Total Eclipse: February So Sweet Classic Kit

Hi!  Sarah here with a layout using the February classic kit.  This week, we are using outside inspiration for our prompt.  I went to my Pinterest board and looked at some sketches that I had saved.  I found this one and thought it would be perfect for the layout I was planning.

I really wanted to be sure I documented the solar eclipse that recently happened.  I loved the circle elements in here and with the sun, I thought it went nicely.

I love the constellation paper from Authentique and with the sky element here, the paper and the color was just perfect.  I also cut some circles from other papers to complement them.

I had been saving this "Looking Up" die cut for a long time and I was finally able to us it!  This is from my stash, but it fit so nicely here.  I used two lace strips from a patterned paper to anchor the top and bottom of the photo cluster.

The Thickers from the kit were just great to tie everything in all together.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Please share your layouts you're making with February's kit in the FaceBook group!

Sketchy inspiration from Becky Fleck

When I saw that our challenge this week was to use a sketch or other inspiration source my first thought was to see what new sketches Becky Fleck had released and as I suspected, I found a great sketch for me to use for this week's project.

Here is the sketch I found, and it's from the February PageMaps by Becky Fleck.

I didn't follow the sketch exactly but did use the same basic design for my page.

Here is what I came up with using the So Sweet Daily Diary Kit

With this pretty floral from Simple Stories as the background of my page I started with a piece of white cardstock as the anchor, then placed a 6x6 sheet of tan heart paper and a few Becky Higgins journaling cards before placing my photo.

As in the sketch I used for inspiration, I had a horizontal and vertical strip of Simple Stories Love & Adore washi tape where I added a variety of hearts from the kit.

The large heart that you can see here was cut from one of the journaling cards included in the kit. I finished off my page with some of the cute Simple Stories pennant and sentiment stickers.

What is inspiring you to create lately?

We'd love to have you share it with us at the Noel Mignon Facebook group.

Love notes

Hey everyone! Valentine's Day is next week so I thought I whip up some cute little cards for my kids with the new So Sweet Classic Kit. I cut out some of the cute bingo cards from one of the patterned papers and then made little pockets for them.
There's fun die cut shapes in this kit which were perfect for decorating up my little envelopes. I also used those fun tiny alphas to put my kids names on them. I'll probably write a little note inside and then attach their cards to some candy.
Super simple, super sweet, super easy!

And yes, 2 of my kids are older but they still like when I do stuff like this for them...so I do :)

Sweet Kenya with the So Sweet Daily Diary Kit

Hello, Nicole on the blog today.  This week the design team theme is finding inspiration in a layout or a sketch that we love.  I tend to look at a sketch and use it as a very loose guide and never actually stick to the actual sketch.  I found this sketch on my pinterest board.  I liked the placement of the pictures with the journaling block and title.  As you can see from the sketch I ended up flipping it upside down.

The subject of my layout this week is the new lady of our house, our sweet kitty Kenya.  We got her a month ago and she is slowly starting to warm up to us.  I have to say it's really nice not being the only girl and it gave me a chance to use a whole lot of pink and flowers on this layout ;)

I added the paper pack with my kit this month and it allows me to stretch the daily diary kit further.  The background paper is the only addition to the kit and everything else is from the daily diary kit.

The title spot is cut from one of the 4x6 cards.  I then added one of the gold thicker stickers and cut down the word "sweetie" to spell "sweet".

I also like trying to make the products work for me.  The journaling card had a red heart on the top.  I topped it with a few stickers from the kit and it helped carry the pink/gold colors to the top of the layout.

I finished the layout with strips of washi tape on the top and bottom and tucking in some of the flower stickers among my title and journaling block.  I really let the sketch and product dictate most of my choices and kept it very basic this week.

How are you using this months kit?  Be sure to share with us on the Noel Mignon Members Facebook group.

Happy Scrapping!

{Be Mine} with the "So Sweet" Kits

Hi all, it's Meridy here.  This week we are sharing layouts using the "So Sweet" kits that were inspired by what we "love", in this case, I'm using a sketch from Stuck Sketches February 1, 2018 sketch.  You can see that sketch here.  I decided to follow the sketch pretty closely, and matched just about every aspect in the layout.

I had to pull a doily, a small piece of baker's twine, and a piece of kraft cardstock from my stash to make this layout, but other than that, everything is from the Daily Diary kit and the patterned paper from the 12x12 paper add on.

I picked papers that coordinated with my photos and built the layers up according to the sketch I used.  Therefore, this layout came together really quickly.

When it came time to embellish the layout, the gold Thickers that came in the kit made it really easy!  I used them for the heart embellishments and the title.

I also used a few of the enamel hearts and puffy sticker hearts, one of the word strips, and I cut apart one of the 4x6 cards to create the tag and the stamped label with the year.

To balance the layout out, I decided to deviate a little from the sketch and add this little banner/embellishment cluster to the top of the layout.

And that wraps up my layout for today.  Thank you for stopping by.

Sisters: February So Sweet Classic Kit

Hi all!  Sarah here with a layout using February's classic kit.  I love all of the hearts and pinks in this kit and it was great to be able to use it with a sweet picture of my girls.  This picture is just a random day in our kitchen and Layla went up to Caylan and said, "Pick me up!"  And she did and they stood there hugging for a few minutes.  Such a sweet moment and I'm so happy I was able to capture it.

I can't explain how much I love the brick paper with the pink heart on it.  It's perfect!  I made sure not to cover too much of it so you can see the heart clearly.

I used the Tim Holtz distress ink from the kit to ink the edges of all of my paper layers and it adds the perfect little pop of hot pink.

I had a sticker that had a large "2" on it that I've had in my stash for YEARS and I was so happy to be able to use it here.

I used a strip from one of the papers to ground my layers and picture and used the Thickers for my title.  Chipboard pieces and heart gems help to finish it off.

Thank you guys so much for joining me today!  Please show us how you're using your February kits in the FaceBook group!

Can you believe it's February?

I don't know about you but January has felt like two months.

And yet some days felt like they went by in a blur.

Now that it's February we will be sharing projects using the new So Sweet Classic and Daily Diary kits. There are still a couple of each kit in the Noel Mignon online store.

For this week I've created a few quick cards each measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".

For each card I started with the white cardstock base and layered tape, ribbon and sentiment cards on the Becky Higgins journaling cards.

They are pretty simple and straight-forward, which is great for me with as crazy as things have been around our house lately.

I finished off this last one with a big pink bow on the top ♥

Thank you for stopping by the Noel Mignon blog today. Please check out our Facebook page to see what we have going on and to share your scrappy projects.

Have a great rest of your week!
