Don't LICK me, Ariana!

I try to get a picture (as most moms do) of their kids on their first day of school. Even my littlest, who is in MDO (where I also work!) wants her picture done.

My dear friend is her teacher this year, so my kids have grown up always knowing her... so they are very comfortable with her.

When I went to get the shot of Ariana with her, after we did the regular pose-y one, then my goofy little girl made things hilarious! I'm so glad I got the shot!

(For some reason there is a funny glare on the photos on this layout, but it doesn't look like that in real life.)

I had fun playing with the beautiful patterned papers in this kit. My main question that I started asking myself years ago with layout creations was, "What else can I add or take away?" In this instance, my addition was the strip of red & pink chevron paper behind the yellow chevron. I love the added "oomph" it gives to the bottom and how it grounds the page.

I've had a lot of fun playing with the "Our Summer" kit this month! I can't wait for Miss Nelson to arrive!

Julie's sketch + my Daily album!

Have you checked out Julie's sketch for this month? It's a really fun one! I wanted to adapt it to my Daily Life album, and because I had several photos to use, I decided to try to give a two pager a try. I know, living life on the edge, hmm? Hehe

I started off with Julie's design, but then kind of just went with it and adapted it for my photos. (P.S. I love having a Selphy printer... I took those pictures yesterday morning! It's wonderful being able to print things quickly at home!)

Because of the size of my pages, I don't want to overload them with product, but you also know that I love to layer! I love that I can still focus on some smaller areas to layer by adding in pages like this that are more like traditional scrapbook pages, mixed in amongst all the pocket pages.

That little wood veneer banner from the Our Summer kit was too cute. I just love it.

Make sure to keep an eye on the official NoelMignon.com Facebook page- "Miss Nelson," the September kit, has been making some sneak peek appearances there!

Evening Stroll!

It's that time of year... the kids are heading back to school, cooler breezes start wafting through your windows, you get out that favorite pumpkin spice candle, and you get the itch for new paper supplies!

The perfect kit for September goes on sale this Saturday- Evening Stroll!

Design team member Julie Bonner picked out some great items to go along with this kit! Check out her full list here... and here's a couple of my favorites from her list.

Cute flair from A Flair for Buttons

Maya Road Wood Doilies- these are beautiful as is, or misted, or used as a mask with mists!

And don't forget, there's a coupon code for 20% off in the shop, good through tomorrow! Just enter BACK2SCHOOL at checkout! :)

A little Jack & Jill sneaky peek!

I got my Jack & Jill kit in the mail yesterday so I whipped up a quick layout to share with you guys!

If you are not a subber, this will go up for sale on the 25th... but there are only a handful of kits, so you'll need to be quick about it! Noel will be opening up new subscriptions soon, so make sure you're on the wait list!

I added the big tulle bow from my stash, but the rest of this is from the kit!

How much do I love those thickers?! A LOT!

There are a lot of fun "bits and bobs" in this kit- you can see some in this little snippet of my layout... the kraft flags, the butterflies, the washi tape, the label stickers, and the yellow ink!

I even stamped! That little yellow birdie is a stamp in the kit. SOOOO cute!

Goof ball

Did yall know that I am married to a comedian??!
Oh yeah, he thinks he is soooo funny goofing up all my pictures!!
Doesn't he know his face is going to stay that way if he keeps making faces like that??!

I used the Mary Ellen kit from Noel Mignon to make this layout.
And I totally ripped off the star idea from this layout by Maggie Holmes in the September issue of Creating Keepsakes.

Have yall seen the sneaks of the newest kit Noel is working on??

This one is called "Study Hall".

Doesn't it look fabulous??

Check out this thread to see even more sneaks for this new kit.
It goes up for preorder on August 25th!!
:)
Have a great week!

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday morning good people!!
Anybody scrapbook over the weekend?
me! me! me! me!
While I am waiting anxiously to get my hands on the new Salt Water Taffy kit (you can see great sneaks here), I am still going strong with my Bees Knees kit!
I made this layout about an author I met recently at a local library.
I thought the wordy GCD piece of patterned paper in the kit was perfect for the theme of this page!

I actually inked the light blue canvas Thickers that come in the kit with brown ink to distress them a bit.
I wasn't so sure how that was going to turn out...but it worked!
And I couldn't make my journaling work on the front of the layout.
It just didn't look right no matter how I tried it.
So I did all my journaling on the back of the page instead!

I made a card with the Bees Knees too!

It was a scrapping frenzy for me this weekend!
{ha!}
