resolutions documented with daily diary.

happy happy new years eve everyone!
wow! just like that 2015 is over.
i cannot believe that 2016 is only hours away.
a fresh NEW year. sounds exciting doesn't it?

so, for my last and final instalment for 2015....and the december daily diary kit i created a fun 'resolution' spread in my album.  how perfect are those foil numbers?

true to my style, and how i love to change it up, you will notice again i used a lot of the elements both inside and outside my pocket pages. it's fun to change it up.

i added some simple typed journaling about my resolution and thoughts regarding the new year onto a 4x6 piece of white card stock.

i then added a scrap of 6x6 paper i had from the kit onto the edge to create  fun border.  i absolutely LOVED this star paper from this months kit.  so i used it not only as a 3x4 pocket card, but i also used my star punch to create some star embellishments from it.  i used my sewing machine to adhere them to the side. love the dimension.

i also loved using the sequin embellishments from the kit onto my spreads this month. how EASY are they to use first off....and second, they look so cute on pages.  a little bit of sparkle, added texture. such a great embellishment.  again, another favourite this month.

i am so happy i took some time to document this special time of year.  it is always neat to look back and reflect once the year has passed.  it is also nice to write down a focus, or intention you want to bring forward.  i really pray 2016 is a really good year.

happiest new year to all of you. may it be a year of blessings!

Time to Trim the Tree-"Mistletoe & Holly" Classic Kit

Thanks for joining me today, I have another double page layout to share.  This time using pictures of our family decorating the tree from Christmas 2014.

I try to print the pictures that I want to scrapbook at the end of each month.  I take LOTS of photos, and if I don't keep caught up on the printing, it will be totally overwhelming to me.  So I will print this December's photos in the beginning of January.

Therefore, if I want to scrapbook Christmas photos in December, it will be pictures of Christmases past.  At least I will have this year's Christmas pictures printed and ready to scrap by the end of next week.  I have found this is the only way I can stay organized and keep on top of my printing without getting confused.

The left side of my layout, is a bit more intricate and detailed than the right side, since the left side focused on only 2 photographs, and the right side containes a collage of photographs.

Sometimes I struggle using rub ons on my layouts.  But the Shimelle Rub Ons in this kit were very easy for me to find a home for on this page.  The string of lights is one of my favorite from the pack...

I decided to fussy cut one of the little Rudolph's out of the border strip paper and add pop dots to the back to make one deer stand out on my page.  I like adding a little dimension with pop dots whenever I can.

The Pink Paislee Puffy Stickers "Deck the Halls" sentiment made the perfect title for this layout--I paired it with a few "ornament" embellishments from chipboard, to puffy stickers, to wooden buttons...

I cut the phrase "Christmas is Coming" out of the "B" side of a tiny scrap of paper that I had left over from earlier this month, and made it into a little tag, I outlined it to draw attention to it on my layout.

Thank you for joining me today!  Happy New Year!!!  I am dying to break into my January "Sweet Charlotte" Kit and share some layouts using that!!!  See you soon!

Mistletoe & Holly: Joy and Christmas Dance

Merry Christmas, Noel Mignon fans! It's Jana Eubank. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying your weekend.

I'm back again today with a couple more layouts using the December Mistletoe & Holly Classic Kit.

JOY TO THE WORLD

I love a minty aqua, white, and red color scheme for Christmas and winter pages and thought it would be perfect here with my daughters at their school choir concert, wearing their red vests. The pictures just POP against the light background and really become the focus of this page.

I used the peppermint-looking chevron paper as the baseline for my photos, snuggling them up to each other in an arrangement that made sense.

I have LOVED cutting out the birds from the October Afternoon paper ... I think I have used them on almost every pages I have created this month ... they are just so happy and sweet. I can't resist! Here they are accenting the top of my page, grouped with a few punched white glittery snowflakes.

And again in the lower left corner of the photo grouping.

I used the tag stickers from the Jillibean Soup stickers to accent either side of the page, it's a fun way to add in a different texture with the white string tied to them.

I handcut the word "Joy" from the Simple Stories paper and used it to create my title. The white letter stickers are from the kit. The green stickers were die cut using and alphabet die I had in my stash. I punched out a few more snowflakes to accent the title and tie this part of the page in with the snowflakes at the top of the page.

Finally, I pen-stitched around the edges of the page using the red pen that was included with th ekit.

