{Christmas Eve Traditions} with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Happy Day After Christmas!  I hope you are all relaxing and enjoying your family and gifts.  Hopefully you got some scrappy gifts!  I'm sharing a layout of our Christmas Eve traditions, using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit...

I enjoyed creating this title space with the various alpha stickers, stamps, and the "santa's coming" label sticker from the kit.

I had lots of pictures to use on this layout and 3 different traditions that I wanted to document.  So I decided to use the red glitter Thickers that came in this month's kit to number the different traditions, then describe them in the journaling space on the right hand side of the layout.

I used various embellishments to fill in areas around the photos with small clusters for a little added interest.  I also used some branding strips to ground the bottom of the page.

I finished off the layout with the red Studio Calico color mist spray from the kit sprinkled with a few of the gold Heidi Swapp sequins.  Thank you for stopping by today!!!  I would love to see some of your creations with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit over at our Noel Mignon members FB page.

Fall Favourites & Daily Diary Kit

Hello everyone!  It's Lindsay here, with some more Daily Diary inspiration from the November kit.  This week we were challenged to document our "Fall Favourites".  I found this layout so fun to do...especially since this week we also received our first official snow fall of the year, so it was a nice way to go back in time to those glorious fall days!

I created my pocket page spread using my favourite Simple Stories 6x8 pocket page protectors.  I love the little pockets, and Noel Mignon's Daily Diary kits always come with the cutest 2x2 cards.  It's truly a win win!

One little fun thing I did with this layout was utilize my pockets to add a title.  These "FALL" cards provided me with the best title.  And again, so easy as they just slipped right into the pockets.  This is just a simple fun way to include titles into your pockets, simply!

I loved how this kit also came with so many captioned cards.  That made documenting my fall favourites even easier.  My photos really served to "embellish" the cards.  Definitely a great time saver as well.

On this page however, the "hello autumn" card was actually originally a 4x4.  So I simply trimmed the card into 4 2x2 squares.  I really like how this turned out.  I added a bit of extra stickers to the card as well as a strip of washi in the top left corner.  Isn't washi the best?

I also love adding elements on top of my page protectors.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the 'happy fall y'all' and the 'good eats' are actually placed on top of my pockets using glue dots.  Just a simple and fun way to play with texture and add a bit of dimension.

I always have so much fun playing with these kits and this month is no exception.  Always SO much great stuff to play with.  See you next week with another great challenge!

Pure Joy-"Show & Tell Classic Kit"

Hello! Thank you for visiting the Noel Mignon Blog today!  I'm sharing my latest layout using the "Show & Tell" Classic Kit. This week you will be going "Back to School" with the Design Team as we share a few of our favorite techniques with you.

My first "technique" has to do with photography.  I love when I am lucky enough to capture a split second of emotion in my photos---so I couldn't wait to scrapbook this photo of my son getting ready to walk out the door on his very first day of school ever.  He was so excited and his backpack was so heavy he was trying to put it on without picking it up.

One way to capture emotion in a photograph, is to be patient and sit back (ready with your camera in hand) and wait.  With kiddos, you can't "stage" their emotion, so you have to sit back and wait for it to happen---and eventually, it will.

The other techniques on this layout all have a similar theme--utilizing scraps.

I adore so many pattern papers in this kit that I was down to a few strips and scraps that matched the colors in this photo.  I really wanted those patterns on this layout, therefore, I decided to put those scraps to work for me.

I used some of the scraps in strips to create the an interesting background for the layout.  This was rally simple to do.  They were already in thin strips, so I cut them to various lengths, inked the edges, and placed them on the layout.

I used one of the scraps and fussy cut 4 flash cards from the pattern to use as embellishments.

And finally I used a 1" circle punch to cut a clock from another scrap.  Then I covered the circle with a 1" adhesive epoxy circle, creating my own little DIY flair embellishment.

I hope that I inspired you to try capturing even more emotion in your upcoming photographs, after all, the photographs and stories are the reason we scrapbook!  I also hope you are inspired to use up some scraps on your next layout---it makes your Noel Mignon kit last even longer!

journey of a mini album with september's daily diary kit.

