Questionable Content

I have a few things from here and there that I wanted to share today. Some older, some newer!

I made this with the new Lemonade Stand kit (10 left!). I added the letter stickers from my stash, but everything else is from the kit.

The title comes from an online comic that my brother loves- I thought it made a rather clever title for this layout about all of Atticus' questions. He's in the "why??" stage right now. And I suck at coming up with titles usually, so I was pretty proud of this one. hehe

These are some little frames I've had in the little girls' room for a while. They are made with a mixture of things from my stash and from the NM Paper Doll kit (sold out).

And last for today, a little thank you card that is long overdue- and I have quite a few more to make. :) Lots of people in my life that have done special things for us in the last couple of months that I think need a little thank you card.

Project Runway Challenge and a Tutorial!

Good morning and happy Wednesday to you! I have a LO to share with you of my cutie pie niece! I created this as part of this week's Project Runway challenge. We were to take an episode and get inspired by it! I chose the episode where the designers were to use burlap. I didn't have real burlap. So I bought a roll of cross stitching fabric, which sort of looks like burlap! I also did lots of stitching here and chose a "fashion" picture! (She is quite ready for the runway don't you think?) I used Noel's Paper Doll kit.....which is sold out. I will also share with you how I made all of these glittery, dimensional flowers! So read on! : )

First you need your "burlap." (Do any of you have actual real burlap in your house? If you do, I would really like to know why! Practicing those sack races or somethin'? LOL! ) You will also need flower stamps and ink pads. Now for mine, I used Papertrey Ink stamps and dies, but any flower stamp and a good pair of fabric scissors will work too! I rolled my "burlap" out and stamped like a crazy woman! I figured, I would make bunches of these flowers in different sizes and save them for future projects!

Then I quickly cut the flowers and leaves into squares. It makes it so much easier to cut it!

I started making piles of flowers/leaves. :)

Now that you have your flowers cut, let's make them glittery, shall we? Start with your "naked" flower.

Grab some glue and clear glitter.......this is what I used for mine.

Slap that glue on your flower......it will get a bit messy!

Scrunch the base of flower and start pulling and curling your individual petals. We are adding dimension to the flower that will last......since the glue will harden and hold its shape!

Play around until you get the achieved dimension you would like.....then place it on wax paper....so it doesn't stick!

Then......dump the glue on top!

Once it is dry, shake excess glitter off and dress up your flowers with brads, buttons, rhinestones......layer them, or leave them be. Whatever you like! You don't have to glitter them either.......but the glue is great for holding the flower's shape, so it doesn't flatten out!

You will be seeing more of my burlap flowers on future projects......since I made like 90 bajillion of them! LOL!

This is using the paper doll kit and a glimpse into some my sewing machines that respectively have names. Sergio and Ethel..poor Lucy was left out because i just use her now to sew with specialty threads. Thor was also left out because i am going to do a page specifically on him and my love of embroidering anything i can get my hands on. :)

Working that Paper Doll

Wow this is the kit that just keeps growing. I have made all sorts of layouts with this kit and I still have a ton left.

This is my friends little girl who is definitly a mess. I have made several layouts using her pics because she is too cute to be able to resist. Besides, maybe by the time she is 5 i'll have a complete book to give her mom :)

i used one of the pencil lines sketches for this one because my creativity has flown the coup but now it's back...that is what i love about sketches good starting point and then you just roll with it and the creative juices get flowing.



Next is a layout using the Seaside Cottage kit:
I challenged myself to use only paper and no embellishments. And this is what i came up with. I love that this kit is not only for girls but you can really work it for boys too.

The webster's papers that were included were perfect for this photo.
this layout was quite a challenge for me because i LOVE embellishments and could have used them but i wanted to challenge myself a bit and happy to report i met my challenge :)

New Years Eve

This was done using the Sold Out Paper Doll Kit. i created this layout of the hubs and I on our anniversary...which happens to be new years eve...

Better Late Than Never!

My tutorial I mean! I've had such computer issues and it had to be repaired.....along with it went my pictures and this tutorial! But my computer is fixed and I am back in business! I created this lil' birthday card for Noel's birthday using the Prima stamp from the Paper Doll kit. I stamped these gals with black Momento ink. I had this brainstorm to create a rainbow behind them.......

Here is how I did it! The ovals were cut using a Spellbinder's die. But an oval punch would work as well.

Ok.......I used an airbrush system.....but markers, paints, colored pencils would work too......

Just in case you needed a reminder of the colors of the rainbow......... : )

Leave just a sliver of paper showing and.......

Now, I am just using the "negative" space oval......

Here is a close up of the rainbow........

I hope that makes sense! You can create "rainbows" for your scrappy pages too.....or do this on paper and then die cut your letters...or shapes.........just sayin! : )

Magazine Inspiration

I was flipping through the most recent issue of Country Living magazine today, and this page jumped out to me. I am really into "tone on tone" decorating right now, and it's easing its way into my scrappy creating too!

I used these pretty white layers as inspiration for this layout, made with the Paper Doll kit (sold out!), about my Ariana's teeny tiny toes.

Also, have you checked out the latest challenge? It's inspired by GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Oh, how I love this show. Do I really have to wait until April for the next episode?!

Oh well, at least until then I can listen to the awesome music from the show (hey, and we have a playlist on the challenge blog with it too!).