.

CHRISTMAS DANCE

I used a similar color scheme on this page of my daughter going to the Christmas Dance last year. I used the My Mind's Eye papers from the kit paired with white and ivory. The Shimelle woodgrain paper was the perfect background layer to house my photos.

I used those cute October Afternoon birds again at the top of this page along with some Pink Paislee snowflake puffy stickers, the Jillibean Soup "JOY" sticker, and a couple of snowflake sequins.

I added a bit of stitching along the striped paper for texture.

I had already cut the woodgrain background paper when I decided that I wanted to scoot it a little more to the left. I needed a pattern to fill in on the right ... and decided to go with something tone-on-tone. I used an embossing folder to emboss a piece of white cardstock, and then accented the edge with a punched scallop border. I love how pretty it turned out! It goes nicely with the elegant dance clothes in the pictures.

The lace along the bottom of the page came from last month's Golden Delicious Classic kit. I love the texture it adds here.

I created the title using a cut file I created of my handwriting. You can download that file for free by visiting the FREEBIES page on my personal blog, if you'd like. The green letters were again created using a metal die and cardstock from my stash. I placed a few puffy star stickers around the title to connect the title visually to the photos a bit more.

Finally, to accent the bottom of my layout, I hand cut several of the gifts from the My Mind's Eye paper and grouped them together with a puffy poinsettia sticker, "Cheer" Jillibean Soup stickers, puffy snowflake stickers. and a die cut pine sprig (Silhouette Cameo).

.

Well, I hope you enjoy your weekend! And now that the big day is over, you might get a minute to yourself to do a little bit of scrapping! If so, I hope my pages have inspired you today to pull out your Mistletoe & Holly kit.

I'm now getting excited to dig into my Sweet Charlotte goodies! Eeek!

Happy New Year to you!
Jana

our december with daily diary.

Hello everyone! WOW! We are here....December 24th.
If you are anything like me, you are wondering exactly where the month has gone.
Amidst the busy busy of the season, I am just SO happy that I took some time away from the demands of the day to document some of my favourite photos I have taken so far.

These 6x8 pages are created using the December Daily Diary Kit.
I love this kit.
There is so much going on. So many fun vibes and pieces.
It was so much fun to mix and match everything to piece this layout together.

True to my style, I kept my spread simple. Focus on the photos with some beautiful products added in.  I am in LOVE with the puffy polka alphas from this kit.  They are so cute.

I also LOVE the 3x4 camera card with the type text.
It was also fun to add these wood looking word embellishments onto my pages.
They add a touch of vintage, with some added dimension. So great.

Some fun elements here.  The foil numbers are awesome, and I loved layering these embellies overtop my instax photo.

I loved how I decided to use this pocket page.  I basically added cards and pattern paper into the pockets and layered my photo and embellishments on the outside of the page protector.  Such a fun way to add variety into my album.

I am so thankful for these memories.  They are just of the little things, but when you add them up they amount to the biggest joy in my life.  I hope you are all able to enjoy yourselves during this holiday season amidst the chaos and crazy....cause we all got it!

Merry Christmas everyone. xoxo

Daddy Daughter Dance-a layout using "Mistletoe & Holly" Classic Kit

I have a double page layout to share using this month's beautiful "Mistletoe & Holly" Classic Kit.  These are the first pictures I thought of when I saw the "joy" paper in this month's kit...

Although the pictures aren't Christmas themed, but the colors worked perfect with this month's kit.

I think playing with the embellishments that come in the kits is always my favorite part of scrapooking.  I did pull a few sequins from my stash for this layout.

I cut one of the die cuts in half to ground my title and the other bits and pieces on this embellishment cluster...

The rub ons in the December kit are so much fun to add to the photos, and they can run right off of the photo onto the various layers of paper underneath.  I really like using rub ons in this way.  I used the little frame as a journaling box---the perfect size for a little blurb about the event!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  I would love to see your layouts using the "Mistletoe & Holly" kit on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook page.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Joy

Hey guys, Michelle here! I've been printing out lots of photos that I want to use with the Mistletoe & Holly kit. I had planned on sharing a different layout today but then we had some family photos taken the other day and I had to play with those first!

I took some of my favorite photos from our family pics & cropped them to 3x4. Originally I was going to do a strip of photos straight across my page, most likely toward the bottom. But then I pulled out that great paper with "Joy" at the bottom and that woodgrain worked perfectly with my photos!

