today I have a fun fall themed layout to share with you using the "Carousel" kit, with a few bits and pieces from some past kits thrown in.
I love the soft colors that are included in the "Carousel" kit, but I really wanted to challenge myself to use them on not only a boy page, but a fall themed page. So I started out by pulling all the blue/greens, and brow papers and accents out. I knew I wanted to add in some darker shades also, so I went through some past kits and pulled out anything that I thought would coordinate, yet still bring in those darker tones.

That squirrel paper from Glitz, was one of my favorites out of this kit, and I knew this would be the perfect layout to use it on, I wanted to add more interest to it though, so I cut some random strips, and by adhering them along the sides, I was able to use that while still adding in more colors and texture.
I really wanted to showcase a long title along the more solid blue paper, I pulled out a fun stitching template form my stash, and used it as the starting point. Then by layering in some stickers, paper, and wood veneer, I put together a fun title that works to fill that large blank space.

Finally I added in my layered mat, if you look closely, you will notice I even snuck in a bit of pink for even more interest and color. Since I had so much white space in these photos, I added in a few clusters that layered in for fun texture and dimension.

I tend to go for more primary and brighter colors on my boy layouts, so this was a fun change, and I love getting to add in some of those fun bits and pieces that I have been holding on to!

Life is Beautiful!

Hi friends! I've got another layout that I made with this month's Carousel kit. (Sorry it's sold out).

I promise I didn't plan my kids Easter outfits to coordinate with the Carousel kit, but I was so happy when I saw the first sneaks on Facebook. And I *may* have squealed a little bit when I pulled out the gray and pink papers from Chickaniddy Crafts when my kit arrived. I knew immediate which picture I was going to use! I'm really loving the soft subtle colors of this kit. This layout came together pretty quickly.

For this layout I deconstructed several of the journaling cards and kraft tags by hand-cutting the elements I knew would work well on this page. I also hand-cut the large pink/peach flowers, and tucked my picture inside a corner of the Heidi Swapp glitter frame, using it kind of as am enlarged photo corner.

Hand cut titles and the Carousel kit

Hello again!

For today I have another layout to share with you that I created using the Carousel kit from this month. 

I really like the pastel hues and the fun script words on some of the patterned papers. I decided to use the "Happy" from the paper with "choose happy" for part of the title on my page. 

I very carefully cut out the words using some pointed scissors and a craft blade and saved "choose" for a card that I will share with you soon. I finished off the title with some glitter Thickers and a sentiment "together" from the kit. 

Here is a look at the whole page: 

The little metal clips in the kit are so cute! I cut out these two hearts from the journal card sheet and positioned them to look like clouds, then added the Maya Road clip over the top and secured with just a few stitches. I added some of those fun heart epoxy stickers, too. 

As I think I said before, I really like the sheets of My Mind's Eye stickers in the kit this month! They are the perfect filler for journaling, adding little bits of info and accents for  your projects. I used some of the alphas and sayings on my layout. 

I really like the clothespins with the paper bows but didn't want that much bulk on this page so I carefully removed the bow from the clip and added it to the bottom of my journaling block. The gold star washi tape is from Queen & Company and is an extra you can find in the Noel Mignon store along with lots of other cute new tapes.

Enjoy The Journey

Hello crafty friends!! Today I have a sweet and easy little home decor project to share with you using the "Carousel" kit. 

I had this frame laying around that I had found on clearance last summer. I knew that the colors in the "Carousel" kit would be perfect to use with this frame! I started by taking out the glass, that way I could add some dimension to the main piece. I cut patterned paper to fit the opening, and layered one of the kraft Heidi Swapp tags and a doily in the center.
I loved this cloud wood veneer, but knew that I would never use it for a layout, so it was one of the first things I pulled out to use. It had a preprinted sentiment of "today" on it, but that didn't quite make sense for a decor piece, so I pulled out the My Mind's Eye stickers, and found this one, which was perfect. I layered it over a piece of the included washi to give a little more color. Using the last little leftover bit from the vellum borders, some twine, and the cute banner stickers, I made a "shelf" for my cloud to rest on.

Using foam adhesive, doubled on the wings, I adhered the butterfly for a little more dimension and color. Sequins and enamel hearts finished it off!

This was such a fun little project to make, and I used up lots of those little bits that were included in the kit!!

