first day of school

Hey all, Michelle here with a couple layouts I created using that fabulous sketch from Laura Whitaker that the design team is playing with this week. Since there were 3 spaces for photos and it was also the first week of school for my kiddos this week AND I happen to have 3 kids, I figured this sketch would be perfect for a back to school layout!
When I have multiple layouts to create of basically the same theme (school, sports, etc) I will many times use a sketch to create my pages using different papers and other elements to make the pages look different. For my pages today I used the new Buttons and Bows Classic kit which had the perfect colors to compliment my photos.
So my first page was of my littlest one's first day of Kindergarten. I followed the basic design of the sketch, adding my own touches to personalize it.
Side tip: My favorite adhesive for wood veneers/pieces is the fine tip glue pen from Stampin' Up! Seriously awesome for wood!!
For my second page I did a mirror image of the sketch to change things up a bit, still following the basic design of the sketch.
So let's see what you can come up with! Create a page using this sketch and upload to the Noel Mignon facebook page for a chance to win a Daily Diary Kit (must be a US resident to enter)! Noel will draw a random name from the entries on Sept 30th so get scrappin'!!

Documenting Week 34 with Buttons & Bows

Hey everyone! Danielle here today to share with you a new Project Life Spread using the NEW Noel Mignon Buttons and Bows Daily Diary Kit.

We are having a sketch challenge this month and it includes a prize!! Play along with us and create a project using this sketch. You don't have to use a Noel Mignon Kit to play along, but if you have one we would love that!! Upload your project to our September Sketch Album for a chance to win a Buttons and Bows Daily Diary Kit!! The prize is for US RESIDENTS ONLY. You have until the end of the month to enter. One winner will be randomly picked so come join us. Here's our sketch.

This weeks Design Teams Challenge was to use the awesome sketch that fellow DT member Laura Whitaker created for us.
You can find more of Laura's creative work on her BLOG and INSTAGRAM

Here is how I used it in my Project Life Wk 34 spread.

Here is my full week

There are so many fun elements in this months kit!

Here you can see my PL card I created using Laura's sketch. I love how it turned out. I used that adorable puppy sticker in place of putting a title where it was shown in the sketch.

You know me, I cannot get enough texture on my projects, so here I added some of this cute burlap ribbon from my stash and stitched it to the side of the page.

Here is a close up of the card I created using Laura's sketch. I love how the sticky heart ribbon from this months kit, worked in place of using a scallop border.

I also used the sticky heart ribbon on this journaling card.

I loved the buttons this month, and chose to use them in a shaker pocket that I stitched with my sewing machine, onto my Design A page protector.

Thanks for stopping by!

"Besties" | Buttons and Bows Classic Kit

Hello Everyone, Lynn here to share my first layout using this month's B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L  "Buttons and Bows" Classic Kit. This kit is so pretty and girly and there's still a few left!!

Our sketch this month is courtesy of our very own DT Member Laura Whitaker. You can visit her blog at  http://scrappinaroundtheclock.blogspot.ca and her instagram account at
https://www.instagram.com/whitakerlaura/.
Here's my take on the sketch.

I kept fairly true to Laura's sketch but I replaced one of the photos with a cluster of layered embellishments.
Included in the Buttons and Bows Classic Kit is a bottle of white Ranger's Enamel Accents. Enamel Accents is a dimensional, opaque medium that dries to a shiny gloss and creates a faux enamel finish. It gives a 3D look to any project and can be used on paper, wood, metal, glass and plastic. It comes in 12 gorgeous colors and it's fine tip allows for detailed decorating. I created simple small circles with the Enamel Accents.
Notice the adorable paper bows on my page? In this month's kit are two sheets of precut paper bow pieces by Fancy Pants including directions on making these bows in various sizes - they're super easy to create and add dimension to any project.

Here's a side view of my layout so you can see the dimension on the page.
Thanks so much so stopping by today and we hope you will join us in our sketch challenge this month! The prize is well worth it!! Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Creating Pocket Cards with Country Life

Hello all and welcome to challenge week! If you didn't see Danielle's post yesterday, the DT is bringing an entire week of challenges. You'll have almost a full month to get them finished and if you complete all challenges (6 in total, I believe), you will be entered to win a Daily Diary Kit of your choosing as your prize! How awesome is that?! Plus, you don't have to use the kits to complete these challenges so if you've never tried NoelMignon but would like to, play along using your stash and you'll be in the running to win the kit.