I've said it before that I love papers like this because it's almost like half the 'work' is done for you. Add some photos, some embellishments, and boom! Done!

I had to add the 'naughty' and 'nice' stickers...ya know, girls nice, boys naughty! haha And on pages like this I typically don't do an 'official' title since there's already the big word at the bottom. Sometimes I enhance it or add words but this time I left it as is.

I will be back after Christmas with the rest of my holiday pages. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!!

Mistletoe & Holly: Having a "Krafty" Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Friends! Jana Eubank here. I LOVE the way the colors of the Dec. Mistletoe & Holly Kit coordinate with kraft cardstock, so today I thought I would share a couple of layouts using it as the base to my pages.

MAGICAL MOMENT

A couple of years ago my son was helping his grandparents deliver Christmas gifts to their neighbors. One of their neighbors sets out hay for the deer each year. They asked my son if he would like to help feed the deer ... they came and ate right out of his hand! He was delighted and mesmerized. It was definitely a magical moment for him that year!

I created a vertical line down my page to anchor my page design. This is a great solution when you are working with both horizontal and vertical photos. I layered a few strips of paper together for a little pattern play. I then created three shaker boxes from the square frames and sequins included with my kit. I layered these over the strips and photos.

In each corner I used metal dies to create the die cut snowflakes from white cardstock. I added the Shimelle wood buttons to the center of each one and then used the sparkles from the Shimelle rub ons to accent each group.

I placed the striped ribbon horizontally across the page to anchor the horizontal photo and also repeat the striped pattern of the top shaker box. I added one of the flair buttons to the knot in the ribbon.

I used the alphabets from the kit to create the title. I had a little space left at the bottom, so I used the Shimelle rub ons to fill that space in and make the design even with the bottom of the plaid paper strip.

............................................................

THIS IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT

I love taking pictures of my kids all dressed up for church in front of the Christmas tree! It's just so festive! For this page, I again used a sheet of kraft cardstock to build my page on. I love how all of the other papers POP against it!

I layered together several patterns and then added a bit of cream Hambly woodgrain transparency I had in my stash for additional interest. You could also use a woodgrain rub on or border stamp here for a similar look.

The two arrow paper clips help lead your eye across the page to the title and larger photos.

In the left corner, I had a little fun grouping together the star stickers from the Jillibean Soup sticker sheet and My Mind's Eye enamel shapes sheet. I accented the centers of the larger stars with the wood buttons from the kit.

I anchored my photos along the green cut apart border strip by Echo Park paper. I also let this serve as my title. I used the red pen from the kit to color in the word "Christmas" to help it stand out a bit.

I accented the bottom right corner of the photos with a bird I cut from the October Afternoon paper and more star stickers and wood buttons.

............................................................

My next post for the NM Blog isn't until after Christmas, so I wanted to take a minute to wish you a very Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are making lots of fun memories with your family and friends this season! Stay warm and cozy out there!

Merry Christmas!
Jana

Christmas Morning 2014-"Mistletoe & Holly" Classic Kit

The Mistletoe & Holly Classic Kit  is to die for!  I looked forward to getting the December Noel Mignon kit so I could get some pictures from Christmases past scrapbooked.  For some reason, I have a hard time scrapbooking Christmas photos, probably because it is such a busy time of year--I just run out of time to scrapbook.  I take so many pictures in December and have a huge backlog of printed photos that need to be scrapped--and this month's kit is just what I need to get the job done!

For today's layout I took a cue from a layout I saw on Pinterest---sometimes I need to go there for inspiration and a starting point, it gets my creativity going.  I used a layout found on Little Scraps of Magic blog and loosely scraplifted it.  Here is the finished product...

I popped the die cut up off of the page using Pop Dots.  I really like adding a little dimension to some of the embellishments when I can.

The best part of making this layout was figuring out which embellishments I wanted to use from the kit and where I wanted to place them.  There are always so many great bits and pieces in the Noel Mignon kits---it makes it very easy to embellish my layouts.

I had so many many photos of my son opening his Christmas gifts, so the second "half" of this layout is actually a 12x12 collage of photos from Christmas morning.

I liked the way this layout turned out so much, that I created an identical layout for the photos of my daughter opening her gifts!

Thank you for checking out the blog today...I will see you next week!
