Women of Destiny: Vintage Spring Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a last layout using the gorgeous Vintage Spring classic kit for April.  I just loved the Carta Bella floral border paper.  I was just screaming at me to use it.  This week, we are using texture in our projects so I used this as an excuse to use the gold leaf ribbon.

The floral border paper just perfectly laid the foundation for my page.  Since I had two 4x6 photos, I wanted to be sure the florals stood out so I staggered the pictures.  

The Destiny ribbon is a wristband from the event that I saved.  I was happy to find a floral die cut in the kit with a floral pattern to echo the background paper.  I layered up some stickers and some of the Amy Tan felt bows.

For the texture, I used the gold leaf ribbon to help separate the photos.

I mixed the two alphas from the kit for the title and added some layered butterfly stickers and enamel dots.

Victoria Marie: Vintage Spring Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with another layout using the April classic kit.  This woman...who else knows Victoria?  I'm so happy to have been able to meet her and spend some time together at her scrapbook retreat.  

Since I used the neutral background paper, the Thickers were perfect to stand out on top of it.  

For the top, I wanted to add something to help balance it.  I tore a strip of the washi tape in half and added a sticker and some sequins.  The cluster by the journaling helped pull together all of the colors I picked to use.

I loved the bird sticker so I layered it up with a chipboard word.  I used the washi again to ground my photos.

I loved being able to use the chipboard words for "laughter" and "smiles" because I feel like that's all I did with Victoria.  We laughed and smiled the whole time.  She's wonderful!!!

Hello Gorgeous: Vintage Spring Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the classic kit.  This week we were challenged to make a spring inspired project.  I chose to make a layout about this peacock that we saw at the zoo over spring break.  Peacocks are one of my favorites!  They are so beautiful.  I wish he had opened his tail, but he didn't, so I'm happy to scrap these pictures I was able to get.

Most of this layout is made with the Maggie Holmes Flourish line from the kit.  As soon as I saw that peacock sticker, I knew these pictures would make it onto a layout.  

I wanted to let the background paper shine so I kept everything towards the center.  Up in the lefthand corner, I added the fringe banner and popped one of the felt bows on top of it.  

I layered up some of the stickers from the kit and added some sequins.

For the title, I used one of the chipboard stickers along with the black alphabet stickers.  I added another felt bow and used some stickers on top of the large peacock sticker.

I just love the spring feel of this with the colors and being outside in nature.  Please show us how you're using your April kits in the facebook group!

Swans: Vintage Spring Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with my first layout using the April Vintage Spring classic kit.  The sticker with the swans on it called my name and I knew the exact picture I wanted to use.

The GORGEOUS Maggie Holmes Flourish paper jumped out at me since it is teal and black.  Both of those colors are in my photo so it was perfect.  I didn't want to cover much of it up, so I kept the embellishing right around the photo with a little in the upper left corner.

I loved the swan banner in the Flourish embellishment pack and it's perfect since I have two little Swanns...  I used the Maggie Holmes rose gold washi to help ground my cluster along with stickers and enamel dots.

The washi is echoed here as a shelf for my photo.  I used a tag, an Amy Tangerine bow and a flair all from the kit to help around my photo.  The large doily is from my stash.

For my title, I used the Pretty Little Studio alphas above a Maggie Holmes sticker.  Enamel dots helped to finish it off!

Puppy Love with the Happy Days Classic Kit!

Hello Blogger, Lynn here with another layout using this month's "Happy Days" Classic Kit. There are still a few of these awesome kits left in the store. Our challenge this week is Budding Inspiration. We will share what our inspiration is for our pages, whether it is the design of the page or the subject matter. This week I created a 8.5 x 11 layout. My photo is my inspiration. Two weeks ago my Mom completely surprised me with a puppy. I knew she was getting one but I didn't expect that I would get one of her puppy's siblings. I found out on my first day back at work after being out for 8 weeks. These puppies have been a lot of work but even more fun. Here's my page.

