Fabulous Friends

Since I didn't get the Mary Ellen kit I find myself really digging in and using a ton of the past few kits... they are work together so very well! I used mostly Jump and Jive for this but mixed in Delightfully Domestic too... love that about the Noel Mignon kits!! :)

I love how this one really came together very easy... I have had these pictures sitting on my desk it seems forever... I saw the music sheet in the kit and just starting laying stuff out and before I knew it the layout was done... gotta love when that happens!! I snuck in some quick facts about the pictures and called it done... I really like the results too! :)

Jump over to the message board... I have a challenge going on using this layout... hop over there to find out what it is! :)

Nightly...

I wanted to do a layout about Madison's nightly conversations...each night she curls up and talks on the phone with her boyfriend... it's nice that in the day of texting they still take the time to actually talk on the phone... :)

I used all Jump and Jive kit for this:
with all the cool tags and embellishments in the Noel kits I have a hard time not wanting to use them all on one layout... lol... so instead I just do mini little collages... I love how they all group together and help to balance out the photos on the right. Here's a close up of the collage...

Hula Hoop

I got my Jump and Jive kit in but I can't seem to put away my Delightfully Domestic kit just yet! I loved this kit and still have so many more layouts I can do with it! eeeekk... I know me.. if I put it away the kits keep coming and I won't do all the layouts I had intended with the said kit.... hahah! anyone else do that?

Here is another layout I did with the Delightfully Domestic kit.... Our challenge this week was to lift a board member and I chose my MOM Debbie Standard (dstandard).... here is her awesome page...
and then here is my lift... with a few close ups.. using the Delightfully Domestic kit!

The little tag pulls out for journaling...

I don't generally lift well, I like to pick out elements that I like on a page and go from there. In this case it's the grouping of the three photos and the little collage up in the left hand corner....
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to join us for our new challenge!!

Cards!

Here are a couple cards I did a few weeks ago for the Tool Challenge...I chose a hole puncher (I used the WRMK Big Bite)...

First up I punched holes in the center of each of the circles from the patterned paper and then used red cardstock behind it to sort of give it an accent color... I used the Very Virginia kit...

For the second card I used my hole puncher as my main design and shaped it as a heart and backed it with patterned paper and then added a simple sentiment and the card was finished! I used the Truly Scrumptious kit...

Sharing some goodies!

Hi all!
We have been totally under the weather here in the Moreno household...the flu and the stomach bug pretty much kicked our booties and we have been down for awhile!! (Hence the reason no Monday posts from me... thanks Gretchen for carrying Mondays by yourself!!)

anywho..
I have been dying to jump into this Truly Scrumptious kit... I LOVE IT!!! (sold out!)
Here is a layout I did of my daughter and her boyfriend, they just celebrated a year of dating! (holy cow... it's hard to believe my baby girl is actually liking boys... shouldn't she still be playing with dolls?) lol
I just wanted to do a layout documenting this special day for my sweet daughter and her boy.

and a few close ups...

and then I made a quick card using one of the 'cards' on the patterned paper....

Here is a layout I didn't get a chance to share that I did using the Bedford Falls kit...

and a close up...

BFFL!

If you don't have a teenager in the house this may be a foreign language.... around here it's everyday talk! LOL Anywho.. I love these pictures of Madison and her best friend Alexis I caught one day of them afterschool just being their silly selves. Aren't they too cute?! :)

I did this layout for the current Noel Mignon Challenge... we were challenged to use a certain color pallete (what fun!!)... head over to the Challenge Blog for colors and to play along!

Here is my take on the challenge! Everything from the Very Virginia kit!

and a close up...
FUN TIP: the tag shown in the close up is what the ribbon from the kit came on... I just trimmed it up and used it on my layout! :)

by the way... BFFL = Best Friends For Life  ;)

Comfort Zone? What Comfort Zone?

Well the Very Virginia kit I have said would be the type of kit to push me out of my comfort zone... well it DID!!

