Myrtle Beach: June "Dive In" Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with my last layout using the June classic kit.  This week, we are challenging everyone to work with sketches.  I found one on Pinterest that I liked and used it to make this layout.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I loved the large banners and knew it would be a great way to use up some leftover strips of paper from the kit.  I took advantage of the flamingos as well being that these are beach photos.

I used the sunglasses in place of the circular sun in the sketch.  The quote is from the cut apart sheet.

The chipboard flamingo was screaming at me to use it.  I love how it snuggled up next to the title.

Some die cuts, puffy stickers and enamel dots helped to finish up the layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I have loved working with the bright summer colors in this kit!  I hope you will use this sketch as well!

Shrimp & Grits: June "Dive In" Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the June classic kit.  I wanted to document one of my new favorite dishes to order at restaurants, shrimp and grits!  So yummy!

I wanted to bring out the green from the dish in the layout.  Using the Crate Paper background and green floral paper really helped highlight it.  I chose pink as my secondary color by bringing it in with the Echo Park flamingo print paper.  Using the Project Life gold rub ons, I brought in the gold from the die cut.

The Dear Lizzy Thickers were great as the title and the Elle's Studio tiny alphabets were perfect for my subtitle.

For my journaling, I used strips of the Jillibean Soup pink paper to help bring in the larger layer and to stand out against the floral paper (also Jillibean Soup).

I finished it off with cameras cut out from the Jillibean Soup paper and some enamel dots.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I can't wait to see what you guys are making with this kit so far!  Happy Scrapping!

Sisters: June "Dive In" Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with this week's challenge layout.  We were challenged to use pictures about water or swimming.  I have this awesome picture of some of my sorority sisters on the beach, with the ocean in the background.

I really wanted to use those flamingos, so this one was perfect since it's a beach picture and they're just fun!  I also wanted to keep everything very centered around the photo in the middle to help highlight the background paper.

I used a cut apart with the lanterns on it as a layering piece.  The flamingo ribbon was fun to layer right on top of the flamingo pattern paper.  All of the flamingos!!!!

For the title, I combined the awesome Dear Lizzy Thickers and the Elle's Studios tiny alphabet stickers.  As an accent, I used a cutout from a Project Life card (not included in the kit) that has a doodled rose on it because our sorority flower is a rose and it really reminded me of it.

To finish it off, I used some of the Echo Park chipboard - those flip flops are adorable!  And two little puffy stickers to help bring in the background paper was the perfect tie in!

I hope you all enjoyed my layout.  I challenge you to use that awesome background paper and see how you can highlight it.

Happy Scrapping!

Ice Cream FTW: June "Dive In" Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with my first layout using the June "Dive In" classic kit.  I just happened to have a picture of my daughter Layla eating ice cream.  As soon as I saw all of the ice cream themes throughout this kit, I knew this picture would be scrapped!

I used the aqua cardstock as a base and to mat my picture and used the Crate Paper Oasis paper as a background.  As I was cutting into the awesome Crate Paper Oasis and Echo Park Summer Dreams papers to use as layers, I kept turning them over and using the B sides as well!  It all just came together so wonderfully.

The Dear Lizzy Thickers are so beautiful and a nice muted gold glitter.  I also used the circular chipboard element from the large paper fans (those are bit big for my taste), but I was still able to use the chipboard ice cream here.

I wanted to use that ice cream quote from the Summer Dreams cut apart paper.  Instead of using it as a square element, I fussy-cut the ice cream and inked up the edges to use here.  I used a strip of the yellow ribbon to anchor my main bulk of clusters.

The My Mind's Eye die cuts worked perfectly here, one being an ice cream pop and the other saying "TGIF" as this photo was taken on a Friday.  PERFECT!  I also used up a couple of those Echo Park chipboard ice cream pieces.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I challenge you to take a look through your photos and see if you have any great ice cream shots to use with these awesome ice cream themes with this kit.

