{Thanksgiving Traditions} Challenge with the "All Fall" Classic Kit

Happy Thanksgiving week my Noel Mignon friends!!! This week the design team is sharing layouts about Thanksgiving family traditions.  There are still 3 more "All Fall" Classic Kits in the store, so if you need to document your Thanksgiving memories, check them out.

I love the hexagon paper that came in this month's kit, so it was the star of my layout this week.  I started with that piece and pulled the other papers and embellishments based on the colors in my photos.

The tradition that I scrapbooked about began in our family in 2012.  The tradition is that we read the Elf on the Shelf and the elves show up on Thanksgiving Day.  This past year, I read the book not only to my kiddos, but to my nieces and nephews too.

I used a blue alphabet sticker from my stash to spell "tradition" because it matched the blue in the paper so well.  The word "Thanksgiving" is fussy cut from the Carta Bella paper from this month's kit.  I embellished the title with a chipboard leaf and a couple of beautiful Echo Park brads.

I cut a piece of the brown sheer ribbon from the "All Fall" kit in half lengthwise and tucked both sides under the layers of papers.  I really like the way it looks peeking out from under the layers.  I finished off the journaling block (which is some packaging from the Petty Little Studio stickers) with a couple of more simple embellishments.  The background paper is so busy, that I felt that I only needed a couple of embellishments on this page.

I started the second side of the layout with a collage print and used the Simple Stories blue paper as a background.  The subtle pattern makes a perfect background paper, similar to cardstock, but with a little touch of pattern.

I finished off this side of the layout by piecing together a few fussy cut hexagons and adding a branding strip with a floral pint down the right hand side.  The word "gathering" was also cut from the Carta Bella paper.  I paired that with another chipboard leaf and a couple of brads for a finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I created.  Come back all week to see what other Thanksgiving traditions the design team shares!

Family is Sometimes Furry | All Fall Classic Kit

Hello there!

It's Laura here sharing a layout with you!  This week the DT members are creating projects with a "family" theme.  I usually scrap about a year behind, so that I can work with photos that suit the current products I am given, unless of course something really speaks to me and today is one of those days.

I snapped this photo the other night, while my son and I were snuggled in watching Netflix in our PJ's.  Of course, if Timmy is stretched out somewhere our pup Max is usually at his side.  Well our baby, Ruby, is now deciding she does not want to be left out.  The pair of them cannot get close enough as they vie for his attention, so you can imagine how cozy is it for this 90 pound kid when he has two 70+ pound bulldogges on his lap!

When I saw that we were scrapping families this week, I knew I had to document about furry family members!

I also knew I really wanted to work the the green glittery alphas in the kit as well as the colour orange (because we have one orange dogge), so I pulled as many orange and green elements together as I could and got busy.

I fussy cut some hexagons from the Simple Stories "warm and cozy" patterned paper, they are so pretty and offer just the right amount of pattern for this page.

I used these pretty alpha stickers from Pretty Little Studios to create the second part of my title, I love the golden green colour of them!  I kept my embellishing pretty simple but still managed to create a visual triangle.  The distress marker in the kit was perfect for journalling as well as scribbling onto my date stamp to stamp the date of the photo.

I have another process video today, you can watch the video for this layout below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Simple Stories Hello Fall chipboard and "Warm and Cozy" and "Autumn Delight" patterned papers; Jen Hadfield "Daisy Margarita" patterned paper; American Crafts "cricket" cardstock and "Eclair" Thickers; Pretty Little Studios "Oakley Avenue" golden ABC's and vellum sticker tape; May Arts leaf ribbon; Echo Park "I love family" brads; Tim Holtz "gathered twig" distress marker.  (from my stash; DMC floss; Doodlebug twine; "harvest orange" Glimmermist; Dear Lizzy date stamp.)

Thanks for visiting!

Fall Love | All Fall Classic Kit

Hello friends! Laura here. sharing a new project today!  I had some fun with our weekly DT challenge, which was to feature stitching or a patchwork on our pages!  I am creating with the gorgeous November "All Fall" kit, here is a little peek at it for you.

You can read all about the contents of this kit and order it here.

I began my page by adding loads and loads of mist droplets to my background in a variety of colours to mimic the fallen leaves in my photo. Then I created some simple layers with "patches" of papers which I stitched around prior to adhering to my page, primarily because I was saving time and continuing on with my layout while waiting for the Gesso to dry on my cardstock.

I wanted to use this sweet acrylic piece as part of my title and love the way it looks adhered right to my photo.  When I cropped my photo I left space next to my son just for this reason.

I used a combination of chipboard, rub-ons and brads to create a small cluster to the left of my photo. I love the way that the floral chipboard pulls so many of the colours from my picture.

I basically repeated this embellishment recipe in two other areas of my layout...

...giving me my visual triangle around my focal area.

I finished up my page with gold color shine and my journalling.

I have created another process video for this layout, you can check it out below or here on my You-Tube channel!

Supply List: Carta Bella patterned paper "all forest" and "family gathering"; Pebbles patterned paper "autumn day" and "pumpkin patch"; Pretty Little Studios Oakley Avenue (by Ashley Horton) golden ABC alphas, Fall Leaves acrylic shapes, and vellum stickers; Jen Hadfield rub ons; Simple Stories Hello Fall chipboard pieces and die cuts; Echo Park "I love family" brads; May Arts ribbon. (from my stash: American Crafts white card stock; Sargent white Gesso; Heidi Swapp gold colour shine; Mr. Hue's mist in water cooler and evergreen; Glimmrmist in harvest orange, brick and pinecone;  Leows water colour paints.)

Thanks so much for visiting today!