Embracing the Camera

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to share my layout with you today as a part of our Mother's Day theme. The inspiration behind my layout is from a blog post by a photographer I really love, Ashley Ann. Her blog, Under the Sycamore, is a lot about motherhood, every day moments, and she takes some really great candid photos. One blog post that was particularly impactful  for me, and is the inspiration for my layout, was one where she encouraged her readers to embrace the camera. A lot of us moms love to take pictures, and as a result we're not IN those pictures. So Ashley Ann started a hashstag on Instragram encouraging moms to jump in the pictures WITH their kids--no matter what their hair looks like, even if they don't have on make-up or what the house looks like--but to GET IN THE PICTURE! It's those memories of everyday activities, that the kids will want to remember when they look back through our albums one day.

So I've taken that challenge and have tried to be more intentional about getting in pictures with my kids. THEY love selfies, so that's what we do.  I've also tried to mix up the scenarios a little bit by taking a selfie of all of us in carpool or laying in the grass (that's what these two pictures are of). And if I admit it, I really do like that I'm forcing myself to capture these shots too. I like seeing myself with my kids in our everyday environments, or just being silly with them.  So here's my layout of 2 of our #embracethecamera selfies.

"Being Intentional"

Details about the layout: I used a neutral palette with the pops of blue from the Carousel kit (sorry, sold out) to create a fun whimsical LO. Keeping with an Instagram theme, I layered my layout on a white cardstock border, added a few mists to the kraft paper and lots of hand-drawn squigglies around the pictures and edges.

This Mother's Day weekend, I want to encourage you to get out there and Embrace the Camera with your family--your kids, your mother, and other generations if you have them. I really believe it's a big deal to leave a legacy for our kids, and what better way to evidence it than by taking a picture with them.  So Go. Embrace the Camera. Capture your memories. Love on your family!

Mother's Day Plaque

Hello friends!! Mother's Day is coming up this weekend, and I like to try and always make a personalized gift for the wonderful mamaw's and grandma's that my kiddos have. I made sure and got some updated group photos of them together over Easter weekend, and knew that I was going to make a photo plaque that  can be  display either at home or at work.

I started out with two chipboard mini album pages, I adhere them together using some strong liquid adhesive, and I taped the seam along the back. Using the Heidi Swapp heart stencil and blush ColorShine that we received in our "Book of Love" kits back in February, and some modeling paste. I made a a soft, dimensional background, and base for my layers.

I chose to work mainly with the Chickaniddy Crafts papers that were included in the kit. I loved the colors that were in these papers, and thought that they worked perfect for the look I was hoping to achieve.

I wanted to keep this fairly simple, I cut my papers into pennants and layered them through the middle of my "plaque", then by cutting one of the kraft tags included in the kit, I was able to make another pennant shape that I layered under my photo layers, to make it have more presence on the  piece. 

I loved this paper clip, and knew I wanted to put it in this spot, but when I tried to actually "clip" it, I was losing more of the design that I wanted, so by using a strong adhesive, I layered right on top of my photo. I added one of those cute clear butterflies underneath to help it stand out even more, and add in more layers.

I wanted to have the embellishing a little heavier on the opposite side. Layering in stickers and labels, made for a great base. I removed the bow for one of the clothespins, and adhered it using foam adhesive.

Hoping that my mom loves this as much as I think she will. I know she will at least get a kick out of the photo. It was our best out of about 10...trying to get all those kiddos to cooperate wasn't working so well for us! ;)

Mother's Day Shadow Box

Hi everyone! I've got a fun Mother's Day gift I made for my mom using the gorgeous Carousel kit.  The colors are so soft, they went perfectly with an 8x8 beach layout that I made.  My mother has a beach house and my son LOVES to play there so I thought this layout would be a perfect gift for her.

To finish up the shadow box I added some sand and seashells that my son collected from that very same beach :) I hope she loves the gift, and Happy Mother's Day to all of you mom's out there!

Life is beautiful with pink sparkly glitter

Hello again! 

I hope you are all having a great week so far and that you got some time to do something creative over the weekend for National Scrapbook Day. 

Today's project is one that I created with our May kit, Carousel. 

One of the embellishments I was most excited about in this kit was the pink glitter from American Crafts. I knew it would add a little bit of extra spark to the paper that already said "Life is beautiful." 

All I did was squirt some craft glue in the outline of the words "life is beautiful" and then sprinkled the glitter right on top, shaking off the extra when I was done. After that I added a few hearts that I drew with the glue and then added a bit of a border at the bottom of the paper as well. 

