{First Colors} Layout with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit

It's Monday and that means it's Meridy here, thanks for stopping by!  I want to share another layout I made with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit.  There were lots of vibrant colors in this month's kit and some really cool patterned papers, I decided to use this "color wheel" type of paper for a layout about my baby's first box of colors.

As soon as I pulled this paper to work with, I knew I wanted to use the circle shape as a major design element for the layout.  First, I matted and placed my photos on the bottom right of the paper, then I fussy cut a  couple of the paint swatches from another paper.  Next, I punched a bunch of 2 different size hexagons and sprinkled them around the circle to fill in the blank spaces.

Finally, I got the puffy stickers out and sprinkled them around as well.  I decided to add a small cluster of these embellishments in some of the "white space" on the photos as  well, to visually bring the circle around.

I decided the layout looked a little bare, so I added some of the acrylic words to read "Little You", and the "I Love" flair button.  But the layout still looked a little disconnected.  So I decided to hand stitch in white embroidery floss around where the white circle I covered up on the patterned background was.  This finished the embellishments off.

Last, it was time to add my title & journaling, again along the arch of the circle.  And with that, the layout was finally complete.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I would love to see how you used this piece of patterend paper from the kit this month.  Share your layouts on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page or on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great day!!!

Camping Trip using Let's Get Lost Daily Diary

Have you checked out the kits for this month?!  I was so excited as soon as I saw them that I chose to grab both the daily diary and classic and get some of my travel/camping photos scrapped. I will be sticking mostly to my daily dairy kit, but will more than likely intermingle a bit of the classic as the month goes on :)

This layout uses only the daily diary kit except the background cardstock which is from the classic kit.  This layout will serve as a title page of sorts since I plan to scrap the rest of our camping trip project life style.

The pattern paper is a few of the 6x6 papers and a 4x6 card.  I decided to play with circles and used a compass to draw circles in pencil and then cut them out.  I layered them behind my photos and then added the last green circle to a few die cuts over the bottom of the larger photo.

I  finished off my layout by placing enamel dots and chipboard stars in a visual triangle around my layout.  The center of the paper flower was pretty bulky so I replaced it with another enamel dot.

Thanks for stopping by the blog.  Come back tomorrow for more inspiration using the Let's Get Lost kits.

It's a Magical Week with "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit

Hello, Lynn here with my latest layout using the "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is "Magical". Simply use "magical" as the inspiration for your project. The first thing that came to mind was Disney. I haven't been to Disney in a seriously LONG time but I went through some photos and came across this gem. I went to an ultrasound conference in 2000 and stayed in a resort hotel within walking distance to Epcot. The conference was half days only so we could have fun as well. Here's my layout.

I decided to use circles for my background to compliment the photo of Epcot. I used a variety of Lawn Fawn's Large and Small Stitched Circle Stackables Dies. I love the detail of stitched edges. The strips of green on the sides of my page are pieces of washi tape included in this month's kit.
Here's a close up of the circles.

I added some vellum stars scattered across the layout - I used vellum so the stars would be subtle and not take away from the photo or the bright circles.
Thanks for stopping by today. Give our challenge a try - I'm sure you'll create something magical!!

Shape up for Summer..."Pure Bliss" Classic Kit

Hello!  It's  Meridy here, with a 2 page layout to share with you today.  As a design team, we are 'Shaping up for Summer' by creating layouts with a repeating shape in them this week.  I'm working with the "Pure Bliss" Classic Kit today.  I choose to work with circles

I started my layout using patterned paper with a circle motif across the bottom of the layout.  After I added my photos and patterned paper across the top of my layout, I pulled in a circular journaling block and popped it up on pop dots, creating a little dimension on my layout.

As I searched through the embellishments in this kit, I found plenty of other circle elements to add.  I started with the faux sequins, then a few buttons.  Next, I grabbed 2 of the printed wood veneers, flipped them over to the blank side, masked them off with washi tape and painted a portion of them.  After the paint dried, I removed the washi mask and had a totally different looking embellishment!

I added a few of the Queen and Company pink glitter dots, to give the layout a little sparkle.  Finally, I added small dollops of Stickles from the kit to tie all of the circle embellishments together.  This "rounds" out my layout, and I feel that it is complete!

Thank you for joining me today, check back all week to see how the rest of the Design Team is 'Shaping up for Summer'!!!!
