Someday....

Hello my crafty friends!! I have a fun layout to share with you today using a mix of scraps and leftovers from some of the past few kits! I have been challenging myself to kill as much of my leftover kits as I can, so this was a fun layout to use of some of those leftover scraps. I only used one full 12x12 sheet of paper on this one!

I've been in a bit of a creative slump lately, so for this layout, I thought it would be fun to do two things! First, I did not use my trimmer once, everything is cut by hand ( so if it looks crooked, that's probably because it is! lol)! Second, I used this but down piece of white cardstock as my base. I created my layout completely on it, and then matted it on the larger 12x12 piece.

I found that kinda stepping away from my normal scrapping "procedure" made for a fun layout!  Here are a few close ups for you:

Goodbye to Fall and Hello to Christmas

Hi everyone!  Today I've got TWO projects to share with you :D  I have one last fall layout using the Gather Together kit and a mini album I used for a tutorial on Shimelle's blog that uses Noel Mignon December kits from Christmas past :)  I'll start with the layout, it uses lots of the embellishments as well as the gorgeous navy mist from Heidi Swapp included in the kit.  While I was making this layout I realized that I was out of 3D foam dots, and that the leftover empty foam circles would make a pretty cool mask for misting, so of course I had to test it out.  I just trimmed the leftover packaging into strips, laid them on my patterned paper, and got to spraying!

This is the result:

Pretty neat huh? I didn't want it to be perfect but I still wanted a border, so using these pieces of "garbage" as a template gave me the exact look I was going for :)  Gotta love recycling, am I right?

The second project is an Elf of the Shelf mini album.  I like the Elf of the Shelf album idea instead of a December Daily type project for me because quite honestly, we don't get out to do all that much in December! But these themed photos look great kept together in an album so it was a perfect was to make a Christmas album without it having to be big and complicated.

Happy, Say What?

Happy day after Thanksgiving!!!  I have one more Gather Together project to share before I dive into that adorable December Ribbon Candy kit :)  This layout is of my youngest son & his cousin - who have the funniest relationship.  One minute they are hugging & friends, the next they can't even be in the same room together :)  Hence the title - "Happy, Say What?".  Here the two were taking a hayride together, and neither look too excited about it :)  Kiddos are so silly!!

Here is a close-up of the stamping I did.  I used the heart speech bubble stamp from the kit, along with some SEI chalk ink in steel.  I like the subtle effect it had against the white cardstock.  I also added some small heart stickers from the kit within each stamped heart.

Of course I had to sneak in a bit of stitching :)  I added a quick zig-zag stitch down the strip of woodgrain.

Have you tried using your stamps from the kit yet??  Feel free to share with us in our Facebook Group HERE - we love to see what our members create!!

Thankful Buckets

A friend of mine inspired me the other day with some little goodies she'd left on her bed for her kiddos to surprise them when they got home from school. Most days, I get home at the same time as my kids, so I don't get to do little surprises like that... but this week, I am off for Thanksgiving and was excited to make these little "thankful" prizes for my kids.

They are very simple, really... just some little strawberry baskets I purchased on etsy filled with baggies of our favorite chocolate drizzled popcorn for an afternoon snack. I added tags made with the Gather Together and Union Square kits.

Just like any other mom, I find myself getting into a rut with fussing and reminding and nagging and everything else with my kids... and I want to be more mindful of telling them of the good they are bringing to our home. That is the point of these little tags... so that they know, regardless of them leaving their shoes and backpacks on the middle of the dining room floor for the bazillionth time, that I am THANKFUL they are in our family... thankful that they are ours.

I hope they love them... and that they feel that they are loved!

Wish for More Moments Like These . . .

Hello fellow scrappers!!  Happy Friday :)  I'm popping in to share another page I've made with Noel's gorgeous Gather Together kit.  I love that there was a mix of traditional autumn colors and some fun pops of brights within the kit!!  It made it easy to use the kit for everyday pages & not just fall-themed :)  The title of my page is "Wish for More Moments Like These".  It has been busy times at my home this past year, as my husband is in the process of starting his own business.  This page is simply a reflection of realizing how busy & crazy our lives have been, and treasuring the moments we do have together as a family.  My favorite part about the photo is my two boys - who just look so stinkin' happy!!!

For the title work I used the white die-cut tag as a focal point, and added everything else around it.  I couldn't resist using one of those sparkly Heidi Swapp words - so fun!!!

