{First Colors} Layout with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit

It's Monday and that means it's Meridy here, thanks for stopping by!  I want to share another layout I made with the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit.  There were lots of vibrant colors in this month's kit and some really cool patterned papers, I decided to use this "color wheel" type of paper for a layout about my baby's first box of colors.

As soon as I pulled this paper to work with, I knew I wanted to use the circle shape as a major design element for the layout.  First, I matted and placed my photos on the bottom right of the paper, then I fussy cut a  couple of the paint swatches from another paper.  Next, I punched a bunch of 2 different size hexagons and sprinkled them around the circle to fill in the blank spaces.

Finally, I got the puffy stickers out and sprinkled them around as well.  I decided to add a small cluster of these embellishments in some of the "white space" on the photos as  well, to visually bring the circle around.

I decided the layout looked a little bare, so I added some of the acrylic words to read "Little You", and the "I Love" flair button.  But the layout still looked a little disconnected.  So I decided to hand stitch in white embroidery floss around where the white circle I covered up on the patterned background was.  This finished the embellishments off.

Last, it was time to add my title & journaling, again along the arch of the circle.  And with that, the layout was finally complete.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I would love to see how you used this piece of patterend paper from the kit this month.  Share your layouts on our Noel Mignon Members Facebook page or on Instagram #NoelMignon.  Have a great day!!!

{NYE 2017} with the "She's Crafty Classic Kit"

Happy New Year 2018!!!!!  It's Meridy here, and I have my first layout with the "She's Crafty" Classic Kit.  It's (fittingly) a layout of NYE 2017.  The colors in this month's kit are so bright and fresh, and they went great with my pictures of last New Year's Eve, so I decided to make a double page layout.

I used an 8x10 collage so I could include 10 photos on the right hand side of the layout and then focus on my 2 favorite pictures on the left side of the layout.

I started with this amazing teal patterned paper as my background, then added a few layers of patterned paper, photos, and a couple of die cuts from the kit.  I journaled a little straight on the label die cut.  I used a date and time stamp I had in my stash, and drew attention to it with the arrow stamp from the roller stamp in the "She's So Crafty" Classic Kit.

I wanted the page to really blend with the adjacent side of the layout, so I added the gold rub on "chains & beads" from the amazing rub ons from the kit.  I mixed the black Thickers with a die cut label and an acrylic word to create my title.

I loved this beautiful patterned paper that I used on the right hand side of the layout and KNEW it needed to be used for a celebration layout---what better than NYE!!?!

I added a few simple scraps, die cuts, and rub ons to this side of the layout in order to make the 2 pages coherent.  I sketched around the tab and sketched a little around some of the layers in black thin pen, and with that, I decided the layout looked complete.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful 2018!!!

{Happy Thanksgiving} Layout with the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit

Hello Friends!  It's Meridy here and fall is in full swing, we had a Fall Festival and a visit to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend.  I got lots of pictures, and I can't wait to get them printed.  In the meantime, I worked on a layout with a photo of Thanksgiving 2016 for today's layout using the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit.  This week the design team is heading over to Pinterest for inspiration.  I found this fall mood board, and decided to take cues from it when creating my layout this week.  I mainly went with a similar color scheme, the wood grain, and falling leaves, for inspiration.

Here is what I came up with...

I used the wood grain patterned papers for the background of my layout, they just seemed to fit the style I was leaning towards from my inspiration board.  Next, I layered a few strips of paper that I had left over from previous layouts I created this month.  The photograph is the star of this layout for sure!!!

I did add a couple of doilies from my stash to bulk up the layers here, but I think they worked really well with the style and look I was going for.

I used the acrylic word "happy" from the kit as a starting point for my "Happy Thanksgiving" title, and finished it off with the gold Thickers from the kit.

Finally, I layered up some of the chipboard stickers from the kit, a little twine, some die cuts, crystal dots, and a few sequins (from my stash).  I even used some of the Prima packaging from the puffy stickers to create a subtle layer peeking out from beneath the chipboard stickers.

That wraps up my layout for today!  I can't wait to see what you create with your "Apple Crisp" Kits!!!

{Picking the Perfect Pumpkin} made with the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit

Happy October!!!  It's Meridy here today and I just love this time of year.  Today I'm using the "Apple Crisp" Classic Kit to create a double page layout about my daughter at the pumpkin patch last year.

The colors in this kit are so beautiful!  I started with the plaid paper from the kit and added an extra plaid grid with the thin bronze glitter washi tape in the kit.  That is what I used to base this layout around.

I couldn't wait to fussy cut the beautiful floral paper and use the floral clusters as embellishments on a layout, and this was the perfect "girly" layout to do that on.

I used the dark grey alphas from the sticker sheet in the kit to create my "Picking the Perfect Pumpkin" title on the layout. I paired the title with a couple die cuts, a leaf, and the acrylic word "lovely" from the kit.

I mimicked the elements from the right hand side of the layout on the left hand side to keep it consistent and coherent.

I, once again, fussy cut some floral clusters, added a few stickers, and a leaf from the kit to create an embellishment on the lower right hand side.

To round out the layout, I splattered some gold mist that I have from an older Noel Mignon kit.

And that completes my layout for this week.  Thank you for stopping by!!! Happy October!!!

{Wrap it Up} Challenge with the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit

It's Meridy here with a "Wrap it Up" Challenge.  We are "wrapping up" our layouts with ribbon and washi today.  I am using the "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit today, I think there is still one more kit available in the store---and it is amazing!!!!

This kit was perfect for my gingerbread house pictures from last December.

My favorite part of this layout is the super cool title.  I thought it was cute.  I love the 2 different fonts that came in this month's kit, they complement each other so well.

I use some of the washi strips on this side of my layout and the "ribbon" I used wasn't actual fabric ribbon, but a faux ribbon sticker with a notch cut out of the end.

I added a few puffy sticker stars, popped up the gingerbread man die cut with pop dots, and stamped a few polka dots on the background paper to complete this side of the layout.

I used an 8x10 collage on the right hand side of my layout, I was able to include quite a few pictures this way.

I decided that I would pile on the embellishments.  There are so many cute things in this month's kit, I didn't want any of them to go to waste.  So I staggered them across the bottom of the collage, and tried to balance out the sizes, colors, and textures of the various embellishments.

I really had fun using so many embellishments, and I love looking at all of the details on the layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by today, I would love to see what you are doing with your "Oh What Fun" Classic Kit on our Member's Facebook Page.
