Oh, What Fun: Christmas Cookies

I can't believe that Christmas is just a few days away! Are you ready for Santa? Have you made him some delicious cookies?

My page today is about our tradition of making cookies. Every Christmas my kids and I make gingerbread cookies. The kids each have to have their own ball of dough to roll out ... where they exercise their culinary creativity.

CHRISTMAS COOKIES

I combined both the Oh What Fun Classic Kit and Oh What Fun Daily Diary Kit on this page with it's cheerful color scheme of red, green, pink, white, and tan.

The two little gingerbread people were cut from one of the 3x4 cut apart journaling cards by Pebbles. Aren't they so cute?!

I used the brown color of the gingerbread people as an accent color, making sure to put it in a visual triangle around my page. The two other spots of brown are the reindeer die cut accenting the journal block, and the brown wood veneer accenting the top border strip.

The texture of the puffy stickers reminds me of icing decorating a Christmas cookie. I had lots of fun adding the puffy stickers all around the page.

Merry Christmas!

"Oh What Fun" with All the Trimmings

Hello Everyone, Lynn here with my latest layout using this month's "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit. Our challenge this week is "All the Trimmings - simply use three different types of embellishments on our project. Here's my page.
I came across this beautiful photo by my talented photographer friend of her adorable daughter. It was perfect for my Holiday page. Here's some close ups.
Plenty of embellishments on this page ... thickers, washi tape, and an acrylic word.
I added sequins and a decorative paper clip.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.

{All the Trimmings} Challenge with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

Happy Monday before Christmas---yes, less than a week until the BIG day!  I have a layout to share today using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is working with an "All the Trimmings" challenge, which means we are using a minimum of 3 different types of embellishments on our layouts.

My layout is a picture of my kids visiting Santa last Christmas.

I used quite a few different types of embellishments on this layout, why stop at 3???!?  I started off with a couple of layers of patterned paper mixed with cardstock to create a festive base for my photo.  Once I had the layers down, I began embellishing.

I started with the title, which is a mix of the 2 alphas that came in this month's kit.  Next, I matted one of the cut apart quotes, threw in a "Santa's Toy Shop" chipboard piece, and tucked in a puffy sticker holly berries and leaf.  I paired this embellishment cluster with a home made journaling card.

Then I moved to the bottom of the photo.  I paired the "making spirits bright" die cut with a chipboard snowflake, a few branding strips, and the "be merry" label sticker to create this embellishment cluster.  I punched some 1" circles and "strung" them together with baker's twine to create the mini banner that swags across the top of the layout.

And with that, the layout was complete.  I am having so much fun with the "Oh What Fun" kit this month, and getting so many of those Christmas photos scrapbooked.  The giant Noel Mignon Kits have so much fun stuff in them---it's great for getting lots and lots of layouts completed.

Thank you for joining me today!  Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Week 19 | Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit

One week until Christmas!  How is everyone doing today?  Wendy here to share a new challenge and some inspiration for the week.  I'm going to be baking cookies so in between the batches I hope to be crafting (and resting).  This week your challenge is the "All the Trimmings" challenge - Use three different types of embellishments.

I printed these pictures out and decided to scrap them right away, I am scrapping out of order, but at least I am working in my PL album!

How about 3 different types of embellishments on one card?  I've used the Echo Park layered stickers, wood veneer, and some tiny red gems I had in my stash.  I've also used stickers and an overlay on other parts of my page.

So take a minute from your hectic Christmas schedule and do a little scrapping, just don't forget to share what you have created on the FB page!

Santa Hat | Oh What Fun Classic Kit

Hey there!  Laura here today with a new layout to share using the 'Oh What Fun" December classic kit!   As you know, this week the DT members were asked to use ribbon and / or washi on their projects and since the kit came with great options for both - this is a no brainer! I chose to pull papers from the Simple Stories Classic Christmas collection that were included in the kit to create my page.

I began my page with this photo of my youngest son, who likes to don the Santa hat and hand out the gifts each Christmas.  Then I had the idea that it may be fun to use a Santa hat cut file.  I altered a cut file that I made years back to incorporate a patch work or string art look, so that I could fill in the spaces with a variety of patterned papers.

I also added in swatches of ribbon and vellum paper from the kit to fill in some of the patches.

Once that was finished I layered on a second hat band and pompom, after embossing the with a snowflake embossing folder.

I love these glittery Thickers that were in the kit!

I also added in some journalling and a few more embellishments to the bottom of my layout, and finished it all off with some mist splatters in red and green.

I also have a new process video today, you can watch the video for this layout below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Simple Stories Classic Christmas "Falala", "T'is the Season" and "Oh Christmas Tree" patterned papers, Bradz and enamel dots; Pretty Little Studio Holly vellum; Echo Park I love Christmas chipboard; Thickers Reindeer alphas; American Crafts cardstock; Elle's Studio T'is the Season puffy stickers, washi and cut aparts; May Arts ribbons; Mr Hue's peppermint mist.  (from my stash: The Twinery Twine; green Smooch Spritz; Sharpei).

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Heading to the tree farm!

Hey guys, Michelle here! It's been pretty cold here in eastern WA which is perfect for spending some time indoors and doing some scrapbooking! Last week my family went to the tree farm to pick out our Christmas tree. We have wonderful farms here and it's so much fun to head out & pick out the perfect one. Normally we go Thanksgiving weekend or the 1st weekend in December. But between school activities and my husband being out of town a lot we were a bit later than normal. And because of that the entire farm was covered in a blanket of snow which was so pretty...and cold!
So I pulled out my Oh What Fun Daily Diary kit to document these memories!
Everything came together so easily since there were so many journaling cards to choose from. How lucky was it that we went to the farm on the 10th and I had a gold '10' in my kit?!
And all of the sticker phrases were the perfect accent to my photos. I also grabbed some enamel dots from my stash.
I decided to emboss the wood tree that was in the kit with some green embossing powder. I simply placed the wood piece on my Versamark pad trying to cover it as much as I could. Then I added some embossing powder and used my heat tool to emboss. It didn't quite emboss as well as I'd hoped (maybe because the wood piece was so thin?) so to compensate for that I added some glitter Stickles on the top. It's ok if it's not perfect :)

This week the design team is using washi & ribbon on our pages so I added washi to my top left card along with that cute ribbon to the bottom of my 'Joy' card, stapled to keep it secure.

Happy Holidays!!!

Documenting Wk 50 with the "Oh What Fun!" kit and a Video

Happy Thursday!!! Danielle here and today I am up with a new Project Life Spread with a Process Video using the new Oh What Fun! Daily Diary Kit.

This weeks Design Teams challenge is "Wrap it Up" - use both Washi Tape and Ribbon on your project.

I used Washi on my christmas tree photo, and I used ribbon along the edge of my page, that I machine stitched on. I love the texture it adds to my project!

I love all the bits and pieces in this months kit! The gold numbers are my favourite! I also loved the snowflake acetate overlay, that I placed over my weather radar photo!

Here are some close ups