Cards with the Spring Fling Classic Kit

Hello, Nicole here on the blog today.  I decided to use my last post of the month to share a few cards  that I put together with odds and ends from the kit.  I decided to pull all the bright pinks from the kit to put together this card.  The transparency, washi, and ribbon.  The sentiment I pulled from the stamp set and I layered this on top of the Prima flowers.  I love the soft feminine look!

I also used a bit of transparency from my stash to stamp the flower stamps and then cut them out and placed them behind the paper daisies.

The card I challenged myself to use the stickers for the sentiment and embellishments.

I used foam adhesive under some of the leaves to add a bit of dimension to the large flower sticker.

Lastly I decided to use a circle punch and I covered it with the phrase stickers on the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet.  I then trimmed the overhang and attached it with foam adhesive.  I also used the bonjour sticker as my sentiment and used foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping over to the blog today.
Happy Scrapping!

Unicorn - May Spring Fling DD Kit

Hey!  Sarah here with my last layout using the May Spring Fling Daily Diary kit.  Who else got a Unicorn Frappaccino when Starbucks had them?  I sure did and it was good.  I didn't enjoy the sour aspect quite as much, but overall I enjoyed the drink.

I love that some of the papers and embellishments in the kit went perfectly with the theme I was going for.  I printed the picture to a 4x4 and printed out that Starbucks image I found online.  For the layering around the photo, I used two 4x6 project life cards and a scrap from one of the 6x6 papers.

I used an old Studio Calico coffee stain stamp and pink and purple inks to create these coffee stain clusters (none included in the kit).  The purple flowers from the kit were on a "vine" so I cut them off and scattered them around the stain stamps.  I also loved that "Ain't Life Grand" flair badge since the drink in the picture is a grande size.

I immediately knew I wanted to use this Dear Lizzy sentiment Thicker on this page.  Many people were "mad" about the drink or thought it was a dumb idea.  I didn't - I totally bought into it, lol!

The purple glitter Thickers are from my stash, but I HAD to use them here!  And I finished off the layout with a wood veneer and puffy stickers from the kit.

I love how whimsical this layout turned out and how girly it looks for that pink and purple drink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  If you have photos of this drink, I encourage you to use your May kit with it, it's awesome!

Band Geek with the Spring Fling Classic Kit

Hi all!  Nicole here on the blog today to share my latest layout with the Spring Fling Classic kit.  This weeks theme is embellishments.  Noel always includes a great mix of embellishments each month and this time around the embellishments inspired the layout.  My son is a huge bank geek.  He really established that this school year.  I decided to use the Jillibean wood veneer check marks in my journaling to highlight a few things that make him a band geek.

The base cardstock I pulled from last months Let's Get Lost Kit.  I really wanted a dark base to help showcase the bright colors in this months kit.  I used my silhouette to cut my title.

I backed the large part of the title with a music staff die cut (cut with my Silhouette) and pattern paper.  I used a mix of the cardstock star stickers and wood veneer to sprinkle stars along the staff.  I decided after all my embellishing was done I wanted to make the word BAND stand out more so I used the yellow paint around the edges of each letter.  The word sticker "literally" is from the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet and was a fun addition to the cut title.

My pictures and journaling blocks I set up in Photoshop and printed.  Once attached to my layout I added the check marks to each box and finished with some of the Elle's studio cut aparts and cardstock stickers.

There you have it my layout about my band geek son.  I love that products and embellishments can lead the design of a layout.  How are the embellishments in this months kit inspiring you?

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Come back tomorrow for even more inspiration!

2 months with the Spring Fling Classic Kit

Nicole here on the blog today.  I was going through photos in my pile of "want to scrap" photos and found this one of my cute little niece.  The colors in her cute little outfit were perfect to pair with the kit.

Whenever I get stumped I usually go back through some of my previously made layouts and scraplift myself.  I decided to pull inspiration from a layout I made in January when my picture and embellishments were housed in a heart shape.  I started by cutting a large heart with my Silhouette and used a pencil to trace the outline.

