Lovebirds

OK I am going to brag on my parents for a minute.
Those 2 goofballs have been married for 39 years.
It will be a 40 whopping years this coming December!
And they still like each other!
That is quite impressive these days!
I snapped a sweet picture of them dancing at a family wedding this past December.
And I pulled out my gorgeous Summer Wind kit to scrap it!

Awwwww, how sweet!
:)

OK that's all I've got!
Have an awesome day!

Scrapping!

Happy Memorial Day to our Scrappy Friends! Today I have a couple of pages to share with you that I have been working on this past week.

This first page uses the brand NEW June Summer Wind kit! This kit has become a fast favorite and I know I'll be playing with it a LOT over the next few weeks!

One of the things I have noticed and LOVE about this kit is how well it coordinates with leftover doo dads from the past few Noel Mignon kits. On this page I used items mostly from the Summer Wind kit but also added in the flower, and Jenni Bowlin Magpie Quilted Stickers from the March Homespun Kit (sorry, sold out).

I created my title using the letters from the Tim Holtz NATURE Grungeboard set. I love how easy it is to sew through the grungeboard with my sewind machine! I dotted my I's with the Goosebump stickers from the kit. LOVE those things!

I also created a 4th of July page with the May Jack & Jill Kit . . . trying to get caught up on some summer memories from last year. :) I also added in the blue patterned paper from the January Cabin Fever Kit and the My Mind's Eye kraft journaling card from the Noel Mignon store.

I pulled out my Cricut machine to create the title, stars, and parade kids on this page. I wanted to add more interest to the title by mixing in the letter stickers from the Jack & Jill kit. I LOVE the way different fonts look together! I used both the Amy Tangerine Thickers and the Pebbles Letter Stickers here.

I had a lot of fun experimenting with the stamps from the kit on this page. I LOVE the frame stamp! Here I used the frilly edges of the frame stamp to create my own journal block by stamping around the edges of a square of patterned paper with the yellow Maya Road ink included in the kit. I also stamped the bird using the red ink.

Next, I added the frilly edges to the inside corner of each yellow star. I stamped the "Happy Day" phrase on a bookplate shape I cut out using my Cricut machine.

The silhouette image of the parade kids from my Cricut cartridge had each child carrying a parade flag. I trimmed off the flags from the image and replaced them using the Maya Road Kraft Flag Trinket Pins from the kit. I pulled out the Jar Stamp from the March Homespun Kit and used the star stamp to add some 4th of July flair to each kraft flag pin. I love the handcrafted feel a few die cuts and a little stamping add to a page!

Thanks for letting me share my creations with you today! I hope you feel inspired to pull out your Noel Mignon kits and get a little crafting in this Memorial Day.

See you again soon!

Playing with Summer Wind

I am lucky enough to already have my Summer Wind kit!
And it's a good one...trust me!!
I've made a couple of things already and I hope to get a chance to dive into it a little more over this long holiday weekend!
Here is a pretty simple layout about the minor league baseball games that my husband & I go to on Thursday  nights in the summer and fall.
I just kept the chipboard Thickers raw and used them as is-no ink or paint or anything!
And I like them that way!
:)
Here is a fun card using mostly Pink Paislee stickers and patterned paper from the kit.

That's all I've got...for now!
:)
Have a great week and enjoy the long holiday weekend!

A Couple of Shares

Hi Noel Mignon Fans!

I have a couple of scrapbook pages to share with you today. One page using the Jack & Jill kit and the other page uses the Primrose Lane kit.

This first one was created for the Got Sketch #143 challenge currently posted on their site HERE. Be sure to come and play along for your chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to the NoelMignon.com store!

I immediately fell in love with this house die cut included in my Jack & Jill kit and knew that I wanted to use it to scrapbook these photos of my kids and their cardboard houses they built in our basement last summer. Originally, I tried to follow the sketch more precisely with smaller photos and my layout design hugging the left edge of the page. The pictures are dark and just didn't show up very well in the smaller wallet size. So I decided to stretch the sketch across the width of my page, and use larger photos. Don't be afraid to change up a sketch to meet your needs. :)

I used a punch by EK Success to create the "grass" going across the bottom of my photos, then added lots of Crate Paper Border stickers from the kit to decorate the top and bottom of each "section" of the design.

I trimmed a length of washi tape from the kit with pinking shears and added a few stitches to help frame out my title.

...................................................................................

