It's a great life

How are y'all doing today?

This will be my last post for a while...life necessitates that I cut back on scrapping for a little while but hopefully in the not-too-distant future maybe I will be able to do more again. With 4 kids things can get a little hectic. I don't know how I managed years ago to take on multiple design teams and actually get everything done!

I think that maybe it's because the kids were tiny and there was this thing called nap time when I could get some things done everyday. ☺

Anyway, I've used both You Go Girl kits from this month to create this layout below:

I started with a white cardstock base like I do a lot of the time and added some spray mist in pink hues to match my girls' shirts and then added the cute x's and o's diecut mat. I layered some patterned paper, Simple Stories little squares of paper and a journaling spot from the Elle's Studio calendar cards.

The pale pink heart was cut from another calendar card from the Daily Diary kit. I added some washi and stickers to the card with the green box at the top.

One of my favorite parts of these March kits was the cute icons like these adorable girls, pretzels, flowers and sunshines. SO fun!

Thank you for stopping by Noel Mignon today ♥

Stay tuned every day for more creations with the You Go Girl kits and soon the design team will share some projects with the beautiful new Vintage Spring kits.  As always, check out the store to see what other things you might like to have to go along with your kits.

Welcome spring

Hello again!

It's always great to be here to share projects with you that I make using Noel's kits.

The You Go Girl kits are gorgeous- and if you think so, you should see the kits for April. They are so beautiful. You will love them ♥

Anyway, for my project today I decided to create a piece of home decor using bits from both of the You Go Girl kits:

I started with this wooden piece from Jillibean Soup Mix the Media that I found at my local Walmart store.

I cut some flowers out of cardstock using my Silhouette diecutting machine and then covered those with patterned paper from the kits. I also cut the word "welcome" to use on this project. I layered the diecut flowers with Prima paper flowers found in both of the in the kits this month.

The butterflies are from a sheet of patterned paper in the Classic kit. I simply cut around them and glued them onto the project.

I finished off this simple project with a strip of gold scalloped washi tape from the washi book included in the kit.

Thanks for stopping by Noel Mignon today ♥

remembering the best times

Hey there!

Is it spring break where you are?

It is here and we've been lazily enjoying our time off.

We haven't gone anywhere amazing or done anything too exciting but it's been fun to be home and to relax and not have to be too many places like we would on a regular week. With one daughter in competitive gymnastics we get to travel a lot this time of year so we are happy to just be able to stay home and do nothing ☺

For this week's project I used the You Go Girl Daily Diary kit. It's adorable and there are still two left in the shop!

For this page I used the grid paper in the Daily Diary kit. The rainbow striped piece is actually the paper insert from the little foam Thickers. I just pulled it out of the packaging and cut a strip off and saved the remainder for another project. I love to use packaging and other kit contents in creative ways.

This little frame was from the kit as well. I used spray mist in green and aqua to add some color to it and then added a couple of Pink Fresh Studios leatherette tags and other embellishments around it.

One of my favorite parts of Noel's kits is the mix of alphas that can be used in titles. Here I used the foam Thickers from the Daily Diary kit and some puffy stickers and a chipboard word to make the title for my page.

What have you been creating lately?

We'd love to have you visit with us and share your creative ideas on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page.

Have a great day!

Selfies from a silly 6 year old

It's a beautiful spring-like day and I'm happy to share my first layout with the You Go Girl kits from this month. I got both kits because they are so cute, and plan to mix and match items from both kits on my projects. This page, though, uses only product from the Classic kit.

Do your kids ever leave funny selfies on your phone?

I was moving pics from my phone to the computer and found these pics of my youngest daughter (along with about ten more pictures) and decided to use them for this page. The little camera and smile! chipboard went perfectly with the theme of my page.

It's been a bit of a crazy week and the west Texas wind lately has given me headaches. Truth be told, I made this layout late last night and decided to keep things quick and easy.

Sometimes that is the best, though, to allow the photographs to take center stage.

I used some strips of patterned paper along with some Pink Paislee washi tape strips.

I drew some lines with the nozzle of my spray mist to create a spot for hand journaling.

I finished off the page with lots of Simple Stories stickers and a mixed-alpha title using the chipboard Thickers and blue alphas from the You Go Girl Classic kit.

I thought the little pink sunglasses were so cute and liked how they looked right on one of the pics of my silly girl ☺

Have a fantastic day!

cousins and best friends

Hello again!

I have one more project to share this week using the So Sweet Daily Diary kit.

This page features one of my kids and her cousin. They are not just cousins but great friends.

I used a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper and a couple of journaling card as the base of my page. I cut the extra part off of the card with the zigzag top and layered the cards and added a couple of strips of washi tape. I cut out some hearts by hand and added the black pen detailing.

These gold Thicker words were one of my favorite parts of the kit. The "best friends' words were perfect for the theme of my page.

On each of my pages I try to add some handwritten journaling.

Soon you will start to see projects created using the March kit.

I can't wait for mine to get here so that I can start creating and sharing with you.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for visiting Noel Mignon!

in the mood to make cards

Happy February 15 ♥

I don't know what it is about Valentines Day but it had me in the mood to make some more cards this week, so that is what I have to share with you here today.

Both cards were created with the super cute  So Sweet Daily Diary kit using the little Simple Stories sticker sheets. The only other things added was some twine, washi tape and a strip of patterned paper. Quick and easy!

I hope you're having fun with your kit this month!

Sketchy inspiration from Becky Fleck

When I saw that our challenge this week was to use a sketch or other inspiration source my first thought was to see what new sketches Becky Fleck had released and as I suspected, I found a great sketch for me to use for this week's project.