I cut one of the vellum banner pieces and layered them for an accent at the top left of my page. 

The My Mind's Eye stickers are so fun! I added a bunch of them in a variety of colors on my page as well. They are great for journaling, titles, etc.

Love you! with May flowers

Hi everyone! I'm get to finish up May flowers week with a layout I created using some non-traditional flowers. I layered several embellishments from the Carousel kit to create my "flowers".  Here's a look:

 At first glimpse you may not SEE the flowers, but up close can see them in more detail.

Here I created 2 layered non-traditional "flowers" to go along with the newsprint vellum flower from the kit.  To get the first layered flowered look I used a MME green flower sticker and 2 MME chipboard buttons. For the second layered "flower", if you can call it that, I hand-cut the pink hearts from the Glitz Carpe Diem paper and layered it underneath the wood veneer sentiment.  

The third layered flower is on the other side of the photo, and again I stacked a coral MME sticker with two MME buttons.

May flowers

It's May!

Can you believe it?

This year is flying by way too quickly for me.

May is here and soon school will be over and Summer vacation will be in full-swing and then before we know it school will be back in session again. It seems like time keeps going by more and more quickly for me.

Our theme of the week is May flowers and the May kit, "Carousel," is perfect for this.

I decided to create a card for this week using some of the fun florals in the kit.

This peachy floral was one of my favorite papers in the kit and I thought it would look so pretty on a card. I actually ended up using both sides of the paper as well as part of the tear strip at the bottom of the page.

After adhering the patterned paper I added some of the cute Glitz washi tape and then cut one of the doilies in half. I adhered the doily, overlapping the two pieces and then trimmed off the extra. I added a Heidi Swapp banner piece on top of that, then some of those cute lace flowers and some twine. After that I chose a few of the sentiment stickers from the kit and it was done. It was pretty quick and easy.

Running Through the Wildflowers

Hi friends, Cassie here! I'm continuing our "May Flowers" week after our "April Showers" themed week last week.  This time I've got a layout up using the gorgeous Carousel kit which I was so excited to play with!

I love the dreamy colors in this kit, and they worked beautifully for these photos of my son running through a field of wildflowers.  Don't be afraid to use pink on layouts with your little boys- just pair it with some fun bright colors and you're in good shape :)

There are so many great embellishments in this kit- I had a hard time not using them all at once! Below you can see I used the diamond stickers, enamel hearts, vellum flowers, sequins and washi tape on just this one section of the layout.

Cherish Every Moment

Hello friends!! Today I have a layout to share with you using the new "Carousel" kit! This kit is sold out, but we still have a few sub spots open for the July-December term...head over and sign up before we close them out, so you don't miss out on any more of these fabulous kits!!!

For my layout today, I knew I wanted to use this fabulous Heidi Swapp paper that is included in the kit, the large script "Life is Beautiful" title was perfect, and I chose to build on it and make a long title. 

It also gave me a perfect spot for my photo, rest of the title, and main embellishment cluster. I had lots of fun with this, altering some of the embellishments that came in the kit, to better fit the look I was going for with this layout.
I loved the layered vellum flowers from Pebbles, the one that best went with my layout, was a little heavy in the center though, so using the adorable feather stamp from the Lawn Fawn set in our kit, I altered it to fit my need. Using a light pink ink, I stamped it multiple times on a light pattern paper, then fussy cut them, and arranged then in the center of just one of the light pink vellum flower ( I deconstructed the one in the kit). Adding in a sequin, chipboard button, and some twine. I was able to create a cute, dimension flower that fit the spot I had in mind perfectly.

I also cut apart the wood veneer flower cluster ( that I loved) to be able to layer it in a few different places on my layout.
Finally, I need something up in that corner, and the adorable little banner pieces were perfect. They are a colored vellum, so they added just enough, without overpowering the area. I chose to cut mine in half, so I could layer them over one another, however, once I did that it gave me a pink and a yellow banner. The pink was perfect, but I found the yellow stood out a little too much against the rest of my color scheme. So, using the CUTE bow vellum that was in our kit, I traced and cut out and identical banner, and used that in place of the yellow. This allowed me to still layer my banners, but to make it all seem more cohesive.

You can still see a tiny bit of that yellow, since the original banner was an ombre, but in that small amount I was ok with using it.
