Flamingo Gift Set with the Big Splash Classic Kit

I have been a little stumped this month of what I could do with all the fun prints and colors in this kit.  We aren't big into tropical vacations and all the fun flamingo items had me scratching my head.  After browsing through the Silhouette store I ran across a few flamingo items that I thought were adorable.  I decided to pair them together and make a cute gift set.  

I started with the bag and cut it from a couple of sheets of pattern paper and the cardstock from the kit.  I used the flamingo washi tape along the top of the bag and used a bit of the yellow ribbon and leaf die cut to tie around his neck.  

Next up was the card.  My silhouette really did most of the work and I assembled it all together using some foam adhesive and chalk ink around his feathers.  I then finished the bottom of the card off with more flamingo washi tape, a sentiment, and puffy flower stickers.  

These will be great paired together to wrap up a special gift later in the summer.

Pooltime Fun with the Big Splash Classic Kit

The Big Splash kit is such a fun way to document those pool photos.  Whether that pool is big or small :)  These quick snapshots are of my son and his friend from last summer playing in the kiddie pool in the backyard. 

I started with a piece of white cardstock and used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink and sprayed it a few times on the background.  It was a little darker than I wanted so I took paper towel and blotted off the excess ink. 

I then cut a few strips of pattern paper to cover the top of my layout leaving the bottom 2/3 for my photos and embellishment clusters. 

I used the Jenni Bowlin chiboard buttons in a visual triangle around my photos.  I then used these as a foundation for smaller word stickers/puffy stickers.  

I finished off by printing out my journaling and placed it along with a diecut and another chipboard button on the top part of my layout tucking it all into the smaller strip of pattern paper.  

I set a time limit for myself on this layout and I was amazed at how having a time limit makes design decisions so much easier.  If you struggle on every little embellishment placement I would suggest trying to set a timer.  It's amazing what you can get done when you feel the crunch.

A few layouts using the Enjoy the Journey Classic Kit

Hello everyone!  The diversity of the kit this month is great.  It can easily be used for vacation/travel themed layouts as well as layouts of the everyday.  I pulled out items from the kit and used them to document a day that I was feeling extremely grateful.  I recently saw this statement on Instagram lately and knew I wanted to use it for my title. 

Really this layout is all about the title and journaling.  I pulled some of the stickers to embellish the title and then printed off a few pictures that supported my journaling.  I finished off using a few strips of pattern paper, washi tape, and stickers around the perimeter of my layout that helped "frame" in my title and journaling. 

Once I had finished with that layout I decided to use more of the kit.  This time using a twist on a travel themed title.  We moved into our house 6 months ago in the fall and could see the previous owners had put a lot of time and love into the landscaping.  What we didn't realize is the extent of their green thumbs.  This layout is about how I hope to have a green thumb myself and I am jumping in trying to embrace it all. 

The beautiful June kit just arrived this afternoon and I'm excited to start creating with it.

Travel More banner with the Enjoy the Journey Classic Kit

Hello everyone!  Nicole here on the blog today to share with you a banner I put together using the Enjoy the Journey Classic Kit.  My family isn't known to take many trips and I can count on one hand how many we have gone on since my husband and I were married.  As our boys have started to get older I regret the trips we haven't taken.

When this months kit came I decided to make decor to remind me of our new goal of taking the trips. 

I cut from the cream cardstock the center banner with my Silhouette.  Using yarn I cross stitched the heart in the center of the banner and embellished with the Jillibean Soup felt flowers and a piece of flair.  The words on the flair read "Travel More".  :)

The pennants on either side of the center are pattern papers trimmed to size.  I decided to keep these two simple and then embellish the two outer pennants.  

(Pay no attention to my perpetual calendar . . . I have been awful at changing that thing . . . )

The outside pennants I cut from a couple of the neutral pattern papers.  These I embellished with die-cuts, cork, and rubons from the kit.  

Once the pennants were all finished I thread them on baker's twine from a previous Noel Mignon kit and tied ribbons from the kit in between the pennants.  I love the results of this cute banner and it will be a fun reminder through the summer of our push to do the trips, have no regrets, and make the memories.

Staycation with the Enjoy the Journey Classic Kit

May 1st!!  The start of a new months brings another wonderful Noel Mignon kit.  This month features a travel theme to both the Classic and Daily Diary kits.  My family tends to not take many vacations and I chose to document our recent staycation we took with friends during Spring Break. 