Okay, enough of the logistics. Let's get to talking challenges. I am challenging you to make your own pocket cards. If you are not a pocket page maker, don't worry, I've got a challenge for you too. First, my page and card I made using the Country Life Daily Diary Kit:

I made a card by layering some strips from the 6x6 sheets of paper included in the kit and added one of the gingham buttons and a word art strip from the kit and some veneer from my stash.

I didn't really have an idea in mind when I started this so I recommend just sitting down and playing with paper and seeing how it goes. Or if you need to plan it out, feel free to do that too. Or if you really would like some help, feel free to use this sketch (but it is not required that you use the sketch to enter the challenge):

For all of you non-pocket-page people, your challenge is to use this sketch as inspiration for a layout or whatever type of project you'd like to make. To play along, join the NoelMignon Facebook Group and there will be albums there that you can upload your projects to for each challenge. Can't wait to see what you all make.

Sketch Time!!

It's the first Friday of the month which means SKETCH TIME!!!  Here is this month's sketch focusing on clean lines & LOTS of pics!!!

 photo nmdecsketch_zps34190705.jpg

I excitedly broke into my AWESOME Ribbon Candy kit this week!!!  Full of cheery holiday colors & patterns, as well as lots of adorable embellishments, this kit was so much fun to play with!!

 photo christmas600_zpsaa039981.jpg

On each photo I used the teeny, tiny (& adorable) little October Afternoon word stickers.  The circle clip might be my favorite embellishment ever!!!  I love how easy it was to accent a photo by clipping this little guy on :)

 photo christmascu1_zps5c3a6865.jpg

My title work was a mix of both alphas in the kit.  Of course I LOVED the script Thickers in red (Thickers addict over here!!) and the October Afternoon little black script alphas were just perfect to fit into that little tag :)

Bring on the Sketch!!

Hello fellow scrappers :)  Happy Friday!!  I'm here to share this month's sketch challenge :)  A simple 2 photo sketch with a few circles and large title.

 photo nmnovsketch_zpsb084b297.jpg

I couldn't wait to break into my new Gather Together kit.  As usual, there were tons of adorable embellishments but what I LOVED the most was the variety of striking patterned papers mixed together in this kit!!

 photo letsgo600_zpsd88c1090.jpg

I layered the patterned papers up behind the two photos.  I just couldn't resist incorporating a bunch of them :)  The little paper clip wood veneer embellishments were too cute and I decided to tuck one over the paper arrow die-cut.  I also added the wood "together" chip right over the clip with an extra glue dot!!

 photo letsgocu3_zps3e3dda9f.jpg

For my title work I used a mix of both alphas in the kit & some die-cut words from my Silhouette.  One more wood veneer heart chip over the "o" and one of those sweet little Lilybee heart enamel pieces  - title complete :)

 photo letsgocu2_zps38edf863.jpg

For my journaling I decided to type it up on vellum and then back the chipboard frame from my kit with it.  I also added patterned paper behind the vellum to give it some nice texture!!

Alright everyone - time to get scrapping!!!  Your entry to this challenge is due Friday November 29th .  Once you have completed your entry, be sure to post it in our Facebook group.  One lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a $10 gift certificate to the Noel Mignon store!!!  Can't wait to see what you all come up with :)

It's Sketch Time!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!  I'm here today to share a new sketch challenge for June - YAY!!  This month's sketch features a fun page element that I have seen popping up all over - speech bubbles :)  Check it out . . .

Here is my take on this month's sketch using June's Beach Blvd. kit . . .

I took advantage of the adorable chipboard speech bubbles in this month's kit, and used all 3 to surround my center speech bubble.  This one was cut using my Silhouette.  It was actually more of a journaling card with a speech bubble :)   You can find the cut file in the Silhouette store HERE.  For the title work I mixed the bright teal alphas with an Elle's Studio tag & LilyBee Designs sticker - all found in the kit!!!
