Creating Cards with The Big Splash Daily Diary Kit

Happy Saturday!! Danielle here today to share 4 Cards with you that I created using the Big Splash Daily Diary Kit

For the first card, I ruffled and stitched some of the gorgeous ombre sheer ribbon that was include in the kit, to look like a wave at the top of the card. I thought it paired perfect with the beach scene paper.

For my second card I created a birthday one. I love the Heidi Swapp stamp set that was included this month. That bottle cap paper is one of my favourites, and I paired it with some yellow trim from my stash.

My third card I stitched on the entire sheet of Jenni Bowlin Yellow Alpha Stickers. I love that large pop of yellow with the letters as the background. Next I layered some paper scraps and project life cards, then finished it off with some turquoise trim from my stash.

My fourth card, I pieced together some scraps of paper and stitched on some yellow trim. Next I cut out the cute beach chair from one of the papers and hot glued it over the ruffle. I finished it off by using the stamp set with black Versafine Ink.

A few cards with the So Sweet Daily Diary Kit

I know Valentine's day has come and gone, but I love making cards.  The daily diary kits are perfect for this as they always contain fun little embellishments that fit a smaller size perfectly.  This week the design team was challenged was to use a grid or circle design in our projects.  I went for a grid design as the base of my cards and then built on from the main idea.

I started with cardstock from the main classic kit for each of my cards along with a few pattern papers.  All the embellishments and stickers are from the daily diary kit.

This card I punched the pattern papers with a large square punch and then filled the spaces with elements from the kit.  I popped up one of the small squares in the middle with foam adhesive.

One of my favorites in the kit this month were those cute little metal hearts charms.

This card was a more simplified grid since I only kept it in a square.  I used the square stickers and then filled the opposing "boxes" with thicker hearts.

The sentiment is a phrase from a sticker sheet.  I finished the top and bottom off with strips of washi tape.

You can see this card used that same grid idea and I filled some of the imaginary boxes with embellishments and then left others empty.

I used the square stickers from the kit, phrase stickers, and then a heart thicker with a couple of strips of pattern paper to finish off this simple card.

The last card I took a little more liberty with my grid.  I started making a grid with the puffy heart stickers and then left a space in the center for my sentiment.  It really resemble a grid, but it was the inspiration I started with.  The sentiment is a rubon from the American Crafts sheet that I placed on a Project Life 3x4 card.  I used foam adhesive to attach this to my card and then cut a few hearts from pattern paper to peak out form underneath.

I finished it off with some phrase stickers on the top and bottom.

I had so much fun with this weeks challenge.  It really pushed me to play with the product in the kits in different ways.  I love that!

in the mood to make cards

Happy February 15 ♥

I don't know what it is about Valentines Day but it had me in the mood to make some more cards this week, so that is what I have to share with you here today.

Both cards were created with the super cute  So Sweet Daily Diary kit using the little Simple Stories sticker sheets. The only other things added was some twine, washi tape and a strip of patterned paper. Quick and easy!

I hope you're having fun with your kit this month!

Can you believe it's February?

I don't know about you but January has felt like two months.

And yet some days felt like they went by in a blur.

Now that it's February we will be sharing projects using the new So Sweet Classic and Daily Diary kits. There are still a couple of each kit in the Noel Mignon online store.

For this week I've created a few quick cards each measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".

For each card I started with the white cardstock base and layered tape, ribbon and sentiment cards on the Becky Higgins journaling cards.

They are pretty simple and straight-forward, which is great for me with as crazy as things have been around our house lately.

I finished off this last one with a big pink bow on the top ♥

Thank you for stopping by the Noel Mignon blog today. Please check out our Facebook page to see what we have going on and to share your scrappy projects.

Have a great rest of your week!

My "Old Lady" hobby with She's Crafty Classic Kit

Happy Tuesday!  How are you enjoying the January kit?  Isn't it gorgeous!  When it first arrived and I started going through all the different products I immediately thought of one of my hobbies, cross stitch.  I know a lot of people think of it as an "old lady" hobby including my husband.  I tend to do it at night and it relaxes me before I head to bed.  The past year I have really started enjoying it more and more and have taken on all kinds of different projects.

For this layout I printed off Instagram photos of some of those projects.

