The Grand Canyon: April's "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit

Hey guys!  Sarah here with my last layout using the Let's Get Lost classic kit.  I really wanted to redo a layout that I made a long time ago.  During a cross-country military move, we were driving from California to Florida and decided to make a few pit stops.  One of them was The Grand Canyon.

I really wanted to use that Pink Paislee mountain scene paper since it really resembled the Grand Canyon to me.  Since I didn't want to cover it up too much, I used 3x3 photos and minimal embellishments.

I used a few papers leftover from other layouts and layered them up, using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink to bring them together (not included in kit).  I also used some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Ocean all around both sides of the layout.

For the embellishing, I used a few stickers from We R Memory Keepers which had the blue tones I was looking for.  I also love the Pink Paislee puffy heart sticker that has the same mountain pattern as the opposite paper.  I adds a perfect echo of pattern to help bring the two sides together.

I used some of the teal cardstock to matte my photos.  For the "Under the Stars" theme for this week...I used a few gold glitter stars from the Thickers pack.  I cut out a heart from the Shimelle patterned paper which had the perfect colors in them.

To finish off, I added a few stickers and echoed the pink woodgrain banner from the other side of the layout.  And the WRMK sticker that says "Life is a GRAND Adventure" was just too good...right?

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Have you ever looked back on a layout and wanted to redo it?  Don't be afraid to go for it!

Hitting the Slopes: April "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit

Hey guys!  Sarah here with a very old picture of myself with my family when we were living overseas.  My father was in the military and we lived in Europe for a few years.  While there, we took advantage of where we were and did some traveling.  One thing we did almost every year was go on a group trip to Austria to do some skiing.

All of the mountain papers really spoke to me to create this layout for my album about my childhood.  And it was perfect, since we are literally on a mountain in the picture!

The title fit perfectly right above the photo and I used a mix of the Thickers and the We R Memory Keepers tiny alphabets.  To top off the title, I used a puffy camera sticker from Pink Paislee and a Shimelle wood button with more mountains.

I wanted something bold on the bottom so those gold glitter Thickers were great for that.  I also added a few more little details including the black and gold washi tape.  To add some more dimension, I fussy cut around the mountain paper to give them some height and an added detail under the photo.

For the journaling, I used a die cut and covered up the sentiment with a strip of the washi so it made more sense for my layout.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and it helps inspire you to pull out some older photos and get them documented.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Awesome Traveler - Let's Get Lost Kit (April Classic)

Hi!  Sarah here with my take on an adventurous layout.  Now...this one isn't about a particular event or trip.  This one is about how my younger sister didn't have the most adventurous spirit growing up.  She tended to get moody and whiny when we went on trips.  I have a series of pictures from different places and she just has the best "stink face" in all three photos.  I just had to document this!

I really loved the map paper from Echo Park that was in the kit so I used it to signify the traveling aspect of the photos.

The title is a mix of the Thickers from the kit and a word sticker from the We R Memory Keepers sticker sheet.  I used the brackets also from the WRMK sheet to emphasize that this is a sarcastic title.  I fussy-cut some of the cameras out of the Echo Park paper to use as embellishments in three different areas.  Adding the yellow puffy sticker from Pink Paislee was the perfect way to finish off that camera!

I also used the "YAY" from the glitter Thickers pack and left out the exclamation point to further add to the sarcasm.  My journaling is right next to it talking about the topic of the layout.

I finished off the photos with some of the WRMK word tiles and used some of the Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Ocean as a finishing touch.  Since the map paper had so much design already, I didn't need to do too much to the layout.  Nice and simple and I love it!

Adventures come in different forms and mean different things to different people.  Do you have a funny story to tell that can be considered an adventure?  Maybe something sarcastic?  I can't wait to see what you make with your kits this month!

Two "Adventurous" Layouts using the {Let's Get Lost} Classic Kit

Hello Noel Mignon Friends!!!  This week the design team is working with the "Let's Get Lost" kits and creating "adventurous" layouts.  I am working with the Classic Kit

Today I'm sharing 2 layouts of pictures of my son back from 2011.  We were playing and fishing in the mountains.  I have quite a few layouts from this day, and I have so many pictures, so I didn't need to include jounaling on every single layout.  But I did want to try to fit as many pictures as possible on a few pages.  The "Let's Get Lost Kit" was perfect for these photos, this is what I came up with...

For this first layout, I used the Fancy Pants "Teal Dot" paper as the background.  I only used one more scrap of patterned paper on this layout, the chevron patterned paper by Pink Paislee.

I used a combination of an arrow stamp with blue ink,  a "+" stencil with watercolors, and some of the Heidi Swap "Ocean" Color Shine splattered on the Teal Dot background paper to create an interesting canvas.  I also used a little white acrylic paing under my title and the date to allow those to pop and not get lost in the background.

I created my title with a combination of the glitter Thickers and a few stamps from my stash.  I added a few cork stickers to the title as well.

I used one of the flair pieces and a cork sticker from this month's kit to embellish the 4x6 photo on the page.

I used the canvas banner, a date stamp, another cork piece, and one of the glitter Thickers to embellish the bottom corner of my layout.

The second "adventurous" layout that I made with the Let's Get Lost Kit is also packed with photos.  I used a "We R Memory Keepers" patterned paper as my background, and matted the entire layout on another "We R Memory Keepers" paper.

Again, I had so many photos, that I didn't need to use much more than a few scraps of the patterned papers from the kit.  I did pull the green gingham scraps from an older Noel Mignon kit. I matted all of the photos with the Kraft paper that came in this month's kit.

I used a glitter Thicker's phrase for my title "Let's Go!".