Around the photo I clustered some fun embellishments from the kit.  On the top left, I added a circle tag & another circle tag I created by cutting it from a patterned paper using some scalloped scissors.   In the bottom right, I added one of those cute Webster's Pages chipboard buttons, as well as some flair and button from a past kit.

While it may be fall, feel free to think out of the box & use your kit supplies for one of your everyday moments!!!  Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend :)

Autumn Hayride

Hi friends! I'm here today to share a slightly completely tedious layout that I made using the gorgeous Gather Together kit.  I pulled out all of the oranges, reds, yellows, and browns from the kit and punched about a million little tiny leaves.  I used the leaves to create a starburst which I accentuated with the Maya Road fabric tape (love this!) and some of the Webster's pages buttons.

I kind of like making layouts with lots of repetitive detail, I can just zone out punching leaves while watching TV and it's almost relaxing :)  I hope you liked my layout- see you next Thursday on Thanksgiving!

Fall Forts

It's that time of year.... caramel apples, gorgeous crisp afternoons, conversations lingered over... I know Christmas is soon, but I don't want to rush over fall!

One of my favorite memories we made this autumn was making caramel apples with our friends. I got this great shot of my son and two of his buddies, eating their yummy snack inside of a fort of their own making. It made my heart swell. I need to see that they are making good memories. This is the stuff I want them to remember from their childhood.

I used the Gather Together kit , along with some scraps from previous kits and from my own stash to put this together. I mentioned on our facebook group the other day that we had a little mishap with the beautiful Navy Heidi Swapp Shine mist and I lost most of it, but I still had enough to make some pretty splatters on my page.

It's not a complicated layout.. but what it documents is so very important to me!

Blessed to Have You

Sometimes, in the hustle & bustle of raising two young boys, you forget to just watch them.  I mean really watch them at play or working hard at something.  It's really such an amazing thing to just stand back and observe them in those moments.  The other day we were at our first Cub Scout outing and all Ryan cared about was the garden & this cute little green caterpillar he found.  He just held it and watched it crawl over his hand :)  I snapped a few pics & couldn't wait to document it.  The Gather Together kit had just the right mix of subtle patterned papers & embellishments to accent the page.

For my title work I decided to build everything upon one of the adorable stitched pockets found in the kit.  A sticker & a few die-cut words provided a fun mix of font and texture.  Of course I couldn't resist working in some of the fun clips as well!!!

I printed my journaling on vellum and then simply stitched it down to hold it in place :)

My Spin on Julie's Sketch

Hi everyone! I hope you have all been playing along with the sketch challenge this month, it's definitely a great sketch!  I took a looser interpretation and added 4 photos and a long title along the bottom.  I had SUCH a hard time coming up with a title for this layout, I was drawing a complete blank, and then my son made me read "the Very Busy Spider" about a thousand times.  With all those animal noises spinning around in my head I finally decided that they would work for the title of this layout!  Sometimes you just need to give it some time if you're unsure about a part of your layout :)

I really loved using all of the "animal" themed pieces included in the "Gather Together" kit, plus the adorable stamp set!  I have to say, this kit is so amazing- I made 5 layouts in 6 days, I just couldn't put it down :)  Have a great Thursday--

Autumn Owl Art

I've been in the mood- and really have needed- to just play.

My husband made me these cool wooden canvasses a while back, and this teeny tiny one has been sitting on my desk, waiting for inspiration. My bedroom mantel needed a spot of something fun, so I went with a little owl... because I just love them and they make me happy.

I decided to free-hand cut her. I could have used a Silhouette file but I really just wanted to play with the gorgeous papers myself. Plus, I like it when things are a little imperfect looking.

I used all sorts of fun things from the Gather Together kit, including the polka dot stamp strip on the background.

I think she's so cute, and she definitely brings a bright spot right where I wanted it!

Best Day

Hello
Veronica here with another autumn layout. I could not get a clear picture of this layout. I took a close-up so you could see the details of it.

I layered the beautiful papers from the Gather Together kit. If you were on the fence about subscribing, don't hesitate. Noel PACKS these kits with so much goodness!  You receive as much as 3 in 1.
If you are busy like me, you just don't have time to think about coordinating papers, it's nice when it comes all together for you! All that is left for you is to create!
I used tons of layering and I misted the water color tags that was included with gesso and mist spray. I also used an old Maya Road envelope to hide some journaling inside! :) Thanks for stopping by!