This month, I fell so in LOVE with the Daily Dairy kit.  I know, they are all fabulous and jam packed with absolute gorgeous product.  When I opened my kit I literally was in awe over every single piece.  So, when I was deciding what to create with this kit I knew I wanted a project to showcase all of the incredible pieces.  So I chose to use this months kit to create a super fun 6x8 mini album! Today I want to share the first few pages with you all.

I created my opening page with some of the gorgeous cards that come with the kit.  The 12x12 Crate Paper has so many fun cut outs and cards.  It really is amazing how much you can get out of one sheet of paper.  I chose 2 cards ('hello' and 'be brave') and then added some fun instax photos, stickers and matted my photos with the gorgeous foiled arrow paper from My Minds Eye. It's such a gorgeous collection!  I love the hot pink word strip stickers from Studio Calico that came with this kit.  They are the best! I am obsessed and want to put them on everything.

Awesome phrases, super fun colour and there are a ton to use!  I also embellished with the super adorable puffy stickers that come with the kit as well. I love them...and actually just want to hoard them! Ha!

This page came together in no time at all.  I love how the kit contents work so beautifully together.  The touches of gold foil, just make my heart happy!

On my next page, I added more photos and then used some of the pattern papers to create my own 3x4 cards.  I love the 6x6 pattern papers that are included in the Daily Diary kits because they are perfect for this reason.  So easy to trim down and add in 3x4 cards where needed.

I even added some layers and machine stitching to one card, and a simple sticker to the other.

This "3" card is actually from the Studio Calico word sticker packaging.  I love it and had to include it in my album with some journaling.  It was too perfect, and who doesn't love to use every little bit of stuff that they can when compiling a mini album?  The super cute 'cherish' Heidi Swapp fabric tab could not be left out so I attached it with my tiny attacher to the top of the card.  Added some journaling and voila! Custom page.

To cover the back of the card I just adhered some gorgeous pattern paper from the kit.

My last page that I am sharing is this really fun grid pocket page.  First, I adore the 2x2 size and it really is such a fabulous addition to my mini.  Not only can I add in a ton of photos, but I can also add in tons of bits of pattern paper to really make it pop.  I love the options here and it is such a great way to also use off cuts and scraps from the kits.

I love all the enamel stickers/dots that were included in this months kit.  They are so fun to add as embellishments and give just the perfect dimension in projects and on pages.

I hope you have enjoyed this first little sneak peek inside look into my mini album using the September Daily Diary kit.  I cannot wait to share more pages with you in the next couple of weeks.  It will be amazing to see just how much one kit can create.  Noel Mignon kits are seriously the best. :)

Third Grade Classroom- "Show and Tell" Classic Kit

I'm here today with a double page layout using the "Show and Tell" Classic Kit.  This kit is one of my favorites so far and I want to use up every last little bit of it!!!  The first layout I made with it is a traditional school layout of my daughter's first day of 3rd Grade.

I am excited about all of the little bits and pieces and embellishments that came in this kit, it made it so easy to put together the embellishment clusters on this layout. I think the Evalicious Photo Shoot 2 puffy stickers are my favorite pack of embellishments this month!

The giant paper clips and gold stars fit so nicely with the "show and tell" theme of the kit.  I HAD to use a few of them right away on this layout.

For some reason, my kids new shoes for Back to School are one of my favorite things to document each year.  I don't know if it's because I always got a pair of "school shoes" when I was a kid, or what, but I always photograph my kids new shoes on the first day of school.  I decided to journal right on the photograph on this layout.

I also try to take a picture of the overall classroom each year.  I used to get so caught up in cropping in really tight when taking photos, that I have made a real effort for the past year to back up and get a little more of the surroundings in my photos every so often---I think it helps to tell a better story in my albums.

Thank you for joining me today, I wish all of you a happy "Back to School" season---have fun scrapbooking those photos with the Noel Mignon "Show and Tell" kit!!!  Share your layouts on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook Page--I would love to see them!

