Spring Cleaning!

The Spring Fling Crop on our FB page has been so much fun this week- and full of lots of great inspiration! Make sure to stop by (and you still have the weekend to participate in all the wonderful challenges).

Friday's Challenge is - Do a little Spring Cleaning!

I don't know about you, but every month I

save things from my kits that I want

"to use later."

And then I forget about them!

Today's challenge is about digging up those

old treasures and putting them to use.

Use

items from at least THREE old NM kits!

(If you don't have any old NM kits, then three older

items). I can't wait to see yours!

This layout uses items from at least 5 different kits, and probably a few more! :) It feels good to use up some of those things in my stash!

Jenni Bowlin Stencil Lettering Guide Die Cut Paper

I'm professing my love for the The Jenni Bowlin Stencil Lettering die cut paper in the Student Council kit! I can't believe it took me until the end of October to cut into it 1) because I've had the idea for this title since I first opened the kit and 2) it is so versatile and I should have been using it on every layout!

To create my title I simply cut out the letters I needed for my title and backed each letter with patterned paper...

Just think of all the different looks you can get with different patterned paper behind the stencil. So versatile!

The kraft strip along the top was also from the die cut paper. I used the punched holes as a guide for threading some twine through and tying it off with a bow.

Here are a few close-ups:

Growing up, I read all.the.time! As I got older and the kids came along my reading time was limited. Any spare time I had was spent scrapbooking! :) It has been kind of fun picking it up again and I had a lot of fun creating this layout showing not only my love of reading, but my son's too!

Thanks for coming by, have a great week!

Happiness Is......

...in a jeep!

No really, it is. Well to me and my husband anyway...ha! We love to just get in our jeep & go on any and all adventures. Mainly to antique stores. Just walking through & seeing all the history...
it's one of our favorite things to do.

I've highlighted that in my layout I did for today:

I combined the Student Council kit with the Evening Stroll kit to get just the
perfect embellishments & look I was going for.
Which was a whimsical, shabby, eclectic, messy, yet still a clean look.
I'm really happy with how it turned out!

If you have an iPhone, you should get the app called Instagram.
You can load photo's & share with friends as well as on Facebook, Twitter, email, etc...
you can edit photo's there too! it's a FUN app.
I made my grid using Insta Pic Frame app, edited the photo's there and loaded them
on Instgram.
From there, I used the app called Postal Pix to order my Instagram photo's.
You can print any size! The big square is a grid that I made into a 5" x 5".
The newest size they have it 2" x 2".
The 3 photo's on a strip at the top are the new 2x2 size. I'm in love.
I'll definitely be printing more!

Anyway..
I hope you enjoy my post today.
Here's a couple of close up detail shots:

have a great Monday!
thanks for stopping by today.

Please Call

One of my best friends moved to Alaska this week, which, from Alabama, feels like pretty much the other side of the world.

One of our friends caught this picture of us at the airport, with our eyes full of tears. It is the most sad and sweet photo and I definitely wanted to scrap it!

(made with the Student Council kit!)

I made these little pictures for her family's going away party, using my Silhouette machine:

I was left with the negative space vinyl pieces, and wanted to use them as a stencil for this page, so I pulled out the Heidi Swapp Shine spray from the kit and went to spraying!

I LOVE how sparkly and opaque this mist is!

Noel has a ton of new colors from the Shine line- you should go check them out in the shop and add a few to your order... I promise, you will love this mist!

Little School Days

Not only do I like to document my bigs' days at school, but I also like to include the little girls' "school"- their Mom's Day Out they attend. They feel like such big kids there and it's a big part of our life, so it definitely is included in our albums.

Our sweet teachers last year took a little "class picture" of my 2 year old's class. It totally cracked me up because while there were *big personalities* in her class last year, you would never know from their blank stares. Hee! My daughter in particular looks OVER having her picture made. Ahh... two year olds. ;)

I used the lovely Student Council kit (sold out, but you can pick up a limited edition version here!). Noel tucked in a few little note sheets in the kit that were a perfect journaling spot for this layout. And the number 2 paper clip corresponds perfectly with Ariana's age!

Still waiting on getting your kit subscription? Don't wait any longer! The sub spots are 80% filled and won't be around much longer! Click here to check out the details!