I fussy cut a few shapes from some various patterned papers in this month's kit to create embellishmnets.  I loved the Bingo card that came in the kit, so I made sure to use it here too!  My favorite part of this layout was when I realized our city "Tucson" was on the map paper!!!  It was very close to the edge but I HAD to stitch a little red heart around it.  It still looked a little bit lost, so I added some blue ink all around the heart to bring a little more attention to it.  I absolutely love this little area of the page! You can see the heart in the photo below.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  Check back on the blog all week to see other "adventurous" layouts by the rest of our creative design team.  We would love to see your work on Instagram #NoelMignon

Greece: Let's Get Lost Kit (April Classic)

Hi everyone!  Sarah here with my first layout using April's classic kit, Let's Get Lost.  Now, I'll be honest, the travel theme intimidated me a bit at first because our family hasn't been able to really take any vacations lately.  But then, I remembered I had a project that I started a couple of years ago where I'm documenting some of my childhood memories.  And some of them are travels!

For this layout, I found a picture of Baby Sarah in the back holder that my mom was wearing while on a trip to Greece when my father was stationed overseas.  Here, I'm about 6 months old.  My parents always teased that I had been to Greece before...and I say that totally doesn't count!  But here is the photographic evidence.

I love how the white washed brink from the We R Memory Keepers paper highlights the washed stone in the picture.  The "Snug as a Bug" puffy sticker was perfect for representing how I'm quite snug in that backpack.

The globe fabric was just perfect for this layout.  I cut a long strip to go across the bottom of my layers and help create a place for my title.

For some extra accents, I cut out some of the heart images on the Shimelle patterned paper and used them as embellishments.  I also used one of the large Prima flowers (totally out of my comfort zone).  I love how it fits in the corner of my photo.  And I finished it off with a little sprinkling of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Ocean Blue.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I can't wait to see what you make with your Let's Get Lost kits.  Do you have any older trip photos you can scrap?

Have a great weekend!

{This Boy Loves an Adventure} with the "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit

Hello all!  It's Meridy here.  Today I'm sharing a double page layout using the "Let's Get Lost" Classic Kit.  This kit is one of my favorites!  I love the bold colors and the blues throughout the kit.  I believe there is still ONE more of these kits in the store as of this morning.

I pulled out some photos from 2011 to use with this kit, and unlike most of my layouts, I only used one piece of patterned paper! But I also managed to fit 13 photos on this layout!

I did use lots of scraps of cardstock from my scrap bin to build up the layers.  I choose the colors based on the colors of the paddle paper.  These colors were also in my photos, so it worked out great!

I actually fussy cut a couple of designs from another sheet of patterned paper.  The blue embellishments that read "so loving this" and "let's be adventurous" came from one of the WeRMemory Keepers papers from this month's kit.  I paired them with a few puffy stickers, some glitter foam stars, a touch of washi, and some cork stickers from the kit to create some embellishment clusters.

The letter stickers I used are from my stash, I thought I needed the blue in there to make the title stand out against the busy background paper and photos.

I finished off the layout by adding a few more embellishments from the kit to the strip of photos that runs across the bottom of the left side of the layout.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I would love to see what you are creating with your Noel Mignon kit either on our Members Facebook Page or on Instagram #NoelMignon

See you later!!!

Hand of God | Falloween Classic Kit

Good morning, Noel Mignon friends!  Wendy here today sharing a new page based on a daring challenge...  "Enter if you Dare" - your challenge, is to create an interactive element on your project.
I chose to document Hurricane Matthew, our first run in with a hurricane in FL, and how we were truly spared devastation!

I used the die-cut spider web to portray the fear that a hurricane can bring.  I split my web in half to then serve as the doors to open up and see the miracle.  The cute wood buttons served as my door knob.

The web is only glued down on the straight edge so that the pictures underneath can be viewed.  And yes, I found this picture on FB as Hurricane Matthew was moving in and it was a skull, truly scary.

But, God!

Winds were supposed to hit our town at 130mph, instead the winds were 65mph with a few 80mph gusts, that was a true miracle which I am so thankful to my Heavenly father for!

Dying Easter Eggs Layout with the "Vintage Charm" Classic Kit

Hello kit club fans!  It's Meridy here with another double page layout for you.  This time I pulled out some springtime photographs of my kids dying Easter eggs in 2015.  I am using the "Vintage Charm" Classic Kit for this layout.  There are 2 more of these kits in the store, so hurry over to get one!

I started this layout by loosely placing the photographs where I wanted them on the page.  Next I added the strips of patterned paper across the top 1/3 of each page.   After that, I decided to matt each photo so it would "pop" better against the white background paper.

After adding strips of various patterned papers and stickers, I decided the top portion of the page needed a little more visual weight, so I added the gold scalloped sticker. I had fun with the stickers and color shine on this layout!

The right side of the layout is similar to the left side, the photos are the star of the show today!!!
.

I had fun creating sticker clusters and subtitles across both pages with the Heidi Swapp Glitter Alphabet stickers that came in this month's kit. I added a little journaling, and the layout was complete!!!

Thank you for looking!  See you next week with layout made from the September "Buttons & Bows" kit.

Love & Laughter | Vintage Charm Classic Kit

Good Morning Noel Mignon friends!  Wendy here today to share a new challenge and some inspiration using the Vintage Charm Classic Kit (there are still 2 left).  Your challenge this week is to use the title "Love and Laughter" on your project.

I knew I wanted to use these pictures to talk about the love my boy has for his Pilchard doll (from Bob the Builder) and the laughter they share together, but with his hat I was also drawn to the bold Boys Rule cut file I had laying on my table from the Cut Shoppe.  So I combined the soft and sweet (flowers, pinks, ball of yarn), with the bold masculine (navy blue, title, striped frames) to create a layout filled with tension and excitement!

I've just about killed my kit now, what about you?  Have you order your Button & Bow kit yet?
Until next week, be blessed!
