Hey everybody! Happy Friday!
Sometimes I just need to be creative in a hurry. I mean, layouts take me a long time, and sometimes I just need that quick fix to get me going again. That's where cards come in.
I was going through my past kits, pulling letter stickers out to go in the letter sticker drawers, and flowers to go into the flower jar, scrap papers to go in the scrap container. You know, just a little spring kit cleaning. And then in the middle of all this cleaning, it hit me, BAM, and I just had to sit down with all this yummy stuff and make something!!
SO I pulled some of the older kit goodies and some of the new Mary Ellen yumminess, and made these cards. Can I just say, it was purty darn satisfying!!
Gotta love instant gratification, huh?
Have a great weekend!!
xoxo

cute shoes
Every girl loves a cute pair of shoes, right? I recently discovered the best place to find cute ones for a good price near my home, so I've treated myself a bit more often!
I decided to take a few pics of my favorite pair and make a simple layout. It'll be fun to look back on them one day!

Layouts with Sleepy Hollow!
I've been doing a little scrapping with the "Sleepy Hollow" kit (sorry, sold out!) and working on my Halloween photos from this past October. Today, I have a couple of layouts to share with you. First, here are my cuties with their "scaredy cat" shirts I got them for Halloween. Halloween will always be cute and fun not scary and spooky at our house. For this layout, I brought out the purple, orange and silver with mist on kraft cardstock.
And, on this layout, I chose my favorite photos of the girls trick-or-treating for the first time at a couple of local malls. This one is fairly simple but I made a "paper ribbon" border along the bottom of the layout for added interest.
See you next week!

Easter Fun
Easter has come and gone. Now is the time to get your Easter pictures printed and create a layout with them. I still have a few Easter layouts of my own that I still plan to make.
For this layout I used the Mary Ellen kit. LOVE the colors in this kit! They were a perfect match for the pictures I used.
I can't wait to see your Easter layouts! Make sure you link it in the comments section so that I can leave you some love!
Happy creating!

travel album {after - part 1}
I have finished the first part of my travel album...just in time to add part 2! I plan on adding journaling & photos from our cross country trek to WA so I'm calling these pics 'part 1'.
I have pretty much filled up this album with the exception of one page so once I get to WA I'll need to create more pages. Just didn't get a chance to do that before all of my scrapbook goodies were packed up for their travels. But that's alright cause I have a feeling I won't be feeling like scrapbooking on the road after all the driving we'll be doing.
So here's the 'after' pics from the travel album. To see the 'before' pics head on over to this post.
Most of the papers & embellishments for this album came from misc kits & a few things from my own stash.
I didn't make any changes to the 1st couple pages. I did add some journaling to the backside of the map.
I also changed up a few pages. The page on the right was actually further back in the book but I wanted to use it for the picture of my son sitting in the cockpit which was on our first flight. That's the great thing about these books - just because you created it one way doesn't mean you can't change it up to fit your needs!
New Jenni Bowlin stamp for journaling, Echo Park tag (Jump & Jive kit) , Jillibean Soup tag with alphas from the new Mary Ellen kit.
Photos & postcards. I grabbed postcards from the states we had layovers in. On the way there we stopped in Minneapolis, MN & on the way back Salt Lake City, UT. By the way, Sharpie markers are great for journaling directly on photos.
On the backside of the postcard I added the stubs from our plane tickets & some Pink Paislee tape.
Instax pics, ticket stubs & more postcards
Journaling on the shipping tags along with some photos. Don't forget to take pics of food. It's amazing how much a photo of food can bring back memories of a restaurant! October Afternoon stickers from Mary Ellen kit.
Ephemera from restaurants - a drink coaster, napkin & take out menu.
Journaling about our new house along with an Instax pic.
Another Echo Park tag with journaling on the back, movie stubs.

I used the envelope to keep some things that I didn't put in the album & added some photos to the back with some of that great new Hambly washi tape.
And again, another postcard with a photo attached to the back.
I also had my kids write a little something about our trip to WA :)

I'm saving the last page for some of our road trip along with more pages that I'll add when we get there.
I used the envelope in the back to keep extra Instax photos & other memorabilia.
And that's it for now. Soon I will have about 11 states worth of memories to add to this album!
To be continued...

I know a few of you have jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon, and I'll be the first to admit I'm completely hooked. Here are a few images I thought to be really inspiring. (Click on pictures to see source and link)
In fact, these images remind me a little of the Mary Ellen kit!

Mothers Day..
It might be a bit early but I thought these pictures that would be great to use with the new Jump and Jive kit! (still SIX left!)
I got my layout all done and then remembered... journaling!! uugh... so I printed my journaling on a large tag and scalloped the top so that it would work with my layout and then hid it behind the large photo mat! Wa-la! Journaling that looks like I meant to do that the whole time! ;)