File this under ADORABLE!

Hi everyone! I'm back with another layout using the October Student Council kit! Although it is school themed, I've made two layouts with it now that are not school related at all! I love the versatility of this kit! Seriously, love!

I decided to use all that adorable Lawn Fawn paper and stickers, along with a few October Afternoon pieces in the kit. Here is what I did:

The title was inspired by the catalog file paper. The "File this under" was stamped using a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set I had in my stash!

Here are a few close-ups.

I used the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz for some splatters again. LOVE this mist...the shimmer is fabulous! There are some additional colors of the Color Shine Spritz in the shop. The yellow and grey would be fabulous with the Mint Green that was included in the Student Council kit.

If you missed out on the Student Council kit, swing by the shop and pick-up the Limited Edition Student Council kit, which looks equally as fun! Make sure you don't miss another kit, and sign up for a subscription. The kits are such a great value and have everything you need to make 10-15 layouts. You definitely get a bang for your buck!

Thanks for coming by. Have a great week!

My College Kids

Good Monday morning, friends!

Did this weekend fly by or WHAT! I blinked and ::poof:: it's Monday.

Today I'm stopping by to share another layout I made using
October's Student Council kit. I really hate to say that this kit has already sold out,
but it's just your luck that there's a limited edition one right here:  Student Council Limited

Here's  -  My College Kids:

I love the versatality of this kit. It's perfect for any school age.
Preschool, Elementary - heck, even college!

These are just a couple of shots of my kids from the summer before they both headed
back to their colleges.  I just can't even believe they're both college kids!

I had alot of fun putting all the final details on this project.

The twine that comes in the kit are some of my FAVORITE colors to scrap with
right now. I just love that touch of gray.  I also love the oh so CUTE Lawn Fawn
school stickers. How CUTE are those apples??

I can't get ENOUGH of the Heidi Swapp Mint Green mist that Noel includes in the kit.
It's so shiny & sparkly! Perfect for just a touch of color where you want it.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!
I hope your day is wonderful!
Have a great creative week,
~Leslie

First Day of School

I finally got a chance to pull out the wonderful Student Council kit and got the first day of school pictures of my two bigs that I've been saving to use with it!

(The Student Council kit is sold out, BUT there is a Student Council Limited Edition up for grabs!)

This was the first time I've gotten to use the MME acrylic dots, and boy do I love them! I really like how they fit right in with a splattering of mist and big brads!

Also, a small tip for other "literal" scrappers like myself... for some reason, I have a hard time using things like speech bubbles if it's not coming out of someone's mouth (hence why I call myself a "literal" scrapper), so I just snipped off the tip of the "school days" wooden speech bubble and used it as a regular ol' embellishment. Perfect! (I also have a hard time using animals like deer on my pages unless it has some connection to the theme of my layout. Weird much? Yes.)

And now you know another little peek inside of my crazy brain. Please still be my friend. ;) heheh

My Tongue Wagging Boy

The October Student Council kit is fabulous. I hope you were able to get your hands on one before it sold out. I used it to showcase this old photo of my son back in his tongue wagging days! :) This was the face he made when he was concentrating really hard!
I really love the mix of muted and bright colored papers and embellishments in the kit...it all coordinates so well together.

The Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist that is included in the kit is gorgeous! If you missed my post last week full of tips and tricks for using mist you can read all about it, right here!

Here are a couple close-ups:

Have fun digging into your kit! I look forward to seeing your layouts!

*Go Getter*

Happy Monday Morning, everyone!

Have you gotten your hands on the October Student Council kit? I sure hope so, it looks
like it's already sold out! WOW!
It's such a fantastic kit!
What I love about it is it can work for anyone from kindergarten all the way to college & beyond.

I got mine out this weekend and dove right in:

Go Getter:

I used my son's SR. photo taken by a great photographer friend of mine (Andie Smith)
This kit really captured the colors from his photo well!
AND that Heidi Swapp mist....yum.

I plan to use some college shots for my next few projects.

Details:

Hope you get to dive in and play with your kit this week!
Thanks for letting me share my little bit of inspiration with you today.

Make it a GREAT week!