On this next page, I created a collage of photos from Easter last year on my computer using the free Scrapbooks Etc. collage templates found on their website. I love using templates like these when I have a lot of event photos that I want to cram on a page. :)

I wrapped a length of blue fabric ribbon that I had in my stash and then stitched on one of the crystal Bazzill buttons from the Primrose Lane Kit. Next, I matted it with a couple of layers of cardstock and patterned paper before adding it to the colorblocked background.

I LOVE the Crate Paper border stickers and find that they are the perfect thing to add when you need a little "something". I tucked a few underneath the edges of my photo collage and also added one to the upper right hand corner as a single hanging pennant.

I purchased the Neighborhood Phrase stickers from the shop to go along with my Primrose Lane kit and used the "Easter" sticker for a quick title on top of my photo collage. I also added the "Kindness" sticker to the lower left corner of my photos. LOVE how the colors work so well with this kit!

...................................................................................

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my pages today!

And don't forget to come play along with us at the Got Sketch #143 Challenge! See you there!

My Shadow & The Princess Rogue

I got to playing with the Jack & Jill kit the other day, and had such a blast playing with it. Here's the results of my playing!

This first one is based on the nautical themed Inspiration Monday we had on the message board last week:

(everything is from the Jack & Jill kit except for the map paper, which is from the Primrose Lane kit)

I LOVED taking my inspo from the nautical theme... it really stretched my boundaries and pushed me to create in some different way!

***************

I was still in the same mode for this next layout, so I kind of flipped my basic design of the banner strips and made them larger. I got my inspiration for the color scheme from my little girl's dress; I played around a lot with coordinating accents and it was fun!

(Mostly everything is from the Jack & Jill and Primrose Lane kits.... and can you tell that I'm addicted to this new punch in the shop?!)

Make sure to join the message board and get ready for some good times in just a couple of weeks! :)

I LOVE a good team up PLUS challenge! :)

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a FANTASTIC week! xx :)
As you all know, we've done a team up with Got Sketch team with one of their sketches. The kicker to this fun team up, is that there is a challenge and a chance to win a $20 GC to Noel Mignon's store! Woop! AWESOME right? Come play! Click here to find out how you can participate in on all the fun! Plus, see how everyone else used this FABULOUS sketch to create their beautiful layouts too! :)

I LOVE sketches...and the first thing I do when I print my sketch out, is turn it in different directions to see if I can make it work in different unique ways. This always gets my crafting juices revved up and ready to get started. I so LOVE the paper doll with our Jack and Jill kit, that I had to find a way to slip her into my project too...she's so CUTE right? It seemed very fitting for this layout, with Olivia reading to this sweet little girl.

I cut the scallop border to slide my pictures into it for a fun effect.

Here are a few detailed shots of what I created.

May -Jack and Jill kit is a total MUST have with all the GORGEOUS elements and papers! LOVE it!
Sketch for the challenge...Click here

Have fun! I can't wait to see what everyone created for this sketch challenge!
Thanks for playing!

School Layout with Jack & Jill Kit

Before the kids are home for the summer, I like to get their school scrapbooks all caught up for the year. This past school year my daughter served on student government. It was hard at times, but overall was a great and rewarding experience for my daughter. I created this page to jot down a few sentiments about how proud my husband and I were of my daughter for doing her best and being such a dependable young lady.

I used papers and embellishments from the May 2012 Jack & Jill kit along with my Cricut Expression machine, cartridges, & fea sheets of plain cardstock from my stash to design this page.

The Eagle is my daughter's school mascot. He is carrying one of the Maya Road kraft flags from the kit. I used the red ink from the kit to stamp a letter "J" on the flag . . . a subtle nod towards my daughter to show her that we are her biggest fans. I used my Cuttlebug machine and a Chevron embossing folder to add subtle texture to the circular background.

I LOVE mixing fonts together in my titles. I LOVE the sparkly blue letters contained in the kit. They are the perfect size to spell out longer words in my titles. I added a decorative brad from the kit to accent my die cut shape and then added a stamped image from my stash (Lawn Fawn Stamps). The border strip underneath the title is also stamped using the We R Memory Keepers roller stitch stamps.

Next, I die cut out a journaling block and an accent block. I used goodies from the kits to add some detail and dimension to each of these. I also added embossing to the "school zone" phrase.

Finally, I cut a number background to place behind my photo. The Basic Grey buttons from the kit help the photo to feel like it is anchored to the page instead of floating around.

Thanks for stopping by today! Pull out that Jack & Jill kit and scrap some school memories of your children before they are home for the summer and the memories become faded. :)

Happy Scrapping!