I layered strips of papers and then added a 4 x 4 photo of these adorable pups on the top of the layers. I added a little bow tie rub on to the photo. (that's Toby in the front. My girl Lola is behind him) 

I added some stitching to the top strip of paper. The "better together" is from the strip at the bottom of the patterned paper. Included in the classic kit is a Postcard Stamp from Amy Tangerine. I used a portion of it to create journaling lines. I stamped the date below the journaling lines. I finished the page off with a few enamel dots to frame the photo.

Inspired by Photos and the "Happy Days" Classic Kit

It's Meridy here, and this week the design team's goal is to tell you where we got the inspiration for our layouts.  I'm using the "Happy Days" Classic Kit today, and there are a few more of these kits in the store if you haven't got one yet.  

The layout I'm sharing was inspired by the photos my 6 year old took of me and his new baby brother.  I am nursing the baby in the photos, and since that's what I'm doing multiple times a day, it's not a surprise that my oldest son wanted to take pictures of me feeding his baby brother.  When I looked at the photos, I knew that I wanted to briefly tell about excited I am that we overcame some major hurdles in getting him to be able to nurse.  Nursing was not always easy for him, and after a 2 week NICU stay and 3 more weeks of his weight loss, I was overjoyed to be able to follow up with some happy scrapbook layouts!

I started out with 6 photos (2-4x6 and 4-3x4), so I knew I wanted to make a double page layout.  I really liked the XOXOXO patterned paper by Amy Tangerine, so I used that as the base all the way across both sides of the layout.  I added a few more strips of patterned paper and then started piling up the matted photos and scraps of patterned papers to build up the design.  

The thick yellow ribbon worked very well with the color scheme in the layout, so I added a bit on the upper left and some more on the lower right hand side of the layout.  I added my sticker title directly on top of the photo and a journaling card to house my story. 

Finally, I choose embellishments such as some yellow buttons, clips, hand painted wood veneers, and rubber pieces to dress up the photos.  I still felt that I needed a few finishing touches, so I used a notebook paper border punch to punch a few strips of paper and placed those under the embellishment clusters. I finished off the entire layout with Heidi Swapp and October Afternoon mist splatters. 

I'm so glad that my son took these pictures of the baby and I and I'm so glad that I was able to tell the follow up story of the baby's rough start.

Splishin' and a Splashin' with Happy Days Classic Kit

Hello Bloggers. Lynn here with a layout using the Gorgeous "Happy Days" Classic Kit. This month's kit is summery, fresh and there are still a few left!! Grab one quick before they fly out of here! This week the Design Team is using water somewhere on our pages. I have tons of photos of the pool, beach and ocean but this one is so sweet of my niece's daughter at the beach. I used Amy Tangerine's "Better Together" papers and rub ons from the kit for my page. 

I love how fun these papers are - perfect for a summery photo. Here's a few close ups.

I bent the edges of the papers to give my page dimension. I added a few enamel dots here and there. 

The chose the large title so it would stand out from the busy patterned papers. 

I cut a tag and used both pieces. The top of the tag has coordinating rub ons from Amy Tangerine. The bottom of the tag says picture perfect and i tucked that under one of the lower layers - see my first photo. Come join the challenge this week - we'd love to see what you create.

"Happy Days" Classic Kit

Happy Monday!  It's Meridy again, I'm here to share a layout I made with the "Happy Days" Classic Kit. This week the design team is using camera motifs to make 'picture perfect' layouts.  I am passionate about photography, therefore I LOVE all things camera.  The "Happy Days" classic kit has quite a few camera embellishments, so it was perfect for me!

 I started this week's layout by double matting my pink background paper.  I tried to really pull all of the colors from the bright Amy Tangerine patterned paper and get ALL of those colors in my layout. I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink that came in the kit to ink the edges of all of the various layers.

The first camera I used on this layout is a stamped image that I fussy cut and colored with marker.  I decided to mask half of the wood veneer hearts with washi tape, and paint the exposed side with acrylic paint.  It was a very simple touch and I got to use some of the acrylic paints that I have in my stash.  I also added a few splatters of Heidi Swapp Color Shine from a past kit.

For my next camera embellishment, I used one of the tags that came in this month's kit.  I surrounded it with another painted wooden heart, an Amy Tangerine rubber heart, some self adhesive sequins, and one of the Amy Tangerine rub-ons.
