Stamping Through the Snow with Sweet Charlotte

Hello Noel Mignon Peeps! How are you all doing? Lynn here to share this week's theme: "Stamping Through the Snow". This week we are showcasing how we used the adorable stamps and Heidi Swapp Color Shine included in this month's
Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit. Included in the kit is a wood veneer frame which I "painted" with the color shine - remember to shake the mist well before using to mix the mica that settles to the bottom (there is a mixing ball in the bottle.) I grabbed a paint brush and painted the color shine onto the frame. Once dry I used one of the stamps on the frame. Here's my page - it's an 8.5 x 11 in size.
Here's a few closeups ...

I roughly laid out the papers on my page and penciled in where the typing would go. I then typed out my journaling on my typewriter and then adhered my papers. I also added some splatters of Color Shine in a few corners of the page.
How cool is the American Crafts cork bow! They are so fun! Here's a peek at some more misting ...
We would love to see how you use stamping and/or misting on your projects! Stay tuned for more projects from the team using these techniques! Have a great week everyone!!!

Documenting Week 3 with Sweet Charlotte

Happy Monday!
Danielle here to share with you my 2016 Project Life Week 3 spread, using the

I added a 6x12 insert so I could include some things my boys made at school this week.
I used the bottom part of the insert to create a shaker pocket, adding the Pretty Little Studio Confetti Mix that came in the kit.
Here is a picture of the layout together minus the insert.
I used my sewing machine to stitch the yellow pom pom trim that was included in the kit, to the edge of my page. I also created some more shaker pockets.
Here is a close up of the insert.
I created a fun paperclip using one of the yellow pom poms from the trim.
Here are a few more close ups.
I loved working with this kit! There were so many fun little bits in it, and the colour combination was gorgeous.

What have you been creating with your Sweet Charlotte Kit(s)?

Snowmageddon 2015

Hello again!

I love the theme for this week! I live in west Texas and while we don't get a LOT of snow every winter we do get some from time to time and when we do, we CELEBRATE!

The funny thing about snow where I live is that it is here for a day or so and then it's usually gone.

We go from 30 degrees one day to 65 the next.

Not this time.

Right after Christmas we got a snowstorm that the weather people named "Goliath," and for our little part of the world, it was a lot of snow. Granted it was only about a foot of snow, but that is more than we've had in about twenty years. We got so much that the town shut down. We live in a place of more than 100,000 that has only two snow plows. Since we got a couple of inches of ice before the snow arrived the roads were a mess. Businesses closed, government leaders told us to stay home unless we absolutely had to go somewhere.

People were calling it "Snowmageddon" and the "snowpocalypse."

We spent many hours trying to clear the snow from our driveway and sidewalk.

It was fun to stay home and relax. The kids built snowmen and forts and threw lots of snowballs at each other. We made snow ice cream. After a while, though, the cabin fever set in. On that particular day we decided to get out of the house and made our way over to the park in our neighborhood. It was so fun! We found hills to slide on and lots and lots more snow that had yet to be touched. It was great fun! Of course I had my camera along with me to capture our adventure.

To carry out the "winter blues" theme for this week I chose this diagonally striped patterned paper from the Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit to go on my base. I added droplets of aqua, navy and white mist. I painted the wooden frame and cork letters with acrylic paint. I also used a marker to change the pink alpha stickers to a turquoise blue. The pompom trim added a fun element to the page.

There were lots of fun blue accents in the kit. I chose some tags, stickers, this little blue wooden button, a brad and some rub-ons to add more details to the layout. I also added some little star sequins to the background.

What do you do to beat the winter blues?

We'd sure love to hear about it!

Winter Blues---in the desert???

It's kind of hard to have "winter blues" when you live in the desert.  We don't see much, if any, snow.  Nor do we really see many changing seasons throughout the year...it's typically mild weather in the winter months then really hot...for months and months and months...and then mild weather in the winter again...until spring and it's hot all over again.  So what do you do when you live in the desert and it's 70 degrees on New Year's Eve day???  Why, you go ice skating, of course!!!

I used the "Sweet Charlotte" Classic Kit to create this layout about my daughter's first time ice skating...

