Running Through the Wildflowers

Hi friends, Cassie here! I'm continuing our "May Flowers" week after our "April Showers" themed week last week.  This time I've got a layout up using the gorgeous Carousel kit which I was so excited to play with!

I love the dreamy colors in this kit, and they worked beautifully for these photos of my son running through a field of wildflowers.  Don't be afraid to use pink on layouts with your little boys- just pair it with some fun bright colors and you're in good shape :)

There are so many great embellishments in this kit- I had a hard time not using them all at once! Below you can see I used the diamond stickers, enamel hearts, vellum flowers, sequins and washi tape on just this one section of the layout.

Cherish Every Moment

Hello friends!! Today I have a layout to share with you using the new "Carousel" kit! This kit is sold out, but we still have a few sub spots open for the July-December term...head over and sign up before we close them out, so you don't miss out on any more of these fabulous kits!!!

For my layout today, I knew I wanted to use this fabulous Heidi Swapp paper that is included in the kit, the large script "Life is Beautiful" title was perfect, and I chose to build on it and make a long title.

It also gave me a perfect spot for my photo, rest of the title, and main embellishment cluster. I had lots of fun with this, altering some of the embellishments that came in the kit, to better fit the look I was going for with this layout.
I loved the layered vellum flowers from Pebbles, the one that best went with my layout, was a little heavy in the center though, so using the adorable feather stamp from the Lawn Fawn set in our kit, I altered it to fit my need. Using a light pink ink, I stamped it multiple times on a light pattern paper, then fussy cut them, and arranged then in the center of just one of the light pink vellum flower ( I deconstructed the one in the kit). Adding in a sequin, chipboard button, and some twine. I was able to create a cute, dimension flower that fit the spot I had in mind perfectly.

I also cut apart the wood veneer flower cluster ( that I loved) to be able to layer it in a few different places on my layout.
Finally, I need something up in that corner, and the adorable little banner pieces were perfect. They are a colored vellum, so they added just enough, without overpowering the area. I chose to cut mine in half, so I could layer them over one another, however, once I did that it gave me a pink and a yellow banner. The pink was perfect, but I found the yellow stood out a little too much against the rest of my color scheme. So, using the CUTE bow vellum that was in our kit, I traced and cut out and identical banner, and used that in place of the yellow. This allowed me to still layer my banners, but to make it all seem more cohesive.

You can still see a tiny bit of that yellow, since the original banner was an ombre, but in that small amount I was ok with using it.

I had alot of fun layering and altering embellishments on this layout. What are some of your favorite ways to change and alter embellishments to fit the look you are striving for on your projects??

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Or in the South's case... tornados! Ugh. We are under a tornado watch and I thankfully was able to distract myself a bit from the weather to finish up this layout and share with you guys.

Last week on the blog, we had lots of "rainy day" themed projects, so it's only natural we brighten these week up with some cute flowers!

I decided to go with the beautiful soft, watercolor colors from the Carousel kit  (sold out- if you missed it, you may want to check out getting an awesome deal on a subscription!) and make some cute flower accents for this birthday celebration page.

I created them by doing long stripes on sheet music with my gelatos, then brushing water over them and letting them dry. Next, I cut out wonky circles and adhered them. Black paint was added with a small brush for definition, and my white uniball gel pen  (aka the BEST PEN EVER) for some little doodles. To make them really pop, I added little bits of mod podge around the flowers and sprinkled on some of the Wow glitter from the kit. I think they are adorable!

I really like how they look paired with the vellum flowers from the kit. So pretty and feminine!

Make sure you never miss out on another NM kit again!

Lunch on the Green

Hello my creative friends! Jana Eubank here. I'm back with another page using the fun and happy Social Butterfly Kit. This kit is so perfect for so many of my memories ... it's been hard to choose which ones to scrap! Hehe!

LUNCH ON THE GREEN

Growing up, our town had a little mom-and-pop Hamburger/Donut shop on Main Street called "Carmack's." After a fire about twenty years ago the business closed down and we could no longer partake of the yumminess that they served.

Fast-forward fifteen years later to when we discovered that the children of the famous Carmack's were actually running the lunch counter at a local Golf Course. Neither me, nor my husband golf, but we love to go there to eat the delicious food and have made it a tradition to go there on the last day of school.