I found myself at first looking at the masking tape and the mist thinking "I should be doing something creative with this..."
so I taped a frame around the edge of my photos and misted away!
yes I know that this isn't an over the top technique... but for me... this is out of the box baby!! haha!
And the stamps... I didn't put too much "think" into it and just stamped away randomly just under my title and added a few on and around the chipboard heart (another out of the box)... anywho.. I'm proud as a peacock that I challenged myself to try something different... and I LOVE the results!!

(confession time..... this is the first time I have every used mist before... and I have a good handful of bottles collected already)....eek! I think I may be hooked though... :)

A Kiss... or Two!

I just love all these little photos of my older three.... all I wanted was a picture of the older boys giving Madison a kiss on the cheek (I had just got a real cute shot of Matthew kissing Kenna and wanted to try it with the older ones too)....
yeah, not so much!

What happened after the request is THIS...

I really wanted to include all the outtakes of these pictures so I printed them in photo strips, I love the way this turned out and loved even more including a total of TEN pictures on this one page layout! wahooo! :)

Here's a quick little card I whipped up using the Bedford Falls kit too..
Everything from the Bedford Falls Noel Mignon kit!!

I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas, god bless!

Under the Red Shirts...

I had taken the kids outside to take a quick Christmas photo and told them all to grab a red shirt and put it on...
This picture has been one of my favorites since I took it... your probably thinking really? a picture of their feet...ummm ok Kim... but to me, this picture really tells so much about their personality at the moment I took the picture.

From left to right... Mitchell all put together with jeans and tennis shoes, Madison with her sofee shorts, long socks and her Crocs. Matthew with jeans and his shoes slipped on and untied. Morgan in his baggy basketball shorts, calf socks and untied shoes. and Makenna with her jeans and 'thrown on found them on the way out the door' flip flops.

Next time look beyond the obvious when taking a picture! :)

Once again this was put together using the oh so fabulous Bedford Falls Noel Mignon kit! Jump over and grab one if there are any left!!
and a close up....

Hi everyone, Kim Moreno here! I'm so happy to be back for another term on this fabulous design team!!

Head over to the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog to see the other girls take on this challenge.. ALSO... Noel has  HUGE giveaway as well!! Go check it out!! :)

Have a great day!

Using my Stash!

I don't know about you but I always seem to have TONS of goodies left from my Noel Mignon kits... or I will get a new kit in before I have a chance to use up the last one.
We were challenged with the video here to do a page and I pulled from a few older kits to create this layout about my mom.

Scraplift!

When I saw this awesome layout in the gallery by Lacintha I knew I wanted to lift it! I love the way she created movement with her photos and embellishments!

Here is my "lift"... and I use that term loosely...I have never been very good at lifting, they always turn out way off! lol
I gathered the photos similiar to Laci's and then the patterned paper is heavy across the bottom like her layout.. the banner up top is to resemble her lines across the top of her layout!

Photo Prompt

I don't often scrap 'heritage' like pictures (wait... I don't mean heritage, this is me as a baby... and I'm not in the 'heritage' catergory yet darn it)... anywho...

I don't scrap many *ahem* older pictures often but when I do I often find that the colors are hard to scrap with or the pictures just don't print like I want them to after scanning them.
I found this old baby picture of me and wanted to scrap it for the "Me, Myself, and I" challenge and so I chose to turn the picture into a "mocha" color... I now LOVE the way it printed and the colors are perfect to use with the beautiful "Sonoma Country" (sold out) kit!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! :)
Don't forget the new kit "Lemonade Stand" goes up for sale on the 15th!! Check out the forum here for sneek peaks... here's a quick one to start the drooling! lol

Ad Challenge!

Last month we were challenged to use this ad/colorboard in a challenge and I decided to take it a step further and use it for my ad challenge today!
There is so much to gather from this colorboard... first off the (well duh) beautiful color scheme and then I just love the way it's arranged and I chose to follow both the color scheme and arrangement for my layout below!
I used the "Object of my Affection" kit:

Title Tip

When I went to do my title I realized I didn't have enough letters to spell out 'Valentine'. Instead I decided to abbreviate the word and use a symbol. This is also a great way to shorten a title to fit a space.

Replacing letters with objects and abbreviating titles are fun ways to add interest to your pages.

This is just one way to spice up your page, the design team each month will give you different ideas and fun ways to add interest to your projects!!
