Happy Thanksgiving and the Home Sweet Home Classic Kit

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to y'all.

We sure are grateful for you here at Noel Mignon.

Today I have a quick fall project to share with you.

Before that, though, I just hope that your day is filled with happiness and that in between the food prep, the turkey and the pie (or whatever you choose to eat today), the parade and the football, and maybe even the naps, remember the truckload of blessings in your life.

For my project I used the Home Sweet Home classic kit.

I simply started with a 5x7 piece of dotted patterned paper from the kit and kept it pretty simple since I wanted the cute little red truck to be the focus of the project.

Here are a couple of detail shots:

These little flowers from Jillibean Soup are adorable:

Thank you for stopping by Noel Mignon and have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Turkey treat boxes with the Home Sweet Home Classic Kit

I can't believe Thanksgiving is two days away . . . crazy right?!

Well I thought I would make some cute little turkey treat bags this week for some of the gals I visit from my church.  They came together super quick and you can make two on one full 12x12 sheet of pattern paper.  I think they would be adorable as place settings for Thanksgiving dinner and something you can have the kidlets help put together.  My little guy loved helping me add their faces.

Here is the turkey bag I used in the Silhouette Store - Turkey treat bag

Once I had them set up to cut I let my machine do all the work and then I assembled them.  I did decide to cut out the feathers twice from the same pattern paper so they would be the same print on both sides.

I love using the Tombo Mono Aqua glue to assemble 3d paper projects.  It has a little longer drying time so you can line things up before it dries.  Also this particular glue dries clear without too much warping.

For their eyes I used a some wiggly eyes I had in my craft stash and used the glue gun to glue them on.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  I wish you all in the US a wonderful holiday week and enjoy your time with friends and family.  Gobble gobble! ;)

{Happy Thanksgiving} Layout with the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit

Hello Friends!  It's Meridy here and fall is in full swing, we had a Fall Festival and a visit to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend.  I got lots of pictures, and I can't wait to get them printed.  In the meantime, I worked on a layout with a photo of Thanksgiving 2016 for today's layout using the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is heading over to Pinterest for inspiration.  I found this fall mood board, and decided to take cues from it when creating my layout this week.  I mainly went with a similar color scheme, the wood grain, and falling leaves, for inspiration.

Here is what I came up with...

I used the wood grain patterned papers for the background of my layout, they just seemed to fit the style I was leaning towards from my inspiration board.  Next, I layered a few strips of paper that I had left over from previous layouts I created this month.  The photograph is the star of this layout for sure!!!

I did add a couple of doilies from my stash to bulk up the layers here, but I think they worked really well with the style and look I was going for.

I used the acrylic word "happy" from the kit as a starting point for my "Happy Thanksgiving" title, and finished it off with the gold Thickers from the kit.

Finally, I layered up some of the chipboard stickers from the kit, a little twine, some die cuts, crystal dots, and a few sequins (from my stash).  I even used some of the Prima packaging from the puffy stickers to create a subtle layer peeking out from beneath the chipboard stickers.

That wraps up my layout for today!  I can't wait to see what you create with your "Apple Crisp" Kits!!!

{Long Thanksgiving Weekend} with the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit

Hello friends!  It's Monday, so it's Meridy here today.  We started putting out our fall decor this week, and this month's "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit has put me in the fall mood for sure!  I decided to scrap some photos from Thanksgiving weekend of 2016.

I decided to take a few "down time" photos last Thanksgiving break, so I could show what life is like and how we relax.  I think I will do the same this year.  I like to break up the "traditional" Thanksgiving photos and add some of these into my albums as well.

I really adore the pumpkin paper in the kit this month, it is a fairly busy pattern, so I decided to use a strip of it on a solid cardstock base.  A few more patterned paper strips across the bottom, and the base of the layout was complete.  Now for the fun part...

As you may know, titles with multiple fonts are my favorite part of the layout to create.  I love piecing them together like a puzzle, overlapping letters, and keeping the words close to one another so they look like they all "fit" together.  These gold Thickers with the blue edges are the bomb!!!

There are so many awesome embellishments in this kit, the chipboard, stickers, die cuts, glitter washi, and crystal dots were the perfect additions to my title.

Next, I added a coordinating embellishment cluster on the bottom right hand corner of the layout to balance the embellishments near the title.  I did a little journaling, and my layout was complete!