Before my daughter was in all-day school, she would come along with us. After lunch we would ask to borrow one of the golf carts and then take a joy ride around the course ... because golf courses always have the most beautiful scenery. We always have a great time!

The colors of this kit were perfect for scrapping this family tradition. I especially love all the green in this kit ... especially since it's rare to see green included in collections lately.

Thanks for taking a look at my project today. I hope you feel inspired to scrapbook one of your family traditions, big or small, using the Social Butterfly Kit.

Have fun!

When Skies are Gray **Social Butterfly kit

Here in West Texas where I live we are in a major drought. Some of you might have gotten more than your liking of snow and rain over the past few months but over here we are getting ready for some major restrictions on our water usage. Please send your rain our way!

Our theme for this week is "April showers..." but since we haven't had many of those I decided to just use the theme as part of the title of my page instead of for the pictures themselves.

I have four daughters and they sure can cheer me up when I am having a rough day (even when they might be part of the cause☺

Here is a layout that I created using the "Social Butterfly" kit from this month:

This chevron-striped paper was one of my favorites from the kit and I had a hard time choosing which side of the paper I would use so I decided to cut out a circle of paper using the lines on the reverse as my guide and then, after backing the chevron side on cardstock, adhered the round ledger print paper to the center of my layout. It ended up being the perfect place for part of my page title.

I cut out various sizes of clouds with some Lifestyle Crafts cloud dies. I raised some up on foam adhesive and drew a doodled edge on each cloud. I also added one of those cute My Mind's Eye pins to the center of the patterned paper circle.

The journal spot was cut from one of the patterned papers in the kit and I added just a bit of the Maya Road fabric tape to the top along with a cork arrow for a finishing touch.

Don't forget that kit subscriptions for July-December are open now! Don't miss out on these fantastic kits!

You can sign up at the new site here

Have a great day!

Easter Playtime

Good morning friends- Cassie here today! This week we're doing rainy day themed layouts.  Since I didn't have any rain themed photographs to use I decided to take some inspiration from "rain" for my color scheme and embellishments.  You'll see I have a blue/turquoise layout with some cloud embellishments near the title- so that's my "rain" interpretation :)

Don't forget to renew or sign up for your new Noel Mignon subscription!  Time is running out and the spots are filling up FAST! Go HERE to sign up :) Have a great Wednesday everyone (and hope you had a wonderful Easter)

You Make Me Happy

Hello friends!! I have a super cute "rainy day" card to share with you today!! When I was trying to decide what to create for this assignment, I couldn't find any "rainy day" photos, so I decided to check out the silhouette store and see if anything caught my eye. I had originally thought I would do something with umbrellas, but then I stumbled upon this adorable little cloud and knew this was it!

I wanted this card to be bright and fun, so I went through the last few kits and pulled out hot pinks, greens, blues...and then of course, I had to use this raindrop paper from Basic Grey...and it worked perfectly to pull it all together.

For my sentiment, I wanted to keep it all occasion, and of course, "you are my sunshine" popped into my mind. Made for the perfect sentiment for the card!!

Also, don't forget there are still spots open for the next term of subs!!Follow this link to sign up for yours today!!!

April Showers...

Why yes, I am STILL on a rainbow kick with the Social Butterfly kit!

I kind of love ol' ROY G BIV, and this kit has the perfect mix of papers and embellishments to let me scrap this happy combination to my heart's content!

This week's theme is "April Showers," and I had the perfect photos
I had snapped with my phone to go with it!

I added some rhinestones to this pretty die cut card, to echo the idea of raindrops splashing on the ground.

The smattering of raindrops and embellishments along the side just makes me happy. I love rainy days!

My Crazy Fun Family and Bunny Hop Day #5

Hi guys! Jana Eubank here. Today I created a page focusing on a one favorite photo using the Social Butterfly Kit.

But first, today wraps up the Bunny Hop over on the new website, so here is today's clue to find egg #5!

Today's egg can be found with a product that is small and shiny.  It is the color of a medal you can win at the Olympics.  Liberace loved these.    Start your hunt here... http://www.noelmignon.com/ and be sure to copy and paste the egg (or screenshot it) and share on your facebook or instagram (or both) feed with the #noelmignon, so we can spy your find.  Good luck!