I started with a cut file I found in the Silhouette store and cut it from pattern paper.  I then backed the bottom part with the map compass pattern.  I added color to the print with water color pencils giving the title a pop of color.  As I was looking through the stickers I found the geotag and thought it would make the perfect accent in the letter "A". 

All my photos were cell phone photos so I chose to keep them small and included them around my journaling.  I slipped a few tags and ephemera pieces under photos and used one of the die cut hearts and Crate Paper roller stamp to highlight a few of the pool photos.  

I decided to add more color and cut a strip of pattern paper for the bottom and topped this with the copper washi tape.   

This kit is perfect to document all kinds of trips, places you frequent, or even a Staycation like ours.

Quote Mobile with the Vintage Spring Daily Diary Kit

Sorry everyone, another late night blog post from me.  Tonight I am showing how I used my kit to create a fun little home decor piece with my daily diary kit.  I love the vintage inspired cards in the kit and they really lend themselves with the look and feel in my living room.  I bought this wire mobile over a year ago and it has hung empty in my living room.  After my kit arrived I knew immediately what I wanted to hang from the clips.  Here is what I came up with:

I began by going online and finding some quotes that I really like and then printed these off on photo paper.  I then grabbed the vintage inspired cards and embellishments and went to town.  

Most of the cards I included quotes on both sides of the cards.  The few that are blank use cards with prints on the back.    

It makes a fun addition hanging in my front room corner and it's really nice putting to use my wire mobile.

Bloom and Grow with the Vintage Spring Daily Diary Kit

Better late than never today.  It has been a busy week already and it's only Tuesday . . .

Anyway I am here to share a layout using the Vintage Spring Daily Diary kit.   It is our first spring in our house and it has been fun watching different plants start blooming and seeing what the previous owners planted.  I decided to pair pictures of my yard starting to bloom with journaling that reflects my thoughts on my own personal changes right now. 
 I did pull cardstock from last months classic kit and the woodgrain pattern paper from the February kit. 

I started with the white cardstock for my background.  Using some Heidi Swapp gold shimmer mist I put a few gold splatters.

The rest of the picture block is cards and pattern papers I layered from the the kit.  I then tucked in some die cuts and stickers among the layers.  

And there you have it a pretty simple and quick layout documenting a little of me right now. How are you about recording your own personal thoughts and feelings at the moment?  I hope among the holidays, birthdays, and family vacations you are including you.

Unicorns Exist with the You Go Girl Classic Kit

Happy Tuesday!  I have really enjoyed creating with this months kit and have made quite a few fun projects.  I decided though to make an actual scrapbook page this week.  A few of the products in the kit reminded me of a few cakes I have made lately at my new job and I thought it would be fun to document the trend of unicorns that seems to be making an appearance everywhere. 

I started with my title.  I used a combination of chipboard stickers and a Silhouette machine cut.  I then backed this with pattern paper and a tag. 

I then started layering my photos and pattern paper strips on the bottom.  Placing a few bits of washi tape down and tucked in the date. 

Once I had placed all my elements I began to embellish with rubons, chipboard stickers, and a rhinestone brad to dot the "i" in my title. 

I decided the left hand side needed something so I took a couple of pattern papers and placed them along the side and topped the corner with an old photo corner from my stash. 

I love how all the colors and supplies work in this months kit and it was fun to use a feminine color palette.  What are you making with this months kit?  Be sure to share with us over on the Noel Mignon Member Facebook group.

Photo Booth Props with the You Go Girl Classic Kit

Hey all!  I am back with another project this week.  I last minute had to make photo booth props for our upcoming girls night at church.  I again decided to reach for this months kit.  It has the perfect mix of girly color scheme and fun embellishments.

I put my Silhouette to work and cut out the base of all the props.  I then went through and looked through the different embellishments to decorate each one. 

The mustache and crown are cut from glitter paper from my stash.  The crown I embellished with washi tape and gemstone brads.  

The exclamation speech bubble:  topped with the chipboard words and hearts and outlined with the distressed marker.

Hat:  embellished with a prima flower and a puffy sticker.

Glasses:  pearl rhinestones

Speech bubble:  outlined the perimeter with washi tape and topped it with a chipboard sticker and rubon.

Mask:  outlined with the distress marker and embellished with chipboard stickers.

Bow tie:  Embellished the middle with chipboard stickers.  

The props I placed in a mason jar where I added ribbon from last months kit and the camera die cut to around the top.

These turned out to be a little more time consuming than I originally planned, but only because I was torn with what paper to use for each prop.  I love the way these all came together and I know they are going to make some really fun props for later this week.