Here is the sketch I found, and it's from the February PageMaps by Becky Fleck.

I didn't follow the sketch exactly but did use the same basic design for my page.

Here is what I came up with using the So Sweet Daily Diary Kit

With this pretty floral from Simple Stories as the background of my page I started with a piece of white cardstock as the anchor, then placed a 6x6 sheet of tan heart paper and a few Becky Higgins journaling cards before placing my photo.

As in the sketch I used for inspiration, I had a horizontal and vertical strip of Simple Stories Love & Adore washi tape where I added a variety of hearts from the kit.

The large heart that you can see here was cut from one of the journaling cards included in the kit. I finished off my page with some of the cute Simple Stories pennant and sentiment stickers.

What is inspiring you to create lately?

We'd love to have you share it with us at the Noel Mignon Facebook group.

Can you believe it's February?

I don't know about you but January has felt like two months.

And yet some days felt like they went by in a blur.

Now that it's February we will be sharing projects using the new So Sweet Classic and Daily Diary kits. There are still a couple of each kit in the Noel Mignon online store.

For this week I've created a few quick cards each measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".

For each card I started with the white cardstock base and layered tape, ribbon and sentiment cards on the Becky Higgins journaling cards.

They are pretty simple and straight-forward, which is great for me with as crazy as things have been around our house lately.

I finished off this last one with a big pink bow on the top ♥

sharing my craftiness

This week we are focusing on getting crafty.

The truth is, I used to be really crafty.

I would sew a little and crochet and do cross stitch and embroidery, I would paint and do scrapbooking.

Now with my kids and their various activities and other demands on my time, I really don't do any of that any more.

One thing that I enjoy, one hobby that I have continued since I was a kid, is photography.

So, I chose to base my project on that today.

I started with a plain white cardstock canvas and poured some acrylic paint and some of the Ranger Liquid Pearls from the kit onto my paper and then used a popsicle stick to spread and mix the paints.

I used one strip of patterned paper and tore the bottom edge.

From there I added my photos and journaling spots.

It really is a simple page design. I just added the scalloped chipboard border sticker, a piece of flair and some other little embellishments to finish off the page after adding my title using the black Thickers in the kit.

Thanks for stopping by Noel Mignon today!

I have a 13 year old?

Hello!

It's Becky here with you to share a new Noel Mignon kit project.

I know that you're not used to seeing me on Wednesdays, but here I am!

I am filling in for one of our other designers today and have a project to share using the cute She's Crafty Classic Kit.

The focal point of this page is the picture of my oldest daughter, now a teenager.

How does the time go by so quickly?

I drew attention to the photo with some handcut flowers from a piece of patterned paper in the kit as well as a pretty bow from the satin ribbon also in the kit.

I used a couple of rub-on butterflies. I love the rub-ons in this kit. They are super smooth and easy to use.

Yes, I know that this picture has a little something extra in it, a little something fuzzy, ha ha.

We got a new kitty last month and he likes to be where we are.

That's real life for ya ☺

He just wanted to make sure that you noticed the bow, ha ha.

I used a couple of strips of patterned paper- I liked how the black and white print contrasted nicely with the colors on the flowers. I added enamel dots to many of the flowers on my page and finished it off with a title using the chipboard Thickers in the kit.

Have a wonderful day!

She turned 12

Today I have another project to share with you using this month's She's Crafty Classic Kit

My second oldest recently turned 12, so this week's layout features her:

I wanted to show off a lot of the patterned papers in the kit without losing the white space on my page so I used a star diecut made using my Silhouette machine and filled each open space with a different pattern. I also started with a clean white cardstock background and misted it with aqua, green, yellow and pink spray mist.

After that I added strips of paper and tape, some rub-ons (love these!) and then layered tags and journaling spots on the left side of the page. I used the cute black Thickers for my title and accented things with enamel dots. I also used the Ranger "Mermaid" Liquid Pearls to make little dots around the curves of the black diecut circle. A little tip about the circle: instead of tucking one side under and wasting the part that was under the tags, I cut it and used the other piece on the page as well.

One of my favorite embellishments in the kit is the pack of Elle's Studio acrylic words. I used the "hooray" and heart on this page and used a Copic marker to color over the white.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

New year, new post, new challenge

Happy New Year!

It's me, Becky, here with you today to share my first project of the year with you.

We were challenged to create a project focusing on something NEW.

Well, I did something that was new for me...I created a layout with NO PHOTOS.

Have you ever done that before? It was a switch for me but I like the end result.

I created this layout using the brand new She's Crafty Classic Kit, full of bright, fun colors and lots of great embellishments that I took full advantage of for this page.

Here is a look at the full page:

And here are some detail shots:

To start off I used the ledger paper in the classic kit. I added thin strips of patterned paper on each edge and then added droplets of spray mist in a few different colors. After that I started layering the rubons until I had it set the way I wanted.

I then added strips of the cute washi from the kit at the top and bottom of my page, then added the title with chipboard alpha stickers included in the kit.

The next thing that I did on this page is I started adding my journaling, then more and more journaling to fill the space. In the journaling I talked about how I wanted to try and live in this new year. I mixed in quotes and other stickers to add some variety to the journaling.

I used a blue marker on the acrylic word to help it stand out more on my page.

I finished off my page with a few more embellishments like this cute Jillibean Soup heart and some enamel dots.

So, not only does this page talk about my goals for the new year but I also challenged myself to try something new with this project.

What is something new YOU would like to try this year?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