The colors and triangles in the Maggie Holmes "Shine" paper matched the colors in my photographs pretty well, so I knew right away I wanted to use this paper with these photos.

The wood veneer originally said "Best Day Ever", but I decided to cut away the "Ever" part and use the "Best Day" as part of my title which reads "Best Day with my Little Girl".

And here are a few more details from my layout, using the Maggie Holmes stickers, the doily, the chipboard embellishments, and the Heidi Swapp mist...

Thank you for visiting me today.  Please share some of your "winter" layouts with us on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook page.  I would love to see your work!!!

feeling blue-sy with daily diary

Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another week....and another fun theme to think about when working with your kit this month!

If you have been following the blog this past week, then you are familiar with what we are calling the "Winter Blues".  This means either using blue as a prominent color within your layout/spread from the kit this month....OR document something that helps you beat the winter blues.

Well.....today's pocket page layout for me is both!  I used the Daily Diary kit to compile this fun layout together.  I focused on the beautiful blue tones found in this kit to pull my page together...as well as a fun photo of my son and I spending time outdoors....a great way to beat the winter blues!

This photo was taken on January 1st....his first time with little skates on enjoying skating on the frozen lake....a Canadian tradition!

It was really fun to piece together all of the varied blue tones.  The patterns in this months kit are gorgeous and I loved all of the die cut journaling bits that were included this month.

The left hand side of my layout...I did not add any photos.  Instead I just wanted to really enjoy and play with the varied "blue tones" in this kit...as well as enjoy the beautiful embellishments and stamps that are part of this kit.  I love grids.

I really enjoyed this fun theme.
It was great to focus on one color for this spread....and celebrate some memories.
All of this combined definitely helped me beat the winter blues!
Scrapbooking definitely has that healing power.

Sweet Charlotte Classic Kit: #Friends

Happy Wednesday! It's Jana Eubank. Coming off the holiday high can sometimes leave a touch of the winter blues for some people during the month of January. I'm so glad we have the beautiful colors of the January Sweet Charlotte kits to brighten those wintry days, right?!!

Last week I shared a page with you using a twist on a Primary color scheme. This week, I'm going with the "Winter Blues" theme and decided to use blue as the main color on this page. And it just so happens to be a page ABOUT winter! What do you know?!

#FRIENDS

I LOVE the light aqua calendar background paper of this page. The watercolor feel and hand-drawn calendars give it such a soft, beautiful feel! Perfect for a page about a beautiful winter morning!

This morning truly was magical. We hadn't received snow at all leading up to Christmas 2014, but when we woke up on Christmas Day there was 2+ feet waiting in the yard! It truly was magical!

For accents, I pulled out the yellow and pink elements from the kit. I created this little grouping of elements in the corner of my main photo using the super-cute Pretty Little Studio die cut feathers along with a pink rosette sticker and Crate Paper stickers.

I layered together a few more stickers behind this photo, and then used smaller stickers along with a Dear Lizzy wood button to emulate softly falling snowflakes.

I used one of the Fancy Pants tags for my journaling and then layered lots of fun bits around it for more color, filling in the smapes with banner stickers, rubons and a flair sticker. This little grouping makes me so happy!

So what about you, do you embrace the beautiful hues of the winter blues, ... or are you a snowbird, escaping to warmer places during the cold, winter months? Create a page this week about either one! We'd love to see!

See you next time!

A Week of Winter Blues

Hi Noel Mignon Peeps! Lynn here to share my second layout using January's FAB Classic Kit "Sweet Charlotte". Our theme this week is Winter Blues. The theme can be interpreted a few ways - by using blue as a prominent color on your project or creating a project showcasing what YOU do to fight the Winter Blues! I combined both. The gorgeous blue floral background paper contrasts with my winter photos, which I like! Here's my page ...
These photos remind me how rough last winter was - it was New England COLD!!
All the embellishments in this month's kit match so perfectly (as always!!) - the hearts are soooo cute!! To fight the winter blues, I head into my studio and create!!
I scattered some sequins from the Pretty Little Studio Confetti here and there on my page.
So, lets see how YOU fight the winter blues! Stay tuned for more inspiration from the team using this week's theme!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