I would love to see how you are using your "Apple Crisp" kits on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great week!!!

turkey tradition

Hey friends, Michelle here! I hope you all have survived Thanksgiving without too much adjustments to your waistlines!! haha I myself am enjoying this Friday without any crazy shoppers (only online shopping for me!) and *hopefully* a bit of Gilmore Girls later today when the house is quiet and I can enjoy it to the fullest!
We're doing layouts on traditions this week so I thought I'd do one about my daughter's Oreo turkeys that she makes every year for Thanksgiving. It has become her tradition to make them every year so I thought it'd be fun to do a layout about it!
I just *love* those green glittery thickers that came with the All Fall Classic kit!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

{Thanksgiving Traditions} Challenge with the "All Fall" Classic Kit

Happy Thanksgiving week my Noel Mignon friends!!! This week the design team is sharing layouts about Thanksgiving family traditions.  There are still 3 more "All Fall" Classic Kits in the store, so if you need to document your Thanksgiving memories, check them out.

I love the hexagon paper that came in this month's kit, so it was the star of my layout this week.  I started with that piece and pulled the other papers and embellishments based on the colors in my photos.

The tradition that I scrapbooked about began in our family in 2012.  The tradition is that we read the Elf on the Shelf and the elves show up on Thanksgiving Day.  This past year, I read the book not only to my kiddos, but to my nieces and nephews too.

I used a blue alphabet sticker from my stash to spell "tradition" because it matched the blue in the paper so well.  The word "Thanksgiving" is fussy cut from the Carta Bella paper from this month's kit.  I embellished the title with a chipboard leaf and a couple of beautiful Echo Park brads.

I cut a piece of the brown sheer ribbon from the "All Fall" kit in half lengthwise and tucked both sides under the layers of papers.  I really like the way it looks peeking out from under the layers.  I finished off the journaling block (which is some packaging from the Petty Little Studio stickers) with a couple of more simple embellishments.  The background paper is so busy, that I felt that I only needed a couple of embellishments on this page.

I started the second side of the layout with a collage print and used the Simple Stories blue paper as a background.  The subtle pattern makes a perfect background paper, similar to cardstock, but with a little touch of pattern.

I finished off this side of the layout by piecing together a few fussy cut hexagons and adding a branding strip with a floral pint down the right hand side.  The word "gathering" was also cut from the Carta Bella paper.  I paired that with another chipboard leaf and a couple of brads for a finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I created.  Come back all week to see what other Thanksgiving traditions the design team shares!

{Family Challenge} with the "All Fall" Classic Kit

Hello Noel Mignon friends, I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week already!!!  This week I'm working with the "All Fall" Classic Kit.  The design team is working with the {Family Challenge} this week, which is to use the word "FAMILY" as a title on our layout.  The pictures in my layout are from Thanksgiving 2015, so I thought it was fitting to scrapbook them while I am in the Thanksgiving mood.

I started with the Simple Stories background paper with the leaf image on it and decided where to place my 5x7 photo.

Next, I pulled out my Silhouette, which I will admit, I have not used to it's full potential lately!!! To design my title, I downloaded a free font called "Brusher".  I had to change up the "y" ascender for "family" a little bit to make it look the way I wanted.  Then I cut the file 3 times, each time offset a little more.

On the right hand side of the layout I added some of the brown ribbon from the kit and a few more embellishments at the bottom left of the collage.  I liked the way the gold rub ons added another layer to the embellishment cluster, so I added one peeking out from under the chipboard.

Here is another close up of the embellishment cluster and journaling block.  The journaling block is actually some of the packaging from the "Petty Little Studio" Oakley Avenue embellishments.  I love when I am able to re-use packaging.  It's a great added bonus!!!

I have really been working my way through the "All Fall" kit these past 10 days, so I decided to share a few more layouts...

First, I was very inspired by a video by Eternally Inspired Mama where she showed a technique she calls Watercolor Through a Stencil.  After I watched that video, I decided to create the following page.  The background is very similar to what she showed in her process video, as a matter of fact, I think we are using the exact same stencil.  I thought she did a beautiful job and what a great way to use a stencil!!!

Next, I was itching to do some Halloween photos from last year.  I did grab a piece of patterned paper from my stash for the touch of teal in this layout.  I also used a piece of seam binding and a couple of leaves from my stash.  I loved the way I was able to mix the felt leaves in this month's kit with the paper leaves in my stash.  I cut the stems off of the felt leaves and twisted them around a toothpick to create the curly vine type texture.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out all of the layouts I have created so far.  I think there are still a few more "All Fall" Classic Kits in the store.  It's the perfect time to pick one up just in time to scrapbook some of your upcoming Thanksgiving pictures!!!
