Santa's Hat: A 12x12 Layout with Mistletoe and Holly Daily Diary.

Good Morning!!  Michelle Zerull here with an easy 12x12 page that I made from the beautiful Mistletoe & Holly Daily Diary Kit.

I love making heritage layouts and it's fun to include a bit of whimsy. The vintage photo was linen and hard to photograph, but Santa's hat looks good on Bobby. Don't you agree?
It was easy to add the hat. I cut it from one of the pocket cards.

Thank you for letting me share with you today.

Golden Delicious Pocket Letter

Hello Everyone!  Michelle Zerull here with a Pocket Letter that I made from the Golden Delicious Daily Diary Kit.

I have had a rough month this month and it seemed as if everything was going wrong. I haven't been feeling well and I found myself becoming sad and melancholy. Then, a few days ago, I walked outside and noticed that the sky was such a beautiful blue. And then I began to look around and I noticed so many wonderful things. My roses were blooming. In November! What a gift! Right then and there I decided to quit looking at the negative things and start focusing on my blessings. That day was the best day that I've had in ages. I felt so wonderfully grateful. And that is what inspired this project.
I love adding bits of vintage ephemera and watercolor touches. And I used up the last bit of the yellow ribbon that I'd been hoarding from a previous kit. I decided to share it instead of hoard it. I love the sunny color!

Thank you for letting me share with you today.
I hope that you have a wonderful day full of blessings.

Daily Diary Diorama

Hello Everyone! Michelle Zerull here with another fun little project that I created with the Golden Delicious Daily Diary Kit.
The gorgeous vintage illustration of the Mother and Daughter stole my heart! I had to use it, but I didn't want it hidden away in a scrapbook. I wanted to put it where I would see it, so I made a mini diorama that I can hang in my craft room.
It wasn't a difficult project and it didn't take very long at all. I used a Sizzix die to make the box, but there are numerous box templates and scoreboards on the market to make boxes of any size. I used the twine so that I could hang it. As I mentioned last week, I love this twine. I had a bit of a panic attack at the thought of running out of it. Luckily, I have plenty left. :)

Thank you for letting me share with you today. I truly loved making this and I can't wait to create even more fun things with this month's Daily Diary Kit

Have a great day!

NoelMignon Daily Diary Pool Party: Vintage Road Trip

Hello! I'm Michelle Zerull. I'm thrilled to be sharing my first project with you as a new NoelMignon Design Team member. This months Daily Diary Pool Party Kit has an abundance of Summer papers and embellishments to create with. Many of the illustrations have a fun, retro vibe, so I created a Pocket Page using my vintage travel photos and ephemera.
I am fond of fussy cutting and enjoyed clipping images and creating unique, new cards. These new inserts could be used with any contemporary photos just as easily as the vintage photographs.
Mixing patterns and creating fun textures gave the cards instant visual interest.

I adore the puffy clouds. They're irresistible!
The various wood grain patterns are gorgeous, too!

I hope that I've inspired you to get out your scissors and create something fun with the July Daily Diary Kit curated by NoelMignon. I'm looking forward to sharing many new ideas and projects in the weeks to come.
Thank you!

Family | Vintage Photos

Who said vintage layouts have to be full of brown and sepia colors? Not me! In fact, the more colorful the better...this is true in all my layouts! Color just makes me happy!

The new Melrose kit is full of color! Here is what I came up with for my first layout using the kit.
When I saw the Maggie Holmes Crate Paper doily patterned paper, I knew I wanted to place a vintage photo in the largest doily and fill the remaining doilies with colorful patterned paper. The sweet vintage photo is my husband's Grandma and Father.

The gold in the kit is a fun addition! I really love what the gold glitter dots and rub-ons added to the layout.

Whether you are scrapping vintage or current photos the Melrose kit is full of new products, great colors, and fun embellishments! Head over to the shop and pick it up before it is gone.

Thanks for visiting the blog today. Have a fabulous week!

Teddy Bear

Hi everyone! I hope your week got off to a great start yesterday. I dug into the Evening Stroll kit over the weekend for my second layout kit. Last week I shared my layout "Baby Doll" that featured a photo of my mom holding her doll when she was little so I thought it would be fun to follow that up this week with a photo of my dad from his childhood holding his stuffed teddy bear.

To add some visual interest and contrast to the repeating pattern in the yellow Studio Calico paper, I cut out some of the centers of the paper and backed it with coordinating papers.
For some dimension I placed the blue Queen & Co. goosebumps in the center of the flowers and then popped up some of the yellow cut outs.
I trimmed my patterned paper with a strip of blue paper and scalloped tissue paper.
For my title, I used various embellishments and stickers along with the Prima label stamp and ink. The journaling is included on the "noted" die-cut and tucked under the photo.

All supplies for this layout are from the Evening Stroll kit except for the blue mist, which is from the Boardwalk kit. I hope you are enjoying the super versatile Evening Stroll kit as much as I am. Make sure to share your layouts with us on the message board.

One last thing before I go...don't forget about the Back to School crop next week. Start gathering your photos now. It's going to be lots of fun!

Baby Doll

Hello everyone! Thanks for coming by today, I'm excited to be sharing a layout with the Evening Stroll kit. When my box of fun arrived at my house and I saw all the papers and embellishments up close and personal I knew this was the perfect kit for some of the vintage photos I had printed and waiting for the right mix of products.

For my first layout, I decided to use a photo of my Mom when she was a little girl holding her baby doll. The Basic Grey Clippings paper is gorgeous and I like how the layered effect at the top of the paper is a great beginning for any layout. I carried the layered look over to my photo, surrounding it with papers and embellishments in coordinating colors and prints.

I used a piece of vellum for my journaling and stitched it vellum down with my sewing machine. Not only did it mimic the stitching in the printed paper but it allowed me to attach it to the page without any tape showing through.

To soften the layered papers under my photo, I inked the edges with the blue chalk ink included in the kit. I stitched some of the layers down and added flowers, brads and stickers around the photo.

I'm so happy to have this sweet photo of my Mom finally scrapped and am anxious to create some more vintage layouts. If you have some heritage photos, I encourage you to get them out and use them with this kit! Noel has put together the perfect combination of colors, papers and embellishments in the Evening Stroll kit for some vintage lovin'!

Enjoy the rest of the week and I'll see you back here next Tuesday!
