Recreate: She's So Crafty DD Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with this week's layout using the January Daily Diary Kit.  This week, we are challenging everyone to document your crafty hobbies.  Those can be painting, wood carving, basket weaving, cake decorating...whatever it is that you love to do!  For my layout, I'm actually documenting something my daughter loves to do: Paint!  For Christmas this year, we gave her a little art kit where she can recreate famous paintings following a step by step guide.  It also came with a little booklet with information about the artists and the paintings.

The paintings were done on tiny little chipboard canvases.  Once she was done, I asked if I could put them on a scrapbook page for her album and she said yes!  I literally just stuck them down with my ATG gun.  For the background paper, I found this awesome frame print paper from Amy Tangerine (not in the kit).  It just seemed perfect for an art themed layout.

I used a word phrase sticker by each painting along with some epoxy stickers or enamel dots.

I used a die cut from the kit for my journaling and the letter stickers for the title.  I like how the letters stand out even on the busy background.

One of the cut apart sheets from the kit had this heart on it so I cut it out to add here and it was just perfect!

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Please share with us how you are using your kits this month to document your crafty hobbies!

First and Fourth: She's So Crafty DD Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the January Daily Diary Kit.  I wanted to document my daughter's first days of school this past school year.

For the patterned papers, I need to hit my stash because the ones in the kit were a bit too busy for what I was looking for.  I grabbed a couple of Amy Tangerine papers and used them here.

I loved the black and white circle die cut and I used it in two spots to highlight the grades my girls started this year.  I just cut it in half and got more use out of it.

I grabbed a small cut from an Amy Tangerine paper that is a bright green and I loved the words on them.  I also used one of the die cuts from the kit for my journaling.

Some of the epoxy and enamel dots from the kit helped to bring it all together and add a little more detail and attention to those spots.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  We'd love to see how you're using your January kits this month, don't forget to share them in the facebook group!

Lunch with Layla: She's So Crafty DD Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the January Daily Diary Kit.  I went and had lunch with my daughter at school one day and she was just elated about it.  I brought her a Happy Meal from McDonald's and I grabbed a salad for me.  Just having me there and getting to have a special lunch was so fun for her and I loved being able to do it.

I wanted to bring out the blue from the photos by using some patterned paper from Amy Tangerine (not in the kit) and paired it with some bright pink from the kit.  I love how the pink paper compliments the pink in the letter stickers.

I cut out a few little cameras from the 6x6 papers in the kit to use as embellishments.  One of the project life cards had a great sentiment on it, so I tucked it behind the photos.

To play up on the pink, I used the large rose die cut around the picture of me and Layla.  The phrase stickers were just perfect for the photos I had.

I used another project life card for my journaling and I love how the colors just came together.  I sprinkled some enamel dots and sequins around the layout for extra dimension.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  We'd love see how you're using your January kits, don't forget to share them in the FaceBook group!

New Year, New Plans: She's Crafty Daily Diary Kit

Happy New Year everyone!  This is one of my favorite times of the year (even though I loathe the winter weather).  I just love the idea of a fresh start and an excuse to make changes.  This week, the design team is focusing on "New Beginnings" for our projects.  I decided to document my new planner and system I'm using to plan out my time for 2018.  I'm a big planner and I work best when I'm organized and my time is planned out ahead of time.

For my background paper, I used an Amy Tangerine paper (not in the kit) that has sun and clouds on it which I felt was good for a new beginnings theme.  Also, from the same paper pad is the pink striped paper which I used just to add a pop of color and to take up a bit more space on the layout.  From the kit, I layered up three of the 6x6 papers (yellow, cork and floral).

I loved adding all the little details, such as the flair badge, the word stickers and some epoxy and little bits.

For the title, I used the Jillibean Soup alpha stickers and added the 2018 with some Elle's Studio stickers that came in last month's kit.  The word strip stickers from Vicki Boutin are just so cute!

I used a Project Life card from the kit for my journaling.  And one of my favorite Vicki Boutin word strips is the "Do All The Things" sticker that I added right above my photo.  I love it!

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Have you documented your new beginning for this year?  If so, please be sure to share it on the Noel Mignon facebook page so we can see it!