I have a few label stamps and used these to stamp on the quilted pattern paper to bring in different prints and colors.  I also used a tag to cut tag shapes into pattern paper.  I placed these around my creating a visual triangle.

The title is a combination of a number sticker from the Dear Lizzy sticker sheet and a cut from my Silhouette from the orange cardstock.

I used the stamp from the kit with StazOn and stamped the flowers onto vellum.  I used watercolors and after it dried I cut them out and they became delicate flower embellishments.  I placed these along with the Prima flowers on top of another tag I cut from pattern paper and an actual shipping tag from my stash.

Once I had placed my embellishments I measured and printed out my journaling and cut my background cardstock and slide it into place adhering it all together on the back.  To make the outline of my heart stand out I used yellow embroidery floss to hand sew the heart.

As a finishing touch I trimmed the edges and used a pattern paper on the back to tie in my color scheme.  I enjoyed putting together all the little embellishments from the kit onto this layout.  They were the perfect way to record my sweet niece at only two months old.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!  Be sure to head over to the store and snag your Spring Fling kit there are still a few left in the store.

Don't Grow Up - May Spring Fling Daily Diary Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with this week's challenge layout.  This week, we are challenging everyone to document something Spring-y.  Is that a word???  I have these two pictures of my girls, who brought home these GORGEOUS spring photos from school.  I can't even....

I really wanted to use the "Don't Grow Up It's A Trap" piece from the Dear Lizzy Thicker set.  Because really....kids grow up way too fast!  I layered up my photos with some of the neutral 6x6 papers from the kit.

The Jillibean Soup wire words were perfect for this layout since it's about some school pictures.  I used both of them on the layout, one for each kid!  From the 6x6 papers, one of them had a strip of numbers, so I used a small epoxy sticker (not in the kit) and made two little flair badges to signify their ages.

The Elle's Studio ampersand card was the perfect base for the Thicker title and a great place for my journaling as well.  I added some washi and Jillibean Soup puffy stickers to help highlight the photos around the title.

Some more of the Thickers and sequins (not in the kit) helped to finish off the layout.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I can't wait to see how you will take on the challenge this week to scrap something about the spring!!!

New/Old Bike with the Spring Fling Classic Kit

Hello! Nicole here to share my new layout for the week.  This week the design team is using the theme Spring Fling/Carnival/Fair/Amusement Park for inspiration.  After looking through many photos I really couldn't find anything that truly fit so I'm bending the rules a bit.  Spring for me always means the coming of warmer weather and kicking my boys outside to play.

I found these photos taken a few years ago when the little guy got his new/old bike.  They fit the bill and I really liked that the little guys bike and helmet colors worked well with the kit colors.

I started off with the bright yellow cardstock and after placing a few pattern papers around I knew that the white thickers in the kit weren't going to stand out so I decided to paint them with the Lemon Acrylic Paint from the kit.  I placed the stickers on the back of the packaging and painted right over the top.
The acrylic paint has a really thick texture and coated the thickers great.  It needed a little more time to dry than the average acrylic paint, but once dry it didn't peel or flake off the letters.  I also decided to outline my photos in paint.  I used a little heavier paint on my focal photo and lighter on the smaller ones.

I finished off my title with the smaller Pretty Little Studio alphas and a flag from the Dear Lizzy line.

I finished embellishing with a few embellishment clusters.  One in the middle of the photos on the tag.  The bike sticker on the Jillibean Soup sticker sheet fit perfectly on the little tag and I topped it with a heart, phrase, and a wood smiley.

The other little cluster is with the date/journaling.  I started with a few layered stickers and topped it with a paper clip and wood veneer camera.

I really, really love the bright colors in this kit.  Noel always does an amazing job putting together her kits and this one is no exception.  Drop by the shop to get yours today there are still a few left.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!