Circles are a great way to frame a photo on a scrapbook page. I cut a large circle from the Crate Paper school lines paper included in the kit and used it as the focus for my photo grouping.

MY CRAZY FUN FAMILY

Next, I layered together a couple of strips of patterned paper across the top of the page, and then handcut some chevron pieces from other patterned papers. I accented them with the Jillibean Soup Wood/Epoxy buttons and placed shape stickers on the center of each one.

I created a mixed title using both sheets of stickers from the kit. It's a really fun way to add a lot of impact to a design.

I then created three little groupings of elements surrounding my photo using lots of fun elements from the kit. Making sure to spread the aqua blue around the page to create a visual triangle with the Jillibean Soup piece at the top of the page.

Do you have any silly photos that deserve to be front and center on a scrapbook page? Try framing them with a large circle.

Also, a friendly reminder that the subscriptions are open for the upcoming term of kits!  They are filling fast, so don't miss out, secure your spot today!

Have fun creating!

Bunny Hop Day #4 and Easter Eggs

Hello again!

We are hop-hop-hopping this week and hope you are all having fun checking out the brand new Noel Mignon store and are finding all of the hidden Easter eggs!

All you have to do is read each blog post this week and, using the clues given, head to the store, find the eggs hidden in the store and post them in your Facebook or Instagram feed with the tag #noelmignon. One lucky egg finder who posts the image of all 5 eggs will have a chance to WIN the May kit, "Carousel."

Here is your clue for today:

Today's egg can be found in an all time favorite product.  This sturdy alphabet is perfect for title work.   It is sparkly, and the color of something you chew.    Start your hunt here... http://www.noelmignon.com/ and be sure to copy and paste the egg (or screenshot it) and share on your facebook or instagram (or both) feed with the #noelmignon, so we can spy your find.

Good luck!

Speaking of Easter Eggs, I have an Easter layout to share with you today that I made using the April kit, Social Butterfly.

I really liked the idea of using this paper for a background and knew right away that I wanted to cut out some of the squares. I first figured out where I wanted my photo block to be and chose random squares around that area to cut out using my x-acto knife. I used spray mist and a paintbrush to paint around the edge of the squares and then backed the openings with other papers from the April kit, adhering them to the back of my paper with tape. I misted my background with droplets of a variety of spray mists (some Heidi Swapp Color Shine and some Studio Calico Mister Huey) to mimic the egg dye.

I used one of the Jillibean Soup mini placemats on the left side and some of the fun distressed Thickers as well. The pink bow matched so well with Sarah's egg that I just "had" to add that, too.

I added some of the fun October Afternoon stickers here and there on my page to finish things off.

One more thing before I go:

Bunny Hop Day 2

Hello and Welcome to Day 2 of our Bunny Hop!! I have a fun gift box and our second clue to share with you today!

1)  Come to the blog each day to find your clue, and then hop over to the website to find your egg
2) Copy and paste the egg, each day, for a total of 5 eggs.
3) Each day paste the egg that you found in your Facebook, or Instagram feed, and tag us #noelmignon
4) One random bunny hop player who collects all 5 eggs (one each day), and shares each day, will win the upcoming May kit, "Carousel"!

Here is your clue for today!!

Today's egg can be found not in a product description.  It is hiding with a designer.  She is the newest member of the design team.   Start your hunt here... http://www.noelmignon.com/ and be sure to copy and paste the egg (or screenshot it) and share on your facebook or instagram (or both) feed with the #noelmignon, so we can spy your find.  Good luck!

Now for my project! I am trying to stay ahead of the game and have some fun generic cards and gift boxes around, trying to avoid all those last minute scrambles! When I saw this cute mason jar box, I knew I wanted to give it a try with the Wishing Well Kit! The colors and patterns were pretty season neutral in this kit, and I knew the gold accents would make for a beautiful gift box!

I kept things fairly simple except for my main cluster. I also left a sentiment off so that way when the perfect occasion for this comes along, I can add it in! Here is a close of some of the detail.

I also wanted to remind everyone that the next round of subs are open and filling up FAST!! Make sure you get signed up so you don't miss out on any of these fabulous kits!!! Go here to find all the details!!