I thought it would be very fitting to include a little stitching.  I hand wrote part of my title and then poked holes before using a straight stitch.

The circle wood pieces in the kit are what made me think of cross stitch in the first place.  I stitched a heart in blue embroidery floss and placed it on top of the journaling space.

I left the needle and thread attached and placed it next to my title.

The last little touches were some washi tape along the top and bottom and some fussy cut flowers.

I also decided to play on a smaller scale and made a few cards.
I really love the rubons in the kit this month.  They are so delicate and feminine and are the main focus of this card.

I rarely make cards that I can mail and decided to keep this card pretty flat.  I layered the rubons on top of each other and placed the little "celebrate" sentiment right on top.  As a finishing touch I added a strip of pattern paper along the top and some coordinating enamel dots.

After working on a flat card I then went the opposite direction.  Lots of layers and plenty of foam adhesive.

I started with a few circles I punched from pattern paper.  Three of the circles I added washi tape to the top and trimmed off the overhang.  I then added foam adhesive to the back and layered  the rubons, chipboard, and Tim Holtz paper flowers.

One last card.  I love the color swatches and decided they would make a fun background.  I trimmed out enough to cover the top leaving room for a little sentiment in the bottom corner.

I finished off with the puffy stickers.

It's been awhile since I made any cards and it was nice to work on a smaller scale again.

Christmas Cheer

Today I have a few little projects to share with you.

Something about the holiday season makes me want to be crafty!

The hard part is finding time to create in between school, kids' activities and holiday fun so the projects I share with you today are quick and easy to complete in a short amount of time.

All of these were made using the Gingerbread and Peppermint Daily Diary kit found here.

My first project is this altered wooden tree decoration:

For this I cut paper strips the width of the tree branches and glued them on with a tape roller adhesive. I used washi tape from the kit on a couple of the branches as well as green glitter tape on the base. I did use some gold tape from my craft supply for the star at the top of the tree.

I also made a couple of quick cards using some My Mind's Eye journaling cards from the kit along with washi tape, puffy letters and some twine.

Have a wonderful day!

Cards with the Weekend in Paris Daily Diary Kit

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope you are having a fabulous week so far.  It is stormy here in Utah today.  I'm excited since I love summer rain storms and I'm hoping it clears out the smoky air that we have had from all the forest fires.

This week the design team was challenged to add hand or machine stitching to our projects.  As I started pulling out all the elements from the daily diary kit I found myself playing with some of the embellishments and knew they would be perfect on cards.

I cut the pendant from one of the 4x6 cards and added the sentiment with a mix of thickers and a 3x4 card.   I added some messy machine stitching to the top of my sentiment.  To achieve a little dimension I used foam adhesive and then tucked my sticker embellishments underneath.

I added a little bit of shine to the butterfly with a little Heidi Swapp color shine from my stash.

I usually make cards in 2's or 3's so the above card led into the this one:

I used my sewing machine to tack down the background pattern paper.  I then placed a small strip of pattern paper on the bottom and built my elements over the top.  Three of the Heidi Swapp stickers were placed in a visual triangle around my card and I used one of the frames to house my sentiment.  The gold glitter heart as well as the 'be bright', 'be you' were all cut from 3x4 project life cards.

I really love making cards, but I really need to be better about using them.  I'm ashamed to admit how high my stack of homemade cards is getting.  That is all from me today.  I hope you are enjoying this months kit as much as I am.

Happy Scrapping!

Cards with the Spring Fling Classic Kit

Hello, Nicole here on the blog today.  I decided to use my last post of the month to share a few cards  that I put together with odds and ends from the kit.  I decided to pull all the bright pinks from the kit to put together this card.  The transparency, washi, and ribbon.  The sentiment I pulled from the stamp set and I layered this on top of the Prima flowers.  I love the soft feminine look!

I also used a bit of transparency from my stash to stamp the flower stamps and then cut them out and placed them behind the paper daisies.

The card I challenged myself to use the stickers for the sentiment and embellishments.

I used foam adhesive under some of the leaves to add a bit of dimension to the large flower sticker.

Lastly I decided to use a circle punch and I covered it with the phrase stickers on the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet.  I then trimmed the overhang and attached it with foam adhesive.  I also used the bonjour sticker as my sentiment and used foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping over to the blog today.