4x4 Pockets & Daily Diary

Welcome back everyone! Wow...I cannot believe August will soon be over and this is my last official pocket page for August to share.  This month sure did whizz by.  I hope your month was filled with many memories and moments so you will have tons of photos to scrapbook with this incredible kit! ;)

I always let my Noel Mignon Daily Diary kits take the lead when I am creating.  By this, I mean I usually allow the products to guide the types and styles of pages I am going to create with the kit.  This month, I noticed a lot of the products were really fun and different square sizes of products.  There were fabulous little 2x2 die cuts, awesome 3x4 cards and these really cool 4x4 die cut frames.  They all inspired me to create something different with the kit, yet I ended up with all pocket pages...just very unique from one another.  I love when that happens! :)

So for this layout, I allowed myself to be inspired and drawn to creating a 12x12 pocket page, with 4x4 squares.  The gorgeous die cut frames were my total inspiration for this page.  I love the size, the style, the colours and how cute they adorn my photos.  They are truly the funnest overlays and really make your photos pop!

I hate wasting product, so I am always looking for alternate ways to use up remainders of my kit and stash.  So because I did not have enough of certain papers to fill the large 4x4 pockets I simply created these fun triangles and alternated patterned paper.  I then used my Fuse tool to secure them in the page nicely.  The 'hello' card was actually a 4x6 which I trimmed down accordingly.  I then used the awesome Project Life alpha stickers to add the 'sunshine' below.  I love how alphas can be used to customize cards for whatever layout one is doing.  This kit came with so many alphas, I loved it!

In keeping with using up my stash, I created the "days like this are the best" card by simply trimming down a 3x4 card and adhering it on top of a 4x4 card.  The centre card, with all of the word strips I love!  I simply took these wonderful strips, and using my sewing machine stitched them onto just a white piece of 4x4 card stock.  The super cute camera clip I clipped onto the top.  I just loved this piece from the kit!

I added my journaling this month directly onto a 4x4 card that I initially trimmed down from a 4x6.  I knew I wanted to add in my thoughts onto the pennant so I made sure to trim so that I would have enough room, yet fit my pocket.  I simply jotted down my thoughts and I love how it all turned out and helped to complete my page.

I hope that I have inspired you to get out the remainder of your August kits and use up that stash!  These kits go such a long way and there is always a way to make something work for you when you need it!  Happy creating everyone...I am ready for September's phenomenal kit, aren't you?

August Challenge #3

In case you didn't already know---Noel is giving away an August "Country Life" Daily Diary Kit at the end of the month!!!!

"Country Life" Daily Diary Kit

All you have to do to be entered in the drawing is complete all 6 design team challenges from this week by August 30, 2015.

Please post your layouts into the correct albums on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook page, found here.

You do not need to use a Noel Mignon kit for these challenges---so if you have never purchased one, now is your chance to win one!!! And if you have purchased one, you know how awesome the Daily Diary Kits are.

My challenge is to dig into those unused stamp sets (you know you have a few laying around) and use them on a layout.  You can upload your entry for the Stamping Challenge into this album.

I love stamps, but sometimes I forget about them.  So I decided to pull a set out and use it on this layout of my son making wishes on dandelions...

I used the August 2015 "Country Life" Classic Kit for this layout.  I have already created quite a few layouts with this month's kit, and wanted to use up some of those leftover scraps on this one.

I really enjoyed creating a custom journaling block for this layout using stamps.  I decided to stamp right off the paper on this one--I find that adds a little interest. Which is why I also chose to hide parts of the stamped images under the papers and photos.

The adorable Pretty Little Studio "Marigold" word flags made great additions to many of the layouts I created with the "Country Life" Classic Kit.  One reason I enjoy getting Noel Mignon Kits so much, is because I get to try new products, that I wouldn't even have know existed---like these little word flags.

The right half of my layout is fairly simple---I repeated the papers, stamped images, and word flags on this side in order to unify both sides.

I absolutely love the Shimelle wood buttons in this month's kit.  I think they are my very favorite embellishment this time around.  I like to add them into embellishment clusters like the one pictured above.

Don't forget to do all 6 challenges from this week for your chance to win a "Country Life" Daily Diary Kit.

Add your entry for today's Stamp Challenge to this album on Facebook.  Thanks for joining us!!!
